“Beautiful, Stylish, Peaceful, Private, a gem on earth”
Reviewed 30 November 2009

We have just returned from Trisara having spent 10 nights there and it is possibly the most wonderful, beautiful and stylish place both my new husband and I have ever been to.
On your arrival you are picked up on your own in one of the stylish 4x4's that have the Trisara logo on them.

We stayed in one of the Ocean View Pool Villa's which is exquisite on the interior with a huge comfy bed, sumptuous linens and big fluffy towels which are changed twice daily.
The attention to detail in the villa is perfect and it is almost like home from home.
The exterior is just wonderful, fabulous infinity pool, and the view is breathtaking of the ocean and little island. You are totally private as all around you are the most wonderful trees and plants.
The whole resort is just stunning and you are able to have your breakfast/dinner either at your villa or down near to where the sea is which is just a stunning place to be.
The staff are all so helpful, gracious and have the most wonderful smiles!! Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are genuinely very warm and hospitable people.
Anthony the general manager is so welcoming and makes you feel very special.

The food and wine is delicious as are the cocktails. The restaurant area has been beautifully done and as an interior designer myself I can not fault anything to do with Trisara. They have furnished it in a beautifully understated way that is very classy and stylish with all natural linens and stone and wood that blend in so well with the natural beauty that surrounds this delightful resort.

We cannot fault Trisara. The only little negative are the Mosquito's that seemed to love us both but this is a minor factor and they even provide you with mozzie spray.

Trisara is a beautiful holiday destination and if you are after that unique, stylish, peaceful break away with beautiful surroundings then Trisara is perfect for you.
A true gem!!!!

We stayed at Trisara for 4 nights in an Ocean View Villa and loved every moment of it. After a busy 2 month holiday in Europe my girlfriend and I wanted a few days to relax in privacy, and Trisara proved to be even better than we expected. The resort itself is stunning- understated yet sophisticated, and the staff were always attentive and friendly.

The restaurant had a great mix of international and thai cuisine (the Panang Gai was mouth-wateringly good).... and the cocktail selection was amazing. My girlfriend fell in love with the honeycomb ice-cream and swiss mocha truffles (both made in-house) which were too tempting to pass on. Overall, the food was flawless.

I must say I was rather surprised to read a fellow reviewers complaint that staff are demanding of tips 'by the bucketful'. This is simply not true. Not once during our stay did we feel obliged to tip a staff member. Bills are not offered to you after using the facilities or dining in the restaurant as everything is charged directly to your account after your order is taken. I'm not sure when staff would demand tips as there are no bills handed over in which tips can be left...Either way- we had no such trouble during our stay.

The other facilities were amazing- afternoons spent on a day-bed in front of the main pool with a cocktail seemed too good to be true. Our villa was huge- everything you need and more, and the private dining offering was great for the nights when you wanted to stay in. The level of privacy in our villa was also astounding- no one can see in to your villa, yet the view we had was expansive. You can tell that a great deal of planning has gone in to the design of this resort to make sure that each villa offers true privacy, which is the ultimate luxury in today's world.

Overall, we fell in love with the resort. The staff were friendly and professional, our villa was amazing and the faciilties were world-class. What really made our experience was the attention to the finer details of service, which was to a level only expected in the very best resorts in the world- a title deservedly held by Trisara.

There are extensive renovations going on at this resort which will be a problem if you are unlucky enough to be staying anywhere near the construction. Any complaints about the noise (and it's considerable) will be met with apologies but little else. One evening at 8pm, whilst sitting in the restaurant drilling began and continued for over an hour. Despite many looks of surprise in the general direction of the disturbance nothing at all was done. This is not what you expect from a resort of this calibre. The following morning at 7am it began again, this time accompanied by builders who could clearly see into our villa. Complaints fell on deaf ears, management never returned our phone calls and in the end a trip to reception was required before anybody even acknowledged the problem.
The solution? Non existent.
Which brings me to the next disappointment - the staff. When you arrive there is a 'discreet note' about the acceptance of tipping. It's not just accepted, it's expected by the bucketful. I'm as much a tipper as anyone, but this just became ridiculous. Banging hammers, robotic staff and zero management presence - a bad combo.
On the upside the breakfasts here were marvelous. The villas were lovely, such a pity about the lack of privacy.
Would I recommend this resort? Absolutely not.

