We did our research into this hotel but were still dissapointed. Overall the hotel itself was lovely, room was spacious and all the hotel staff were really polite especially the animation team who were excellent and so friendly. However there are a few problems which i wouldnt expect to see at a 5* Thomson rated platinum hotel. Unless you were prepared to get up at 5.30am you did not get a sunlounger at either pool. People were up at that time putting their towels on and going back to bed despite it saying the hotel does not tolerate this in the information pack given on arrival. In one of the speciality restaurants we were booked in for the 8.30 sitting but because people were still sat in there from the 6.30 sitting we did not get in until 9.00. We were there for 2 weeks and during that time the menus for the 3 speciality restuarants stayed the same. . On a night the entertainment was on inside (due to the weather being too bad to have it outside) and the bar was not open, there was a waiter on getting each persons drinks which took at least half an hour. The only other bar open was within the hotel reception which you were lucky to get a seat in especially before the 2 sittings as people were hanging around waiting for the buffet to open.

Having said all that it is a good hotel overall but for me it was lacking in evening entertainment and variety and the hotel did not seem able to cope with the amount of guests. It was more a 4* certainly not a 5.

After an hour and 20min coach trip to Hammamet, we arrived. Make sure you have bottle water for the journey as it helps, very enjoyable seeing the sights and countryside on the way.
After pulling into the hotel grounds we knew we had made the right choice and it was more impressive when you entered the hotel walking up the red carpet.
Reception staff very very friendly and cheerful at all times. On arrival we were told to have lunch before going to our room. Food was excellent throughout our stay with plenty of choices, cooked fresh and washed down with bottles of wine, water and soft drinks, served by happy waiters.
We were allocated a bungalow suite which we hadn't paid extra for, which was excellent but it was in the block by the entrance gate with no views so we asked to be changed to the main hotel which is what we had wanted, After being told they were full but the charming receptionist said she would speak to the chief. At 5.30pm he came and told us someone had just vacated the room and we could have that one. This was a lovely suite on the 3rd floor, the view was over the mountains but we had evening sun everyday on our balcony, The room was vast with a seperate shower cabin, bath and seperate toilet. The bed was huge and the most comfortable we have ever had.
The pool areas were big but we found it impossible to get a sunbed there as they were reserved very early althrough people were told not to in the room booklet which they don't obviously read. However there were plenty of sunbeds uner unberellas on the beach with the beach bar nearby so we enjoyed relaxing with the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. Excellent sandy beach and the sea was great very shallow but beware of a slight incline on entering after which it is lovely.
Not a lot outside of the hotel but if you turn left at the gate, then right go to the main road and turn right , 100yds on the left is a small shop which is very reasonable and a lovely young girl who is friendly but doesn't hassle you.
We went into Yasmine Hammamet twice 5 Dinars (£2.50) each way. Very large Marina and some excellent shops to browse around on the main street which have fixed prices.
Beware if you go to Hammamet Medina (same price in taxi) -great if you want to experience the old style tunisia with guys hassling you to get you into their shops -they don't like it if you walk by! Too much for us but we knew that from previous visits.
Entertainment staff organised day time activiites if you wanted them and were very good, also I think did the evening shows but after meeting up with a lovely couple we spent every evening chatting over a drink after dinner so cannot comment on the entertainment.
It was a lovely relaxing hoilday with spa treatments if you wanted them although we did point out that there wasn't any english notices for the treatments so Joanne our rep was going to sort that out. Excellent clean, friendly and comfortable hotel.

well I know it sounds a bit mad to book a holiday that you are really not sure about but it was defintely with a certain trepidation we went on this holiday. I suppose mainly because of some of the horror stories of beggars and poverty. Well all I wanted from this holiday was a short flight from a local airport and on a Sunday and a fabulous hotel on a sandy beach. This hotel was the one that ticked all those boxes so here we go.

First impressions were fantastic, second not so good, my suitcase was not on the coach. The coach driver took us back to the last drop off and luckily it was there. Check in was a bit slow but we had a cold refreshing drink while we were waiting.
We had room 307 a bungalow right by the pool by the beach, how lucky we were with that. The room was really spacious although the ac was a little smelly we worked around that.
Meals in the buffet restaurant were excellent and the choice fantastic. The wine was weak and a bit bland but hey i got used to it and a bottle of Rose was always waiting by our table and we always finished it

The pool area was fantastic the sunbeds enormous and really comfy. It was uncrowded as well.

we only left the hotel twice once to go to Yasmine Hammamet which we loved and once to Hammamet which was ok, however if you like traditional, Hammamet might suit better.

Joanne the Thomson rep was superb and very helpful altho the excursion she sold us to watch the football was very poor, that was not helped by England playing so badly.

Many Thanks to Thomson for being superb from start to finish.
The only criticism I have was of everybody comparing the hotel to all the Riu Palaces in the Caribbean, yes they are grander and more restaurants etc but the brochure tells you quite clearly what to expect and we got what we expected......because we did our homework before we went.

Good Hotel with good food, service, pools, and a good clean beach. Realy helpfull staff with most English speaking. Stayed in main hotel rooms fully refurbished and really good, beds full super kings, walk in shower very good. Special restaurants OK but have had better. Main restaurant very good plenty of variety but 2 fixed sitting times a bit of a pain.
Good choice of food through out the day.
When we were there mainly older couples from all over europe. Not many kids. Entertainment sparse but ideal for a relaxing do nothing break. Will return again. Main draw back is when it rains in May it is all day and heavy.

We stayed here for one week in may and the weather was hit & miss which was a shame as there is nothing to do if it rains, the hotel is in a remote area although situated on the beach.
We started our holiday in one of the bungalows which although nice are not of the standard of the main building/hotel. I had already reviewed this on trip advisor, so, after the help of our Thompson rep "Joanne" (who was excellent) we were moved into what we fondly called the penthouse but realisticaly was a suite.
The decor is beautiful, beds very comfortable however, although there is a mini bar in the room, it is only ever filled with bottled water.
The main restaurant is large enough to accomadate everyone at all times except, it seems, in the evenings where you have to decide at the begining of your stay which sitting you want (1st or 2nd). The food is of excellent quality and variety, if you can't find anything to appeal your too fussy! The wine is served by the bottle at your table and the waiters are observant to know what you have at each visit.
In addition to the main buffet there are two further restaurants, Italian & Tunisian. Both worth a visit.
The drinks are typical of all inclusive, local brand weak but drinkable. Try the martinis (yum yum)
The two outdoor pools are cold but refreshing when the sun does shine. The grounds are immaculate & pretty, the are always staff walking around ensuring your comfort.
Our only negatives are the location and as mentioned the bungalows, if you are staying in one of these you have to make your way to the main building for the restaurants & bars, if it's raining you get soaking and there are no complimentary brollies in your room. A necessatie for the weather of tunisia.
All in all a lovely hotel and friendly helpful staff.
