Its a great place to visit over a weekend for lunch - only 30 minutes drive from the Laguna, partly through lovely rubber tree plantations. Affable ownner ( nick name Ball) and his wife Nid are great hosts.
A couple of starters suggested by Ball - Shrimp cake and chicken sesame were done to perfection and ideal with beer. The salads - spicy papaya and spicy mushroom were delicious. The most outstanding item was shrimp with red curry. Comlimentary banana balls rolled in castor sugar provided a nice finishing touch.
Downstairs on our way to the car park we bought fresh Rambutan and Long Kong (similar to longan) freshly picked from the surrounding trees. The total bill for three of us (plus two pre-teen kids happy with chicken with cashew nuts) was 1,365 baht ($45) without service charge.
This delighful place and its setting at the edge of a natural park make a nice change from the air conditioned restaurants at the five-star Laguna hotels. The food is tastier at a fraction of the price.