TrisaraManager, General Manager at Trisara Phuket, responded to this review, 29 October 2009
This is the first time I have written a response to a guests comment, yet I feel strongly that the comments made in this review do not represent the true situation at Trisara.

-Firstly, there is not extensive renovations going on. Our last 2 privately owned residential villas, which are not in view of any rooms excpet the one this guest stayed in, are being completed now.
We have not revceived any other complaints about this and are very careful about keeping guests away from any regular maintenance. I regret this guest did see and hear the work on the one day this was eveident. It was stopped immediately and is now finished. After November there is no work whatsoever going on at Trisara.
The only sounds guests here are the birds and the sea....

-The one thing I do object to is the comment about tips. It is simply untrue that our staff expect or push for tips. In 5 years this is the first time I have heard this. Indeed, we purposely dont present guests with bills after eating or at the bar so that there is no pressure to add a tip. Our staff are a warm, caring and service oriented team and this comment is simply untrue. I apologise to the writer if they misunderstood this.

We spent three nights at Trisara at the end of August with our 5 ½ year old twins. After eight days in Patong doing ‘everything’ we were ready for some R&R before our flight.

Following is our review on what mattered to us as a family.

Ocean View Spa Suite Villa (307) – it was divine, fantastic for us with young ones. The villa divided into two completely separate rooms (by sliding doors), each with bathroom and TV/DVD/Stereo. Two beds were made up for the children. Upon entering the villa, the children had there own welcome plate of goodies: choc coated pop-corn, marshmallows on sticks, and strawberries with choc dipping sauce and a personalized welcome note. This really was indicative of how the children were treated throughout our stay – very warmly welcomed with all staff seeming to know their names!
The view was spectacular, and you could easily think you were the only ones there. We could see a few roof tops of the villas in front, however the vegetation really hides everything! It was totally private. We were moved on our last day, as our flight was late, to an Ocean Front Villa – we much preferred the views from the higher level. The one room villas aren’t suitable for young children – stick to the Ocean View Spa Suite (by the way you don’t have to walk anywhere the golf buggies were prompt at getting us around the resort) or book the two-bedroom villas if you have older children.

Trisara Kids – Our son is not a ‘kids clubber’, however he loved this one! Very personalised attention and when I phoned after one hour to see how they were going, I was told ‘No worry Mummy’, they stayed for three hours which was amazing. Activities included: animal balloon making, painting, beading, games, computers/DVDs. There was a great range of DVD’s for the children to choose from to take back to the villa. The adult library was fantastic too!

Restaurants – We only ate brekky in the restaurant. Rest of the meals where enjoyed through private dining. Everything was delicious. Again the children were very well catered for and besides the usual favourites there were things like Linguini with King Prawns which our daughter had three times during our stay!

Spa – we enjoyed massages in our spa suite (inclusive in our booking) and also in the spa, both great.

Staff – Loved the way everyone knew our names and were so welcoming. The resort was not busy and we rarely saw any other guests – who would want to leave their villas anyway? There were other families and we didn’t even see them so don’t be concerned if are a couple travelling.

We were recommended Trisara through our Virtuoso agent. Booking via the agent, we obtained many extras like: early check-in/late check-out, upgrades, breakfasts, spa treatments to name a few and the rate was lower than booking direct. The only hiccup was on check-out with our account, as it was 8pm at night and no-one seemed to be able to work out the query. This did not detract from our overall experience. Can’t wait to return to Trisara the next time we visit Thailand. To Trisara, thank you for providing such a superb experience for families.

We went to Trisara for our two week honeymoon and honestly it was literally 'heaven on earth'!! The moment we stepped out of the airport we were met by the very kind and caring Trisara staff and from then on....like I said, heaven! The staff and service at Trisara is incredible, the yare so attentive and actually really care about your time with them and your experience of Phuket. By the time we left, we felt like we knew everyone there... Our private villa was stunning, we watched the sun go down every night, which was magical. We liked to go out a lot and we got so many fantastic recommendations of restaurants, bars, beaches. You name it, Trisara knew it and everything always turned out to be exactly what they said. I think Trisara is a very very special place...I will never forget and will be returning very soon!

