this is a very well run hotel all members of staff are friendly and welcoming from reception to house keeping, gardeners We have now stayed at this hotel several times winter to summer and Xmas's and new year. we have always found the members of staff friendly and very helpful in all areas. The restaurant which is run by manual to a very high standard the food is excellent and a good choice as well and if you require a different menu they will assist you. the bars are friendly and welcoming all bar staff make you feel at home especially ben, mores, saber and annis we have often has a very good laugh with them and the other guests. entertainment team did see some changes over the last year with the original team going and then freddie returned in the summer so the entertainment has improved again. the reception staff especially mohammed, samir, sanya and ham are very welcoming and if you need any assistance with room requirements they will help. zouhair the hotel director, madam and her husband (the owners) run a very tight ship and are always at the hotel monitoring the day to day running and always monitor the staff with their attention to detail and guests requirements. the hotel has undergone a revamp over the last year especially reception personally i still prefer the old decor but new one is growing on me and look forward to the other changes planned. the beach attendants monitor all traders and do not allow them to pester the guests. the beach restaurant is excellent if you don't wish to leave the beach areas. all in all the best hotel we have stayed at and will continue to do so.thanks to every member of staff for making our holidays the best. keep up the good work and some of us know that none of you have a day off from the month of may until the end of October and we wish that you could because of all the effort you put in during your working day. we was very sorry to see mashood leave and hope he is OK in his new job as he is missed as well.

The Holiday did not start off well with our flight delayed for 3 hours, this meant we arrived at the Hotel untill 7 in the morning. The flight time leaveing is a disgrace because you lose a whole day and the Flight is only 3.15mins.
We did'nt get a drink but were given forms to fill in,a porter then took us to our Room, well we went into the Room and straight out again,it was a basic twin room and i had paid for a Superior Delux Twin with a Sea View. It as well i brought my invoice with me,i gave it too the receptionist who did'nt look at all happy we had turned the Room down.
We were told to go in for breakfast but we said we wanted a room to go to bed we had been up 24hrs,anyway we got the room which was lovely.
The health & saftey in the Hotel is'nt good,my wife feel twice becuse they had mopped the floor but there was no warning sign/the door stop in the room was a metal pin whish when i first went to put clothes in the wardrobe went thru my flipflops but luckily thru between my toes/from the bedroom to thr bathroom there was a small step 1 inch the front of it was rough and i kicked it a couple off times which was painfull/ the food which they cooked on the grill or bar b q was not cooked right thru, this happened with chicken and pork.
The food was plenty full but catered for the French but you wont starve and you can eat 24 hrs a day if you want to.
The drinks were also given out freely and even the champagne was free, most off the staff were very friendly, but i made the mistake of tipping every time which seem to make them less attentive, also i left out 10 dinars for the Maid each week and gave her 10 the day we left.but we got nothing for this in other hotels we have been in (Imperial Marahaba/Royal Kenz) the maids made swans etc with the bed sheets this maid did nothing other than clean the room.
We eat lunch every day at the beach restaurant which was lovely,we had the same table untill our waiter give it to a French couple and i had been tipping him 2 dinar everyday.
The highlight off the week was the band that played on the thursday they were brilliant.
The beach should have been beautifull, but was spoilt by smokers who just threw there fag ends on the sand the place was littered with butts, the sea was lovely and you could walk 50meters and still only be waist deep, and there was no rocks or seaweed, although on a couple off days there were small jelly fish.
The Holiday cost me £2400 was it worth it,not really the majority of the guests were French so we did'nt meet up with any one from the UK to have a drink with,in fact it was the most boreing Holiday i have been on, AND THE BED WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON, TERRIBLE FOR A 4 STAR HOTEL.
I have been to Tunisia 3 yrs running im going somewere else next year, yes the Hotel in many ways is excellent but it has its faults, and someone is going to get seriously hurt unless they start putting sighs were the floors are wet.
Iwould recomend this hotel to those who can speak french and do not mind bee=ing treated as a second class citezen.

