Returned Wednesday last. Our second all inclusive visit within six months. Requested sea view third floor - the view was amazing (room 534) which got morning balcony sun only.

A Truly Five Star Tunisian Hotel. Thank you again to all management and staff who made our holiday perfect.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a great hotel with very low-key, but professional entertainment, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are suites. If you want afternoon balcony sunshine best contact hotel

We stayed in this hotel during the February school half term and chose it because it would not be overrun with school kids - we were right and therefore had a very relaxing time.

The hotel staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. I was very impressed that a plated meal and complimentary wine was available when we arrived, despite it being passed 2130 hrs.

We had a free upgrade to a Junior Suite, which was huge. It was exceptionally clean (thanks to Houda). We were in room 307, it did not overlook the pool area and lawn but had a great view north to Old Hammamet (you could still see the Sea).

The food was great, and despite it being a buffet, there was always lots of choice and it was always piping hot. You could even get food cooked to order right in front of you - very impressive. The local wine was also worth a try - Very nice. We were half board and found that you could easily have enough at breakfast to see you through until dinner, however there was a good restaurant serving lunch if we did get a bit peckish!

The pool area is fantastic, however the weather was not kind to us and therefore it was often too cold to sit outside - the main circular pool was invigoratingly cold! There is a good indoor pool and an excellent spa and fitness centre, which we used on several occasions.

This is great hotel and I would definitely stay there again if it was not for the rather run down and shoddy nature of the local resort of Yasmine Hammamet. The street vendors were pushy, abrupt and at some points completely inappropriate. I understand that this is part of the local culture, however some of the vendors refused to take no for an answer and were overly rude and aggressive.

If you are after a hotel in which you can relax, unwind and you are not bothered about going outside the hotel go no further.... it is great.

Hotel - Magnificent.
Food - Fabulous.
Rooms - Tremendous.
Staff - Exceptional.
Grounds - Perfect.
Weather -Excellent.

Recently returned from a very relaxing week at this fantastic Riu hotel. Full marks to Thomson for a cracking half board package, very reasonably priced. This is probably the nicest hotel we have had the pleasure of staying in. Everything was perfectly suited to the type of holiday we wanted, lazy, relaxed, good food and tremendous facilities. Oh,and it really does make a difference when you don't have to use skulduggery and stealth to bag a sun lounger!
Every compliment I would wish to pay has already been well documented in previous reviews, so I will try to give honest thoughts and tips for anyone thinking of staying here.
Please take the opportunity of a conducted tour of Hammamet Medina with " Mr. Moustache". He works from the hotel and will escort you through the Medina and give you an insight into the local culture which we found very interesting and somewhat humbling. The trip is free but I would recommend a decent tip.
Jasmine Hammamet is a £2 taxi ride away and is more modern and cosmopolitan. Visit the Medina then head for the seafront where a pleasant walk along to the Marina for a coffee before the taxi back will fill a very pleasant few hours.
Unfortunately for us there were two downsides to our holiday. Firstly the treatment of the horses which were walked and galloped endlessly up and down the beach, touting for business in the hot sun didn't sit too well with us. Secondly we were surprised at the amount of rubbish and litter that was left lying everywhere in the streets - no one seems to bother.
These two issues were only minor and didn't detract from the wonderful experience we had. We would unreservedly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing and luxurious holiday at this splendid hotel. Thank you to the management and staff for a fabulous week.
PS. To the lovely couple from Bromley -yes we are still waiting for our rug to be delivered!!
PPS. Gentlemen require trousers in the restaurant in the evening.

Just stayed 7 nights at the Riu Palace Oceana Hotel - a lovely relaxing hotel with welcoming, friendly staff. The hotel rooms are spotless and spacious, along with the public areas. The buffet food was well presented and fresh and the spa area was superb. Great value for money and I will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Select a Sea View if possible.

If you are looking for a lovely, relaxed holiday then this is the hotel for you!!! The staff are excellent and attentive and cannot do enough for you (please please go in a free tour of the Medina with Mr Moustacheo, you will find him outside the jewellery shop selling golf tours, he is a gem and we loved him, it is free but please tip him as he does a great tour!!!)