We spent two weeks at Trisara during June/July 2009. The resort was absolutely faultless. Each 'room' is actually a villa and has its own infinity pool. The views are stunning and the staff so friendly and welcoming.

During our two week stay we hardly saw another guest. The restaurant is impeccable - fabulous thai food and also delicious western food. The pool area and spa are simply stunning. The general manager couldn't do enough for us.

In fact, as an experience it was unbeatable. We doubt if there is a more luxurious resort anywhere. Sheer bliss and we cannot recommend it highly enough for a fabulous honeymoon.

We stayed here on our honeymoon between jul-aug 2008 for 5 days. I booked it direct throught the hotel after sevral correspondace with the hotel as I was looking for some specific things for our honeymoon. I trawled through all the tripadvisor reviews and forums looking for a completely private pool/beach around the world. There were very few places which offered complete privacy. Furthermore as Phuket has a largely muslim population they were able to provide Halal food during our entire stay which was excellent. In comparison other hotels such as Pavillion did not offer this.

The place did not dissapoint at all. It was an amazing experince which we still remember now and the best place I have ever stayed at! Following a long trip we were picked up at the airport by one of the Trisara welcomers who took us to Trisara Lexux 4x4 awaiting us where we were given ice cold towels and bottles of cold water.

We arrived at trisara and were welcomed by one of the staff who presented my wife with flower braclet (for the bride) and sharp refreshing ginger drink. She then explained how they have made arrangements for our food to be halal and everything we order will be halal which was reassuring as she brought it up herself (sepearte pans etc..) and was also muslim hence we trusted what she said. She then took us for a tour around the complex and we were then taken to our room.

VILLA: We stayed at the Ocean view pool villa which is on the 2nd tier of villas. This large villa included a seating area, large bed, indoor bathroom area and outdoor private shower. The pool was a big infinity poor with a decking area of each side. The pool area was completely covered by treas and bushes. Since I specially asked that the pool area in completely private , i was not dissapointed as the main reason I chose trisara was for complete privavcy and in this sense it was ideal. The pool overlooked the sea and it was also not possible to look into anybody elses villa so there were all equally private.

FOOD: The food at trisara was absolutley amazing and all Halal!! The breakfast was gorgeous, freshly baked croissants, breads, great juice combinations and the best breakfast ive had at any hotel. Because in comparison to most hotels which has buffets, the breakfast at trisara was ordered ala carte off the menu. You could order as much or little as possible and it was all included in the hotel price (breakfast free). Food ordered form the restaurants was equally as impressive and room service was great. The hotel provided daily fruits and truffle chocholates every evening which was a nice touch. On our Last night we had a in villa BBQ which was done on the poolside. This was excellent and definately recommmended.

SERVICE: The service was excellent, the staff were amazingly polite, attentive and very friendly. At first it was a bit weird being bowed at and greated by everybody but we soon got used to be treated like royalty. All the staff knew who we were, where we staying, that we were on our honeymoon etc.. it was a very personal experience in such a large place. This had to be the best service we have ever experienced in a hotel complex. On our return from our honeymoon we recieved a personalised letter at our house thanking us for our custom and stay at trisara.Nothing could fault the expereince.

SPA: we booked a massage at the SPA. The SPA is excellent located at the top of the hill. The messages were really good as to be expected but also very pricey, but then again you would expect that price when you stay at a place like this.

TRIPS: Trisara staff organised a day trip of the islands including James bond island which was very enjoyable. I think the price was reasonable and we were picked up from Trisara.

LOCATION: Trisra is located around 30mins from the Patong beach. It is not really the place if you want the night life, as everything is within the hotel complex and other things are car ride away.

OVERALL: THe 'experience' was trully amazing and without a doubt the best hotel complex I have stayed at. Of course with the amount of money you pay you expect that. However with Trisara you get a trully beautiful place, private villa and pool being the upmost importance, great food (halal) and service fit for royalty. Probably the best place in South east Asia!!!
