THIS IS NOT 5*. We visited this hotel for two weeks in 2012 and it was fantastic, however we returned in 2014 and what a big dissapointment. The food is poor paticularly at the weekend when the pools and restaurant are opened to none residents, lunch becomes hell with loads of ferrell kids running about in the restaurant. Towels in the room are not changed daily, on three occasions having used the same towel for THREE days I had to ask for them to be changed. On the balcony a huge chunk of masonry had fallen off the wall. The staff are fantastic and do their best but they are a bit thin on the ground. On the day before going home our room was not made up. In my opinion it's 3* at best. We will not be returning.

Room Tip: If your looking for 5* look elsewhere.

We chose this hotel for a family holiday for 10 nights all inclusive based in two bungalows outside the hotel. Upon Arrival, the reception staff could not do enough for you and assisted us with our cases and got us all drinks and seats awaiting room cards. The bungalows we stayed in were spacious, elegant and modern. The cleanliness was immaculate and the maid was extremely friendly and put rose petals on our beds daily to add extra effects. We had two bungalows both were extremely outstanding.

The food was really nice and varied daily, there was a barbecue by the beach each lunch time and a buffet in the main restaurant. The waiters that served us each morning and night were so friendly, always smiling and couldnt do enough for us. They had our drinks ready for us at the table and 'Lotfi' and 'Hatem' were the nicest waiters we could have asked for.

The animation team were amazing and so talented and made an effort to come & talk to us in the day especially 'Sam' and 'Malik'. The shows were very varied and entertaining!

We could not find one fault with this hotel or the staff in it, they were amazingly helpful, friendly and always smiling!! The cleanliness was immaculate and the food very lovely.

We are definitely coming back next year for two weeks, 10 nights was not enough!!!

Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Tunisia, Amazing!

Room Tip: Bungalows very spacious and cosy!!

Great value for money, wonderful service from check in to check out. Food was excellent in quality and variety, with themed nights including Tunisian, Asian and Mexican.waiters and staff all extremely helpful. Manager makes his way around all day checking in with guests, as did head of housekeeping. Beach excellent had no hassle from sellers just 've nice have a chat and say no, they don't mind, and I was woman on holiday with teenage daughter on our own. At no point did we feel unsafe so don't worry about this. Pools where lovely, no shortage of loungers, we tipped about 3-5 dinars for everything as there wages are so low. Rooms are huge( we had a bungalow) mini bar filled daily, full size bath and WiFi reached our bungalow so added plus, not sure this was the case for rooms further away.Would go back without hesitation.

Excellent fortnight. Hotel and staff all lovely - couldn't do enough to help us. Got in a bungalow, overlooking pool and near the sea. Would defo recommend asking if any of these rooms available. Meals all good - different everyday. We did sample the a la carte restaurants but the main restaurant just as good. Ample of sunbeds available both around the pools and beach.

Room Tip: Bungalows near the pool - we had 308 super view and position.

We chose this hotel because it was a Thomsons Platinum 5T having been recommended by close friends of how good the Rui chain was & we wanted guaranteed sun at the end of May. The outside of the hotel is typical of North Africa, a bomb site, rubbish & rubble everywhere, however, ignore that you don't have to venture out if you don't want to. We checked in & we were welcomed with a refreshing drink, they're lobby area is spacious & bright with a nice water feature, there is a bar area with tables & chairs. The room was clean & tidy we were lucky to be given a 2 bed & 2 bathroom bungalow, however, it was adjoining the cleaners store cupboard so we we're woken at 6am every day due to the clattering of trollies & maids chatting. The mini bar only had soft drinks & no wine or beers or snacks. I asked at reception for wine & beer & they sorry it's not allowed, however, the waiter said if I came to lunch or dinner with a plastic bag they would give me wine & beer to take back to the room!!! The breakfast has a good selection all you could think of, they are not very organised when it comes to the seating & relaying of tables, also the coffee is cold so every day we had to ask for a fresh pot of hot coffee, but it was decent coffee. The pool area is very well kept, clean & tidy, comfy sun loungers & the bar staff were very efficient, the plastic cups need changing as rather worn, the drinks are very limited all local brands, only red, white or rose wine which is Tunisian not nice & no cocktails only some sort of Sangria, no ice creams or lollipops which is the norm for an all inclusive holiday. No snacks only pancakes at 3pm could do with some ice cream to go with them. One very annoying thing is the entertainment by the pool, 11am water aerobics great if that's what you want to do but the music is soo loud that you have no choice but to listen to it, turn it down. The beach area is nice & kept clean & tidy, a few sellers but they are not a nuisance very friendly. Lunch can be eaten either in the main restaurant or by the beach bar, average. Dinner, the dinner is more organised you have your table set & you keep the same table everyday, food average again. There is only one bar area in the evening in the lobby so it's difficult to find a place to sit. We went to the Italian restaurant that was better food but you could only eat there once during your stay. Booking, that was a joke, you had to stand in a que in reception at 5pm the day before to book your table & they wanted to know what you wanted to eat, unreal. The wifi is terrible it only works in the lobby. We had all had enough of the place so ate out 2 nights at Hammamet's old quarter, worth a visit, we were only there for 1 week. Let's just say I could not weight to come home. I stayed in a 5T Thomsons Al a carte last year & they are worlds apart yet similar in price.