We went to Tunisa on 22nd May for a week all inclusive through Thomas Cook. The first two days and the second to last day it chucked it down with rain...there was no entertainment other than to sit in the bar and listen to an old man play a funny instrument or go in your room and watch German/French TV.
The first day we arrived we was put in an apartment over looking the tennis courts. When we booked the holiday we had specifically asked for a pool/beach view so we went to the reception who confirmed to come back the next day. We went back the next day and we was sent away until later that afternoon. When we came back they told us it's too late now because all the hotel was fully booked...even though we had looked around and it wasn't! We told reception we would pay extra to have a sea view or even a bungalow (£40 extra per day) but he was very rude and told us basically to go away because our room was nice. The room was nice but we didn't pay extra for a sea view to just look at trees and a tennis court. So we decided to wait until we saw our rep the next morning.
We waited around 45 minutes for our rep and then was told by a cleaner he was in a different room advertised...so we went to the other room and explained why we was late and he wouldn't give us the time of day - he was rude and wouldn't help with our situation so we decided to leave it because we wasn't getting anywhere.
The days when it was sunny we sunbathed all day and relaxed by the pool - the pool staff were very helpful in bringing towels, etc. Waiters came around all the time asking for drinks and collecting rubbish.
On a night after dinner we would sit outside and watch the entertainment....which was not catered for the English! It was mostly in German or French and we couldn't understand what was going on most of the time! The beer was flowing though and we couldn't fault them with that.
We decided to have a Turkish Bath when it rained but it isn't like your normal Turkish Bath! We had to jump in and out of hot and cold pools of water then lay in a red hot sauna...to be honest i was expecting a massage, etc like you get in Turkey itself!
One night we went to the nightclub on the resort which was good fun as we met another couple who with spent the rest of the holiday with and are now good friends!
The food was repetitive though...we seemed to constantly eat eggs on toast, chips rice and bread for the whole holiday. Some days were better than others but alot was the same. If you are funny about your food its not really best for you to visit here.
Another night we went to the habour and walked around and ate at an English steak house called 'The Steak House' which was lovely! 1 litre bottles of stella for around £4.00. We also did some shopping on the beach front but be warned you do get hassled alot!! Especially in the market places!
We went to the italian restaurant in the complex which was horrible! We waited around 30 mins before even getting a drink never mind the food! But we also went to the Chinese restaurant which was nice and would recommend!
Overall the holiday was good apart from the hiccups at the beginning which was dissapointing that they didn't sort this out for us especially when we was willing to pay more money.

