As a traveler for around hundred nights per year I really wanted to like The Pannarai.
And I did - except the gym which is laughable. Treadmill and elliptical are only good for kids

Breakfast is good and so was staff attitude

Nice, clean hotel which is just a few minutes walk from Central Mall Udon Thani. Definitely, a great area to stay during the Song Kran period when all the fun is. The only downside was the fitness centre where quite a number of stuff aren't working properly.

If you're looking for a clean hotel in Udon Thani that's close to tourist activities and close to the airport, you should definitely consider staying at the Pannarai Hotel. I stayed there for two weeks in March 2017. The hotel is located approximately 25-30 minutes from the airport. The sleeping rooms are a generous size with most of the space taken up by the bed, a desk and a large closet. We reserved a room with a queen size bed. The space was more than adequate for two people. The bathroom had a contemporary design with a glass walled shower.

The hotel advertised a balcony but it turned out to be an example of creative advertising. The balcony was not designed for sitting. It wasn't wide enough for chairs or a table. I assume that people use it for smoking. That was disappointing. I enjoy sitting on the balcony at night in Thailand.

The hotel also advertised a fitness center. Again, words can be deceptive. The space was about the size of my bathroom with about three pieces of equipment. if you're looking for a real workout you can walk to the Central Plaza mall. There’s a traditional fitness center there that offers a day pass for a fee.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. For many of the staff, English was challenging so I suggest that you remember to speak slowly and remain patient. All of our meals at the hotel were tasty and well prepared. The hotel offers room service but got about half of our orders incorrect. However, one night I ordered a cosmopolitan with dinner and it was very well executed.

The downside of this hotel is also its location. The hotel is beautiful but it is surrounded by dozens of open air mini bars and cheap massage businesses. A night the girls stand in front of the building trying to pull men into the bar. A place called the Day & Night Complex is next door and has live music nightly. If you’re tired from a long day of sightseeing, loud music is not what you’re hoping for.

This hotel was good. But, it is right smack in the middle of the bar section. Central Plaza on one side and bars with the working girls on the other. On both sides of the street actually. If you are looking for the night life bar scene this is the place to stay. The room was good, clean, and equipped but the basics. Stock fridge. There was a convention of some sort at the hotel, so it became rather noisy in the hallways late at night and kept my wife up most of the night. I sleep like a rock, so I didn't notice.

Room Tip: For quiet do not get on the street side.

It's marked as a 4 star hotel and whilst not bad, lacks some basic qualities that would leave you feeing you've had a good experience.

The room is nice enough but bed is hard and pillows not very comfortable. They charged me for an extra bed for my daughter without explaining there was a charge at the outset. There are no slippers provided in the room. Our view was basically the car park.

Location is good, on a busy bar street and close to Central mall.

I found the front desk staff to be less than polite and helpful.