Room Tip: Choose a bungalow room by the bottom pool area.

We stayed in The Riu Palce in may for one week all inclusive , Lovley Hotel , We stayed in The Bungalow rooms The Rooms where huge with a double bed you could fit a family off four in , The rooms where cleaned daily , and there was also a free fridge which was replenished daily with water and 1 soft drink , and a free safety deposit box , some off the staff work very hard ,,mainly around the pool bar ... fhati and fuzzear ...i think thats how you say it .. are very friendly and do an excellent job..you can allways get a sunbed even after a bit off searching ,,..as the usual reserving off sunbeds goes on.. the pool towels are also free and changed as often as you like by way off a card.. Hiedi the bar manager also tries his best in the main bar to keep everyone happy as the waiters tend to go to the guests who tip the most .. if you are like us and tip for good service at the end off the week be prepared for a wait for your drinks .. allthough after speaking to Heidi after his return after a night off where we literally had to serve ourselves ..He apoligised and made sure me and my partner and the friends we had made at the hotel had our drinks served to us rather pronto after that ..The food was not the best we have had at other Riu hotels ..but you could allways find something to eat in the evening ..Breakfast However was certainly more catered to the continental they did seem to try their hand at The English breakfast but could not quite manage it .. sausages ..where hot dogs.. bacon bits only on the first day off our stay.. no mushhrooms.. no tomatoes whats left you ask ..yes eggs in all varations ..allthough they would make you a fresh omelette which where very tasty ... All in all we had a good holiday and made some lovley friends ..would we go back ..yes we probably would for the right price x

Enfidah airport is an absolute nightmare. Please don't expect to get through in less than 2 hours, unless you're very lucky or arrive at night. We arrived at 9:20 and didn't get through the passport control until 11am then had to wait around an hour for our baggage! SLOWLY! SLOWLY! This will probably be the worse experience in an airport!

Well, what can I say! Been back again this year and won't be going again. What a mess! The nightclub on the right hand side of the hotel now has an outside section, so now the sound affects the whole hotel. Most people were complaining about the terrible noise from the club, which goes on until 4 - 4:30am. We were given some earplugs by a very lovely Scottish couple which helped us get some sleep! The standards have gone down somewhat and we were very disappointed to say the least. The staff were still very friendly and helpful, which made things more tolerable and the rooms were lovely. Unfortunately, due to some of the Russian guests behaviour there was a lot of fighting (fisticuffs) in the foyer, basically due to drink. Also in the restaurant the same people were upsetting staff and other guests with their selfishness and greediness. We have never felt so intimidated on holiday before! The hotel is advertised as a 5*, but this is Tunisian 5* and perhaps only a 3+ in U.K. standards. I have certainly stayed in better 3* in the likes of Greece. If you are going to use the pools, please be careful, the tiles are starting to come lose and a few people are cutting their feet quite badly.

The WIFI in the hotel is ok, but I guess very poor compared with your bog-standard WIFI at home. You can get the WIFI in your room, but again it is very poor.

The hotel in general is good and we have always enjoyed ourselves, but things have changed dramatically over the past years, standards have dropped and we have decided not to return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: A good room would be actually in the hotel itself, not a bungalow, which are affected by the nightcl...
