I don’t normally write reviews (this is only my second in 8 years) but I’ve been moved to do so by my experience of KingsAcre.
At the end of our recent travels, my wife and I had 6 nights to spend in Phuket and after a lot of searching came across Kingsacre. The pictures and reviews looked great so we emailed them and got a response within the hour confirming availability.
On arrival we were greeted with cold drinks and enjoyable conversation with the owners Glen and Christine, who were quick to discern that we were looking for a romantic getaway and so choose to set us up in the lovely Dragonfly villa.
Hidden in the corner of the property surrounded by palms and small trees, the one bed Dragonfly villa was everything we could have asked for: King size bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, flat screen TV, fridge, ceiling fan, air-conditioning, huge wardrobe, desk and chair, even a giant bottled water dispenser.
At the front of the villa we had our own private patio with wooden table and chairs, comfy cushions, another ceiling fan, mosquito catcher and even a clothes rack provided. A great spot to appreciate their lovely garden, filled with orchids, mango trees, palm trees and visited daily by local birds bathing in the water features (and if you look closely you may see the colourful fighting fish just below the surface).
Due to the thoughtful way Glen and Christine had landscaped the garden, we were able to sit outside our villa in complete privacy whilst being only a few steps from their lovely pool area.
We had two sun lounges with padded mattresses waiting by the pool every day for our exclusive use. The over-hanging palm trees provided natural shade and with the giant adjustable umbrellas we were always able to easily control the balance of shade for me and sunshine for my wife. The pool is just deep enough and long enough to enjoy a few laps, under the watchful eye of their Lion Statue water feature.
Location wise was perfect for us, literally a 2 minute walk (past the super friendly local children) to the local shops and stalls for lunch, and a pleasant 15 minute stroll down to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars in the evening (and just a 10 minute drive to the airport).
A special mention for Christine’s fruit salads and Glen’s cooked breakfast each morning – Best Omelette Ever! Definitely on our list of places to visit again and we’d strongly recommend Kingsacre for couples and small groups of friends.
