“Animation team fantastic”

It's not the best hotel I have ever been to but not the worst, food is ok you won't starve. The best thing about this hotel is the fantastic animation team slim, Hassen, Sam, mamadhu and all the rest of the lads make the holiday!! they work exceptionally hard and always have a smile on there face you just can not fault them at all the holiday would not have been as good without them constantly entertaining us.

We have just returned from a 2 weeks holiday here and although its not the best I've stayed in its not the worst we went with 5 young children and they had a brilliant time the children's club was fantastic the people who ran it were brilliant our daughter didn't want to leave, most of the staff are fantastic you get the odd few who aren't,the only thing is the cleanliness in the toilets around the pool needed cleaning more regular, the food is fine a bit samey but still edible, you do get very rude people tho that seem to think they don't have to queue we had a great time and would definitely go back

Couldn't fault anything (apart from wifi and a/c) - but hey I don't need to catch up every day and worked around the heat in the room at night. Room cleaned daily, food and drink plentiful, staff wonderful. Highlights - Staff, On the beach, International quiz everyday by the pool. I won 3 times. Thanks for the bingo tickets!

Room Tip: Get one with working a/c

we stayed at this hotel for a week, it was a family holiday with 2 adults, 18 year old and a 14 year old, the room was good it was basic and clean although one time I found hair in the bath when I first got there, I wouldn't go here if you wanted good wifi though, the wifi is free but facebok and the internet don't work, you can only use whats app, so its great, theres a quite pool at one side and at the other side is the pools with the chutes and flumes, which is so good ad lifegaurds are always friendly, the food was okay, it was the same thing everyday so I had toast in the morning and soup for lunch and dinner as the soup was good, and you could get crepes from the snack bar, the waiters were always so friendly and always so helpful, the staff are just amazing, 2 days into our holiday and our waiter would just pick up our cups are get our usual, he was so good, the drinks are good and at night they do loads of cocktails, theres one called bob marley,, its a must try so good, and bar staff were amazing, always talking to you and one man just knew what I wanted so he made it and put it at the side from me when I went there, th4e toilets are not so great but they just need a good clean, the entertainment was ok, some of it was just so stupid but the entertainment staff try, they done kids dances and even got all the adult withouts kids up too,k the kids club and entertainment staff were good, always giving you a smile and talking to the kids and helping you out, so overall the hotel was good but you just cant fault the staff, they are amazing.

Room Tip: no in room wifi, you only got wifi at reception

We stayed here for 11 nights with daughter 18 and her boyfriend and upon arrival at 11pm after being shown our room were directed to the snack bar for late meal. We went to Thomson welcome meeting where we were told about the two sittings at the restaurant and if you weren't happy with your sitting the rep would help to change. We were second sitting which was what we wanted and during the whole stay we never found the earlier family at our table and it was always cleared and laid for us. Plenty of food to choose from both English and Tunisian and throughout the day the BBQ was open - you could have spent your holiday eating all day if you chose! Rooms were clean and plenty of storage - maids cleaned daily. Entertainment staff worked really hard and the waiters worked tirelessly. Beach was great and and sunbeds free however still the same old routine of people getting up early and putting towels out round and pool and beach.
We has has really relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The only reason I would not return it this hotel is because it was advertised in brochure as having adult only pool which was not the case. My children are all grown up and we chose this hotel purely for this reason and this was the only let down.

Where to begin... We got there at midnight after a 2 hour wait at passport control at Enfida airport. After being all inclusive before, when arriving after dinner time a complimentary plate is usually provided for you to the room and a bottle of water...not here. We were given nothing and had no access to any drinkable water until 8am the next morning (the last drink being on the plane). When we arrived we had wristbands thrust onto our arms, made to fill out an information form each and sent on our way to our room (no explanation of the hotel, times etc and no welcome).

On arrival at our small twin room our bathroom had leaked and the floor was completely flooded- after demanding to change rooms we were put on the phone to reception who said the hotel was full then hung up (a man came with a towel to mop it up telling us the shower drip must have caused it by running around the bath onto the floor). Great start. Also, our door didn't shut properly unless slammed (later in the holiday we were unfortunate enough to have the maid not close it properly too...luckily nothing was taken).

Our first morning we went to the dining area to find it heaving with people, nowhere to sit and discovered we were to be assigned tables to sit at all holiday on a 2 sitting basis (early and late) but we only found this out after asking an English couple as when we asked a waiter we followed him round for 5mins also with no explanation of what to do etc. We felt unimportant and treated rudely by most members of staff (with exception to bar staff).

