“Interesting”
Reviewed 8 November 2012

Worth visiting along with the Heroines Monument which it is a few hundred yards from. Can easily be reached by bus or bicycle from Phuket Town and is on the road to Bangrong from the Heroines Monument. It is easy to miss as it is 200 yards back from the main road and is partially obscured by a large building site. The 100 Baht entry fee is about right. There is an exhibition to the Tsunami outside as well as replica traditional fishermen's huts. Inside ther are displays devoted to Siamese history in general as well as the history of Phuket Island. I still want to find the Trading Post and Fort established by Captain Francis Light at Bangrong in the 1780's!! An interesting museum with some well put together displays worth visiting for a couple of hours.

“Interesting if thats your thing”

Good to see a bit of genuine local history and culture in Phuket but a bit run down unfortunately. Quite informative and cheap enough for a wet day?
