The Hotel was superb. Very well run by the Manager Walid Rakez. The rooms were spotless. The food was 1st class and the animation team never stopped, nothing was to much trouble for them. We will be returning most defiantly. Mr Jason Healy and Lisa Cox.

Flight from Bristol was delayed 9 and quarter hours, which didn't give a good start to the holiday, Thomas cook eventually got a plane from Holland to fly us to Tunisia. Arriving at the Hotel at 8.45 we were told to go straight to the restaurant to get some thing to eat, as it closed at 9 o clock. Reception staff quickly checked us in and we were given 2 rooms next to each other which is what I requested. The holiday was another girly holiday, me and my daughter and my friend and her daughter. This was our 5th time back at the Averroes, and it wont be my last. We had a refurbered room which was lovely on the 4th floor over looking the sea perfect. The room was kept lovely and clean, and it was nice to have towel art through the week. All staff at the hotel are amazing, a lot of them remembered us from other years. Marbruck our waiter again was brilliant always remembered what we liked to drink and kept our glasses topped up at all times. The food I didn't think was as good as previous years, but still always found some thing to eat, the salad bar is great. Entertainment staff were really friendly, it was lovely to see Tito back he is so funny. There was lots going on in the day but they didn't hasstle you if you just wanted to lay on the sunbed. I missed their song Maria Roma which they use to dance to at different times of the day, and a lot of the guests would join in. Other years there would be a lot of dancing in the out side bar but none this year, we really missed that, all evening entertainment was in a room behind the bar. I love sitting outside on holiday as you cant do it that often in England with the weather. To all the staff, from cleaners, chefs, waiters, gardeners, reception, life guards, entertainment team and management, thank you for another lovely holiday. hopefully will be back for the 6th time next year. Jayne and Jessica

We have just returned from Averroes. a one week late booking, Although there are a couple niggles that if rectified would make this hotel the four star it displays. There is nothing that would spoil your holiday! As the days went on it ticked more and more boxes and we will return!
Firstly the staff are lovely whether you tip or not! But It is a tipping culture in Tunisia and a couple of dina goes along way to better quicker service. They deal with alot of Russians and Germans that dont even say please or thank you so they appreciate it and love the English! The food is varied, good and hot and as long as you dont put everything on one plate every night it doesn't get repetitive. The restaurant has plenty of seating inside and out. The breakfast altho not traditional English fry up.. had fresh made pancakes, pastries and omelettes which are delicious as are the pancakes at four pm.
The beds are a little hard and I have a problem with my back but after the first night I asked about a mattress topper, within two hours it was on my bed. Our maid was lovely and along with good cleaning she made swans with towels and left pretty flowers on our beds, I in return left English sweets and toblerones as gifts. she was very happy and came especially to say thank you.
The waiters look after you well.. filling your drinks and preparing a lovely decorated table for you on your last night. The entertainment staff are lovely they work really hard to help you enjoy your days and nights, They do very long hours, they have a laugh and always with a smile on their faces. Of course they are going to try and get you involved in the all the activities its their job...They had fun doing water polo, archery etc which my partner did while I watched from my sunbed. If you say No then they accept that..They teased me that I was lazy but all in good humour..
Our pool boys and waiters from the pool bar were brilliant, having a little joke and bringing us sunbed toppers and remembering our favorite drinks. Chaikha being exceptional! The pool was lovely with jacuzzis and bubble beds. The pool wasn't freezing as someone had said previously it was refreshing in the heat and I spent many hours floating on my inflatable ring..
The coffee shop doesn't serve coffee, you have to fetch it from the bar. It wouldn't be much to put a coffee machine in there but its not the end of the world to fetch one from the lobby bar. Our landing carpet on the top floor didn't get hoovered for a few days which was something we thought would be expected of a four star!
Our room was above the entertainment and bar area but was quiet from around 11pm it did have a few scuffs on the walls which you would expect.. but it was clean and freshly painted. The beds are a little hard. they could do with slightly softer mattresses.
The seaview was lovely to watch from our balcony and the beach clean..we used the kayaks a few times. Really cheap to do any of the other sea activities but pedloes and kayaks are free.. Overall We met some lovely people this week, Staff and other holiday makers. We've had a wonderful holiday and are already looking at arranging to go back to Averroes and meet up with the people we've met!

Room Tip: Request a Seaview .

