“makansutra @ Peang Prai”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Me & family had a great lunch at Peang Prai. Its in a village; very cozy, relaxing & peaceful environment area. Met the lady whom is the owner & chef herself. Her son took our meal order with recommendation of their speciality ie. tempura prawns with local leave, yellow curry with pineapple, deepfried fish with 3 type of sauce - all were very tasty. Lattte was as good up to my expectation as Starbuck std. Service was 5 star std - very attentive & cleanliness.
The pricing was reasonable.
Highly recommended to all. Pls see pictures taken with lady owner & son and meals.

Aloooiiii............sedap !!!

“Incredible Thai food, excellent service in a beautiful setting far from the tourist trail!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We discovered this hidden gem after a visit to the Bang Pae Waterfall. When you are leaving the waterfall parking lot, this gorgeous open air restaurant is on the right side of the road, perched along side the pond. You can sit and hear the gibbons from the nearby rehab centre as well. There is no english language sign, but you can't miss it.
The food here was incredible and I can HIGHLY recommend the banana flower salad (one of the best things I ate whilst in Thailand and that is saying something!), fried squid with garlic and Pad Thai. The owner even agreed to make a dish for us that was not on their menu! I had read about this crispy tuna (forget the Thai name now!) dish in an article that was posted about them on the wall.
Service was second to none, presentation was stunning and best of all, the food was to die for. It was the only time we were given a dish "on the house" and really enjoyed our fried banana fritters.
This is the kind of place you want to remain relatively undiscovered, but it is too incredible not to share with fellow foodies! Make the drive here and you won't be disappointed.

“One of the good ones”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

Peang-Prai is the kind of place you want to keep to yourself, but it's just too good. Set just off of the Bang Pae Waterfall / National Park, the restaurant has excellent views of the forest and mountain. In our many visits, we regularly hear the gibbons calling back and forth across the jungle.

The fare at Peang-Prai is classic Thai soul food. Great flavors, no shortcuts, good quality and low cost. Veggie options are easy to find and the seafood is fresh and delicious. Every meal ends with complementary banana fritters in powdered sugar. For those willing to 'brave' the drive away from the well-worn tourist trail, Peang-Prai is the reward!

“Excellent food and best value for money”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

Living on Phuket this restaurant is one of our favourites and consequently on our weekly visiting list for several reasons:
1. The location is in the middle of a forrest and you will seat 5m above ground in the middle of the trees. By this you have an excellent view on nature, birds, butterflies and the nearby lake.
2. Even it is close to Bang Pae waterfall it's somehow away from the tourist crowds, but loved by the locals
3. Whatever you will choose from the big menue is excellent. Our favourites are the spicy Lemon grass salad and chicken/fish in Pandanus leaves
4. Expect less than 500 THB for a full meal incl. drinks for two persons
5. Service is a little "Thai style", but always very friendly and dedicated