if you are a customer of hotel chains such as riu or iberostar or pallidium this hotel is not for you. if you are looking for a low budget value for money hotel and you can turn a blind eye to the shabbiness of the hotel this could be the hotel for you. when we arrived we were disappointed as we drove upto the hotel after dropping other holiday makers off at their hotels ours looked a bit dull and small in comparison. we were shown to a standard room basic but clean and our thoughts were to upgrade to a beach bungalow but although the bungalows are stunning compared to the standard rooms we could not justifie the cost as we were still using the same facilities as on the standard room tarrif round the complex
in our rooms were complimentary toiletteries, slippers and use of bath robes but no hair dryers and an unstocked mini bar we also saw elderly guests struggling with the stairs to their rooms. come on management get it right we need hairdryers supplied in rooms and mini bars stocked with the basics water, juice and wine forget the toilettries slippers and robes and complimentary bowls of fruit that was never eaten as fruit was plentiful at every meal and snack bar, reserve ground floor rooms for very young elderly and infirm and do not put misleading photographs of a luxury spa pool with water jets on your website until you have built it ,do not use the excuse that the indoor pool is to be refurbished as a spa pool next season it is an unexceptable reason to mislead guests.a free massage is available to guests but the hotel does not freely advertise this service, what is very annoying is a price list of spa treatments is not available which the hotel is loosing potential revenue by not promoting.
the food is either mainly chicken or fish, the desserts are delicious and plenty of freshly prepared salad and fruit. the three ala carte restaurants you have to pre book but you have to decide what you wish to eat from the printed menu when you book the restaurant of your choice 24 hours before you eat. however i would recommend the tunisian restaurant. i have a very iffy tummy but did not suffer in any way. we did come across a couple of people who had suffered, my advise is if you eat hamburgers at lunch time go to the pool bar as the beach outlet tends to get very busy and the burgers may not be cooked as well as the pool bar . the drinks flow freely at this hotel and sundowners and canapes around the outside theatre was a real welcome as the sun set a really lovely time of day most welcomed after a long soak in the sun on a lovely beach, perfect. the wine was delicious and although no branded drinks were available an array of cocktails as were sparkling wine or champagne as the hotel refirred to it ,typical of this hotel trying so hard to run before it can walk as the saying goes.
the most enjoyable activities we found was the sea arobics with brian and his hillarious catch phase 'madame change positions' you really will have fun if you join in your tummy muscles will get a real work out from all the laughter, also this hotel has stables with many lovely horses my favourite horse was the grey who is in the first stable please give her some apple if you visit the stables she was a little depressed at first but was soon chomping at the bit looking forward to her daily treat of apple we only gave her what was left over from our apple that we ate we never took from the hotel to feed the animals only leftovers.
over all we found all the staff to be very pleasant nice friendly people and made us very welcome, we did find that the main reception staff were a little stressed at times but that is down to the hotel not providing location maps with facilities located and guest asking them the same questions over and over again ,even board maps with you are here dotted around the complex would have helped, management please take note. we travelled with thomas cook and our rep lorraine reynolds was first class she is expecting a baby soon and takes maternity leave in september if you are soon to go on holiday the poor lady has cravings for iron bru and walkers crisps which is unobtainable in tunisia so if you want to put a smile on a heavily pregnant hard working mum to be face, please oblige. we did have a slight problem with a flood in our room due to the air conditioning failing my advise to you would be to stand firm with the management to resolve any issues that you may be unlucky to occur during your stay. would i go back to les orangers .no. but their were lots of people who did and many who plan to return in the future we did meet lots of lovely people on holiday there if you have already booked your holiday i am sure you will have a lovely time but i will stick to the hotel brands that i know and enjoy and save a little bit harder so that i can do so. as a budget holiday in tunisia you can't go wrong.

Now preparing to go to Egypt in a few weeks, I thought it high time to review my excellent holiday last year.

Some hotels that are AI have hidden charges for extra options such as Hammams, Shisha Cafe etc. This hotel was truly AI, and everything including activities, and the obligitory shisha included. The only extra was to buy washing powder to use in the onsite laundrette. Again, AI is AI here.

In summary: Clean, Excellent choice of food, Entertainment was okay. On the whole, I will be going back - for definite. And with friends who are Tunisian nationals, I will have to return. On this subject, get yourself to Tunis/Carthage. There is also a good train service from Bir Bou Regba to Sousse, and up to Tunis.

If you go, say hello to Ben the barman/waiter for me. Tell him Norman from England was here last year, and he will be sending you t-shirt in the post.

Travelled with wife and friends on 26th June for two weeks. This was our fourth visit to Tunisia so we knew what to expect. This Hotel was by far the best overall we have stayed in. The food was great, although the three other restaurants that you had to book in advance were slightly disappointing. Wine is served by the bottle at all meals. There are also snack bars at various locations including the beach where you can get pizza, chips and pannini. The rooms were spacious and very clean. There are two bars in the Hotel and one on the beach, food and drink are available 24hrs. The staff from pool boys, porters, waiters, bar staff and the animation team are all very friendly. The gardens and reception are immaculate and well maintained. Pool area is clean although there is limited beds. It also has a kids pool. There are plenty of beds on the beach which is excellent and also plenty of shade if you need it. The guests are a mixture of nationalities with French (who can be very loud and rude) and Germans being in the majority. Apart from that I can't praise this Hotel enough.

I have just written a more detailed review under the other entry as "The Orangers" here at Trip Advisor which oddly features separately and higher up the list. Both are the same hotel and ressort, however, so check there for more reviews.