Food at this hotel can yes be a little repetative as others have said but in my opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!! It is amazing, hot and fresh and they do a different theme each night. The desserts are out of this world, do not miss out on those!!!!!

Rooms are very spacious and clean with wonderful views all around!

All in all this hotel is great, it was very quiet when we went due to it being the start of the season so it was a bit of a shock after the chaos that homelife brings, but we soon settled in a really didn't want to leave!!!!

We will be back as soon as we can get there and would not even bother looking at going to another hotel (unless we went to another area, Hammamet is not the place to go if you like lots to do!!!)

Thank you for a lovely week Oceana!!!!!!! See you again soon

Just returned from a week at the Oceana Palace, never been to Tunisia before so was unsure what to expect, have to say things did not get off to a good start taking 90 minutes to clear passport control at Enfidah airport, why Thomson have around 9 flights arriving within a 20 minute window is beyond me the airport just cannot cope.
However the Oceana, what an entrance, absolutely spectacular, the reception staff were excellent, we had a room overlooking the gardens, pool and sea, the bedroom itself was enormous, never slept in a bed as large, hardly saw the wife all week, seriously I would imagine at least 4 people could have slept in the bed. There is a dressing area, decent size bathroom and shower. The gardens were quiet (no kids) and well manicured, plenty of room, beds etc were well spread out, with the man providing the covers/mattresses small tip required, 1dinar is fine (40p) the outside pools are clean, there is also a heated indoor pool, and a spa area.
We went all inclusive, the food is all buffet service, the choice is tremendous, the breakfast is mainly set up for European's but you can get your omelettes, bacon eggs etc. lunch has a vast array of salads, hot fish, meat, pasta dishes the waiters are very attentive in serving the drinks and clearing the table, evening dinner once again is buffet with themed nights, Italian and Tunisian whilst we were there.
Coming now to the staff, the maids left decorations of all types on the bed each day, the drinks waiters were very good, little tip each time is good, and the general manager Mr Zaibet seems to be always around and available for a chat, as was Mr Aissa the front office manager, we cannot reflect in just a few words just how good the staff are.
Evening entertainment, I have noticed in previous comments the pianist gets non favourable comments, well maybe that's for the purists, but for us to listen to a guy play for 2 hours some popular songs was fine, didn't play from sheet music just from memory. Some of the other entertainment was no more than average but as background music it didn't interfere with conversation around the bar area.
At the start of the week the hotel was no more than 30% occupied, it was between seasons for them but the weather was good all week (Easter)
We went to the new part of Hammamet (jasmine) few times through the week, can walk it on the beach in around 30minutes or take a taxi, we were advised to make sure the meter was on, however once we had been and saw the cost of 4 dinar, we used to jump in give the driver 5 dinar (2.00) and off we went. You do have to put up with the shop owners inviting you to look at their products, firm and polite sees them off!!.
If you want to go to the old part of Hammamet the hotel has a free bus (see Mr Moustache),he takes you in shows you around and you don't get the same sort of hassle from the traders when he is with you.
To conclude, having been taking holidays for some 30 years this hotel takes some beating, would we go again? Without hesitation!, even though it is a little expensive during the school hols, wife's a teacher.

Room Tip: Try and get a view over the pool area, might have to pay a little extra.

Just back from a very relaxing week at this lovely hotel. Had beautiful room on top floor-spectacular views, clean and very spacious. Hammam well worth a visit: my daughter and I enjoyed the seaweed wrap and exfoliation; prices better than UK. As has been said previously, all staff are charming and courteous. The hotel tour with Mehir (affectionately know as "moustache" by his colleagues) to the medina in Hammamet was excellent. Beware, you will buy a carpet you never even knew you needed!! Food was great, good variety and fresh.
Few suggestions:
The 19 y old daughter thought the 10 am cut off for breakfast was a bit early. Maybe a later option?
Water in room-should be complimentary
Charging for a room safe? Sends wrong cheese-paring signal...
These are tiny points-would return to this hotel. Recommended!