Wow where do I start? My parents took my husband and I and our two small children aged 3 and 2 for 11 days to the Averroes hotel, my parents have actually stayed at this hotel before but this was my husbands and I’s first time along with our children. Our first impressions was wow, the hotels lobby and entrance was fabulous and as we made our way around the hotel and to our room it had the same luxurious feel throughout.  The rooms were spacious and ideal with inter connecting rooms, they had a safe (chargeable) mini fridge with water, a separate toilet to the bathroom. Only advice is ladies take your own hairdryer as the one on the wall in the bathroom isn’t very powerfull. Rooms get cleaned daily with fresh towels etc.  The maids do an outstanding job.The buffet style restaurant was lovely with plenty of choice, the food was lovely and we really enjoyed our meals, the staff in the restaurant  -  chefs, cooks and waiters were all very friendly and they absolutely loved our children, making a fuss of them everyday which they loved.  Between mealtimes there are cakes and pancakes available as well as ice cream for the kids. The pools and sun lounging area was excellent and very spacious.  The grounds are kept immaculate along with the rest of the hotel.  We loved the swim up pool bar and its tasty cocktails. What has made our holiday a one to remember is the animation team (Joe – The Chief, Hana, Titi Mike, Black, chocho, zube, momo, nemo) they work such long hours entertaining the guest and making sure everyone is having a lovely holiday. My children and I went to kids club most days and both my children loved having fun with “Hana” and “Titi”, you wont meet two nicer girls than these lovely girls, they were excellent with the children and kept them busy with various activities.  On an evening every night  (8.30pm-9pm) there is a mini disco and our children  loved  it although I may have enjoyed it more than the kids.   (We actually bought the mini disco CD and have played it everyday since)The animation team made such a fuss of us all, they loved giving the kids daily high 5s and my little girl fell in love with “Mike- nice hair” who always made time to play with her around the pool.  My little boy made a best friend in “Black” who always made us laugh.  All the animation team made an effort to come and speak with us everyday making us feel very welcome. The animation team host various activities during the day, ie darts, bowls, yoga, water aerobics, archery, volley ball just to mention a few then on an evening they will put on various entertainment at around 9.30pm, the cabaret shows are not to be missed, we absolutely loved them and have never laughed so much. This holiday has been fantastic and myself and our children actually cried on the last night as we didn’t want to leave and we felt we had made good friends with the animation team as well as some of the other staff.  Its been almost a week since we returned home and the kids are already asking when they can go back to see Hana, Titi, Mike and Black. The only negative about this holiday was 11 days was not long enough.Well done and thank you to everyone at the averroes, you’ve given us an amazing holiday to remember. Claire xx

We were delighted with our choice of hotel for our first visit to Tunisia in April. The hotel has beautiful, airy and spacious public areas which are comfortable to sit in and offer a lovely view through large windows towards the main pool, the terrace and the sea beyond. Clearly some hard work goes into keeping the gardens immaculate and we spent a lot of time sitting in the shade of the terrace, enjoying this little oasis with its pretty water features and plants.
There are a number of seating areas around the reception and the bar, the only drawback being that the wi fi connection only works in the immediate vicinity of the reception desk. This meant that sometimes our party had to split up when someone wanted to use a tablet to check emails etc., whilst others wanted to sit in the bar.
We paid extra for a sea view with a balcony and thought that it was money well spent. The sunsets were breath-taking and when we had to get up early for our flight home we also managed to see the view shortly after sunrise - fantastic.
Our room was elegantly furnished and decorated with lots of storage and hanging space, a good-sized bathroom and a separate toilet and bidet. Initially we found the choice of TV channels very limited but after my husband retuned the TV we suddenly had lots of extra movie channels and no shortage of entertainment.
The biggest attraction of this hotel for us was the excellent cuisine. There is enormous choice and the standard of food is very good. Particularly impressive is the dessert table - the sugar sculptures and elaborate patisserie are stunning so don't forget to take a camera to dinner! The service is also very professional and prompt and the friendly waiters seem to be able to memorise your favourite tipple with ease. Small tips are greatly appreciated and well-deserved.
The main purpose of this holiday was to relax and recharge and we certainly achieved our aim. We didn't watch the animation team's performances because we found them a bit too loud and frenetic but I know that some guests have praised this aspect of the hotel and the team certainly seemed to work exceptionally hard.
The weather wasn't quite warm enough for us to use the outdoor pool but we still made a lot of use of the outside space and the proximity to the beach is another bonus at this hotel. There's an indoor pool available too. It's slightly irritating to have people trying to sell you spa packages and excursions when you're trying to relax - the hotel's employees are charming and know when to give up but there are also some salesmen who trespass into the grounds and are more persistent. Make sure you know which ones are genuine before you sign up to anything and politely but firmly decline if you're not interested.
We made the most of the all-inclusive drinks - we worked our way through the cocktail menu during the week and we also enjoyed the hot drinks which are always available at a self-service station near the bar and which are accompanied by a tray of cakes or biscuits mid-afternoon.
We loved this hotel and this area of Tunisia. We went on two organised trips and we also hired a car and driver for a further excursion but there's still much more that we'd like to explore so we have ambitions to go back. There are some wonderful archaeological sites within an easy drive of Hammamet and some of the most beautiful mosaics and artefacts we've ever seen but if that doesn't interest you, there's plenty going on at the Averroes and in the Yasmine area to keep you busy, entertained, pampered and well fed!

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a beautiful sea view.
