Having just returned from a 2 week stay over the Christmas holiday, I HIGHLY recommend this venue for persons seeking quality, comfort, tranquil location, personal and attentive service. What an amazing facility! I was impressed with the warm welcomes I received not just upon my arrival, but every day of my stay, from employees and clients. The manager, Nuno Neves, set the standard for personal srvice with his numerous contacts with each client daily. The Executive Chef personally supervised meals, welcoming and interacting with each client, soliciting personal likes and needs. This attention to individual detail was also displayed by the wait service, bar staff, and housekeeping personnel. Hedia, a supervisor of the housekeeping staff, displayed much pride and professionalism in the work of her department. The number of return clients, as well as solo women travelers, attests to the well-deserved loyality, sense of safety & security offered. In this time of austerity and political change, this oasis of comfort and stability is much appreciated. At all times I felt at ease and relaxed, as if at a 2nd home. Bravo!

Room Tip: Request room on upper floor, pool and seaside view.

We were recommended this hotel by friends, its on the sea and very near club med. We went before and during this christmas, booking it ourselves and flying to Tunis with BA. The hotel had organised a taxi to meet us at the airport.
The weather was only fair, but some sun and quite warm. The hotel has excellent facilities mostly free,eg outdoor pool [too cold this time] but a large indoor pool and loungers etc. Nice Turkish baths, sauna. Massage / spa type services /hairdresser were available but extra. The bedroom was very spacious indeed, with a nice big balcony and sea view - separate clothes hangng area and big bathroom. Excellent room service, TV but limited stations . All the staff were very attentive and friendly and the general manager Nuno was always out and about - knew who we were, and asking if all was OK etc. He ate in the restaurant.
We were on half board, which was enough, as the food [buffet] was v good and plentiful.
Special dinner was arranged for Christmas day, and the hotel made a real effort go get in the festive mode.
Overall highly recommended.

We've just returned from a week at the Riu Palace Oceana. One of the best holiday resort hotels I've ever stayed in. Staff very courteous and friendly, food excellent. Manager - Mr Nuno NEVES - seemed always around and anxious to meet and greet. His wife and family ate in the restraurant. Quite a few Tunisian families - all with very well bahaved children. Probably not the place to take teenagers. Despite the Thomson rep's best endeavours to stop us, we travelled independently and very widely on three days - by louage to Tunis on one day; by taxi to Bulla Regia and Dougga on another, and to Cap Bon on the third. We had read about accusations of theft from rooms - and on the fourth day our camera 'disappeared'. What to do ? We decided to sleep on it. A good thing too. The following morning it reappeared at Reception, returned by our taxi driver, some careless tourist had left it in the back of his cab.......
Tunisia's a lovely place for tourists right now as there are not many. Not good for Tunisia. As always you need to check carefully to make sure you're not being ripped off...too much.

Room Tip: In the middle facing the pool and sea - second floor is 433, 434, 435, third (top floor) is 5 etc. Didnot see the suites, but Thomson dont offer them.

From the moment I stepped through the door the welcome from the staff and the first site of the interior was fantastic and the friendliness and helpfulness stayed with me for the remainder of my stay.. The food was great with plenty of variety, if you wanted something special you only had to ask.. A fantastic experience, I cannot praise it enough.

Room Tip: Select one with view over the pool and sea.

My brother and I have just returned from a week at the Riu Palace Oceana. The trip was booked through the VIP Selection of Jetair. What a great find!!! From the moment of our arrival, we felt at home and this feeling did not change throughout the entire holiday. Our rooms were 2 connecting Junior Suites and they were spacious and kept spotless. The entire staff were friendly and never failed to be attentive even at the slightest request. The garden with its exceptional landscaping and the beach are very relaxing. The variety of food never gave us a dull moment. As this was the low season, some of the facilities were closed, However, the hotel provided enough options on the menu to keep us fully satisfied.
This is definitely the best Riu in the country! For those who are a bit reluctant to travel to Tunesia, we traveled on our own to Hammamet Nord and with Tui to Tunis and the surrounding areas. The country feels absolutely safe, even safer than certain parts in my own place.
A big thank you to the Director, Mr. Nuno Neves, and to the entire staff! Thumbs up and we will certainly recommend this place to our friends and we will come back as soon as possible!