We eventually found out we were on the late lunch and dinner sitting so were always left with other peoples dirty plates left on our table, no cutlery and dirty tablecloths (although this seemed ongoing at all tables throughout the stay). The restaurant was outright dirty. Water...no bottled water, and no bottles allowed to be filled up. Just a "filtered" tap of water in the dining room with a flow so slow just to fill up the child sized plastic cups we were given took forever- and with the hotel as full as it was (and nowhere near enough dining room space for all) queues formed quickly EVERYWHERE.
People of all nationalities didn't bother queuing for anything, rudely pushing in everywhere (especially kids who were left to their own devices).

The quality of food was the worst I have ever eaten and to think how much we paid for the holiday the food was a DISGRACE. The same food every.single.day. No variety, pizza, pasta, salad with a funny taste, meat with no labels, and oily vegetable tomato stuff (only way to describe it). Luckily we booked two excursions including meals and ate out once for cheap.

The "entertainment" was ridiculous. Not sure whether it's because we were English that we didn't understand the "sketches" or whether they were just not funny in the slightest. Karaoke in all languages, commentary in all languages with English used the least frequent, transvestite shows- all of which could have been performed better by school productions.

We booked two excursions: the zoo and roman amphitheatre which were brilliant (being out of the hotel was great) we spent the rest of our time on the beach and by one of the pools which was also good.

Overall this is not a 3 star hotel- 2 star at a push and the fact that it's all inclusive is just poor quality and variety of food, helpfulness and general cleanliness.

Will not return- ever! Shame as if we stayed somewhere else we might return to Tunisia, but not now- especially with the airport delays through customs inbound AND outbound.

A couple we met on an excursion were staying at Holiday Village by First Choice down the road from us...should have stayed there- sounded brilliant- food, pools, bottled water, staff, service and entertainment (apparently britains got talent people). STAY THERE NOT HERE!

I recently went on a family holiday (although the youngest member is 18) to Tunisia, and we stayed in the Omar Khayam hotel. On first arrival we received our wristbands (although their use of different colours is still unknown to us) and a very nice maintenance man showed us to our rooms (3 double and 1 single). The rooms themselves were good, with comfortable beds, a balcony with a beautiful view, and a decent shower; however none of our rooms had a remote control for the television (although this did not particularly bother us).
The food was good considering the amount they had to cook and they had a good variety. However, the sign were never clear on what was actually in most of the dishes, for example the spaghetti was not labelled as 'seafood' when it actually had prawns, squid etc. This was incredibly bad for us as myself and my brother both cannot eat seafood, so it's a good job someone noticed the prawns! Our biggest complaint (apart from incredibly rude children that are not under the control of their parents), was the table 'system' in the main restaurant. I call it a 'system' because it didn't actually appear to work! Each group/family was assigned a table, which they shared with another group/family. However there was not enough room for both families to eat at the same time, so if you were hungry and the other family was already eating- you had to wait (for about an hour- sometimes longer!) The fact that there was a 'first sitting' and a 'second sitting' was NEVER explained to us, and we were never told which sitting we were meant to be apart of- so we had to guess. Unluckily for us, we were second sitting, which meant that we weren't allowed to eat (at the earliest) until 8:30pm. We had no choice in this timing and the restaurant nor the receptionist which booked us in, asked us for our preference (which would have been first sitting due to a family member having blood sugar problems). Not only this, but on our last day at the hotel; 5 of us decided to eat in the restaurant for dinner rather than in the snack bar, we found our designated table and placed our drinks down. Whilst one person waited at the table, 4 of us went to the buffet. When we returned, our drinks and books were being moved onto another table by a very rude family (who apparently shared our table). To my astonishment, the waiting staff simply asked which was our table (to which I pointed) and said "oh, okay then". This is when we learned that the restaurant staff had gotten rid of our booking and we no longer were supposed to eat in the restaurant (even though we had booked 7 full days). This then meant that we had to split up and sit on 2 separate tables. As if this wasn't hassle enough, two members of family (sat on a different table to myself) were then told to get up and move to another table, BY A WAITER while they were ALREADY EATING and ended up leaving the restaurant, although the woman to whom the table belonged to was apologetic and offered to sit elsewhere. During the 20 minutes that we were sat eating, we were constantly harassed by the waiting staff, asking 'which table was yours?', 'why are you sat there?' and 'you're not supposed to be eating yet'! They were incredibly rude which ended in me not even wanting to finish my meal, and so we went outside to the snack bar.
The hotel has many good facilities, such as a tennis court, a gym, an inside pool etc, however you have to find these for yourselves as they are not pointed out to you. I would definitely recommend the camel ride (a man will approach you in the hotel) and the para-sailing on the beach! If we were to visit Tunisia again, we all agreed that we would not stay in this hotel again, however this is mainly due to the amount of (rude) children running around the hotel (and stomping on the stairs in flip-flops at 7am every morning).
I would also advise anyone to learn a little French, as this is their main language.
Overall, a pleasant stay but would definitely only recommend for families with young children, as there is plenty for them to do, but not so much for teenagers and young adults.
