“LOVED IT! IGNORE BAD REVIEWS!!!”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Was pretty dubious about coming here for a week after reading the bad reviews, but can't believe how wrong they all were!
Went away for a week with my boyfriend from 6th June to the 14th and loved every minute of it!

We had a ground floor room with an amazing view of the pool. weather was 30 degrees every day, staff were very friendly, food was lovely if you're not too fussy. It does cater for mainly French and there were very few English, but Tunisias second language is French so you can't complain, if anything we should have tried harder to speak it!

Lovely little kittens living there that ran around but never begged for food.
Not a problem with asking for 3 or 4 drinks at a time, and never had to wait long. We got our room cleaned every day that we wanted it done, and if we didn't then they didn't disturb us.

Cant recommend this place enough, fab value for money :)

Room Tip: Avoid booking activities through the hotel, cheaper to do it yourself!

I loved this place. We dont speak french but i dont see why people are complaining there were hotel staff that spoke english we had no problems at all please don't expect people to speak a language so perfectly if that is not their first language. Staff were friendly and helpfull hotel was great suitable for families, couples and groups.

Just returned from our 2 week stay at the Vincci Djerba Hotel, were we ad a fab time, there werent much english guest but that didnt stop us trying to communicate with other nationalitys, and becoming friends with several during our stay!, the kids loved the mini club, espically dido and momo, who were excellant in keeping them entertained. The food was typical Tunsia and after 2 weeks did get a little boring but we didn't strave! The room was, spacious clean, and did what u ad to do, shower, change and sleep!. The resort I would describe as an up and coming resort, not yet catering for the tourists, which isn't a bad thing, if u want a nice relaxing holiday, but struggled to keep kids entertained for the 2 weeks. An excellant, clean hotel, friendly staff if u go out of ur way to acknowledge them, a shop, hairdressers, massage parlour, gym, jewllery shop, mini golf, boules and a donkey! all within the grounds of the hotel. Would go again in a few years!

I have just returned from a week at this great hotel with my family, 8 of us ranging from 76 yrs to 8yrs old. Nice airy rooms , clean and spacious without much of a view from the balcony but that never mattered, we didn`t need it. Food was lovely, very fresh and plenty of choice. It is a very cosmopolitan place, lots of Germans, French and other nationalities. This made our stay very interesting and fun. The staff are very obliging, professional and eager to please. We felt that we were in a developing resort, hotels and roads being built around us but that is not a bad thing. A few great shops just outside the hotel with fixed prices, very reasonable and a pleasure to visit. We never felt threatened or bullied into buying something. The beach is close enough to walk back for lunch or a drink, perhaps a bar where you could purchase a beer might be useful but it didn`t do us any harm to give it a miss for a few hours ! If you are a horse rider, you can enjoy an hour or two on a well schooled yet spirited Berber. The pirate ship was good value, ( Check out an activity rep called Yousef for help ) but don`t have too much lunch if you are going to the Berber evening in the hotel, good fun and masses of food. A well stocked shop in the hotel and also a wonderful find, the hairdresser who gave me a fab cut for about £12. We enjoyed the evening activities including French Karaoke, Dancing in the lobby, and a Hooker in the comfortable dimly lit lounge. In a nutshell, we paid quite a lot but it was half term and that makes a lot of difference. I would recommend this resort, not too far from the airport, great food, plenty of sunbeds, lovely pool, clean and very well maintained throughout.

As a party of 5 ladies we arrived at the hotel and were taken to the rooms. It seemed liked we were in the far end of the hotel, no lighting on the corridors and old carpet with vomit stains all over. The room had a double bed in and what appeared to be the bottom part of a bunk bed. Beds were comfortable but for the covers it looked like a dog blanket and who knows when this was last washed so was removed. Bathroom ok but if your elderly its a struggle getting in as bath is quite deep. Room was dirty on arrival hairs in the bed so reception were informed and management came but nothing was really done about it, 4 times we asked for coat hangers we eventually got them on the 5th day of our stay. The rep was informative and we booked for the pirate boat trip which worked out at £24, and we were told all soft drinks were included. The only free drinks were at lunchtime so be careful on the boat you have to pay for them.
The pool area is lovely however we booked this hotel as it said in the brochure it had a pool bar. Yes it did but you are NOT allowed to order a drink whilst in the pool you have to get out and walk around? whats the point in having one. We never starved but all meals were cold tried to explain this to management but as we were English they did not understand or appear cared about. There were only 7 English people in the hotel I think Thomas cook should tell people that it is not a hotel where the brits go and even on questionnaire forms there's no English so you cannot fill it in. The waiters were very nice and we tipped them and they saved us a table every night. Beer and spirits fine though you have to pay for most cocktails. On the whole it was OK but as I stayed at the el mouradhi menzel in djerba last year which was fab I wont be returning to this hotel again. I believe flights start from gatwick this week but still you will have problems with being english. The shop in the hotel is ok and the staff are lovely but I suggest if you want crisps or chocolate to pack some in your suitcase as they are expensive and also there are no fridges in any of the rooms. We stayed in week commencing 12/5/14. ask for a high floor as there were alot of people running on the corridors and knocking on our doors at 4 am.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor

we stayed in this hotel last July for two weeks and found It to be very pleasant all round. The rooms were lovely and clean and a lovely size. we asked to move the second night as the noise from the disco next door was too much and we were moved within a couple of hours. we also locked ourselves out in the new room as we didn't realise the patio door locked instead of closed. we were back in our rooms within 20 minutes. We found our selves a table in the restaurant and that became ours for the duration of our stay, it didn't matter if we went in at 19.00 or 21.00, out table and waiter aong with wine were waiting. We did tip generously as a couple of pound a night is nothing to us but welcomed by the serving team and saved us wondering around looking for a table and trying to catch a busy waiters eye to get a drink. We are planning to go back this year for a week as we found it very good value for money and enjoyed our stay. Please remember that this is Tunisia and not England. Standards are a little different, and they cater for a lot of people at any one time. I have travelled extensively, to many stars of hotel and can honestly recommend this hotel to some-one going for a late deal, families with younger children or that is on bit of a budget.

Am sorry but i keep seeing bad reviews for the vincci hotel in djerba, personally i love it here ive been 4 times and have booked again for twice this year, i was their last in oct for my 17th and tbh had a better time their than i would of here so much am going back for my 18th! i saw on one persons review about paying for crepes and ice cream heres the thing yh its 2dinar(less than a quid) but it clearly states in the broucher that its not inclueded your all inclusive is breakie, lunch , the snack bar and dinner and of course your drinks. If your going to moan about the bar being full then bore off, they have 2 bars in the main area which are used alot and with so many guest they have to go round and get the glasses and wash them ready for the next person so there arent many people on hand to get you your drink straight away but best thing to do is order at least 2 at a time for yourself cos trust me its easier by far then keep going up and waiting even longer! all the staff their are nice and a good laugh, the bar staff are the best and the animation team, if you think there acting like a creep they arent (half the time anyway ) there trying to lesrn english as they mainly speak french thats why there always with the french they dont speak english properly only the basics so there not being rude, they just dont understand us fully and lets be honest we speak fast someof the time so their not going to understand us. please just dont let some bad reviews put you off because at the end of the day its what you make of the holiday and what you do with it!
