“A 3 Star with a 4 STAR Heart”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

My partner and I visited this hotel for 1 week 16th July to 23rd July. This Hotel is very deceiving. This is actually a reasonably good size property. Being a 3 Star, we weren't expecting very much except the basics as we usually travel to 4* +. This Hotel really tries to go out of its way to make you comfortable and feel at home. The Manger of the Hotel, Giuseppe is one of the first Managers of any hotel we have ever been to, to make himself visible and to make you feel at home. He really is a great believer in Guest Relations and this is refreshing and the rest of the staff here follow suit. They really do want you to come back to visit them. Bar & Restaurant staff are exceptionally good especially if you lightly grease the wheels and then they offer 5 star service for moderate tips. Front desk always helpful with a smile.

The food was fresh and not frozen and pretty straight down the middle. You can usually find something at the buffet that you are happy with. The property was immaculate and pools very clean. The animation staff really go out of their way to make you feel a part of the atmosphere on the property. Some of the best we have seen. They really do go out of their way to make families happy and entertain the children. Always plenty of participation and smiles from everyone.

It is lively when you need it to be, and serenely quiet when it needs to be. The beach...average and across the street, but we stayed by the pool on the grassy areas and were perfectly contented with that. If it doesn't have a Beach like Varadero, Cuba etc. and backed up to the property than we don't bother, although the beach was pleasant. Rooms were clean and tidy but the beds are quit hard. Still rather have the rooms clean than worrying about the beds in a 3 Star. Usually so tired it didn't matter. Fedia from Guest relations @ lastminute.com was excellent and helpful...but so was everyone else. Can't fault this experience. An enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to travel 3 star. Nothing better than expecting a 3 Star experience and getting a 4 star treatment.

Thank you to everyone...we miss you all already. Craig & Hulai

I am just back from a 7 night stay at the hotel club president. We were a couple staying here we arrived late to the hotel and was showed to our room. There was no information about the all inclusive ie wots included meal times etc. The glasses the drinks are served in are tiny and half the time are plastic, the beer was watered down or had no alcohol content to it at all i could drink all day and night and not get drunk. But go in to the club after the all inclusive was shut buy 3 beers and be on my way.
We stayed in the bunglows we had a room with three single beds so pushed them all together to make a larger bed we was offered a double room but preferred where we were. The shower was lovely nice and big walk in style. The room was cleanish but we did have an ant problem.
The food here is very basic and the same basically every day does not touch the European standards of all inclusive. I feel the hotel is not gear up for the English staff are not very welcoming or helpful. That if they can understand you or even speak english.
The amamation team tricked me Salem in to buying a bingo ticket for 5 tnd and informed me the bingo would be called in English this was not the case only say every 1 in 5 was in english. Hamza from the anamation team was brilliant made real effort with us and made us feel welcome and spoke good english.
The beach is across the road but is clean with plenty of sun loungers and there a bar to keep u stocked up on drinks.
The pool areas were nice with plenty of sun loungers.
I would not use this hotel again and if english i would look else were they need more bar staff as well and more information about the all inclusive. After seeing the hotel so highly rated on trip advisor we are very disapointed

First of all I read with lot of attention all your comments about the hotel.
Concerning the negatif points I shared immediately them with the staff.
In a general way we want to improve our relations with our English guests, with more people of the staff speaking English and making attention that every entertainment is made in English as well.
Hoping to welcome you again

We have just returned from our 9th visit to Tunisia, and for the first time, I have very little good to say.
We booked hotel Samira club Hammamet for a two week stay, our first mistake! although the place is clean and the food quite good, the accommodation is in cave like bungalows with bars in the windows, liks a cell, the walls are so thin, that you here the conversations of neighbouring units, and the view is a row in front of you. it is geared to younger people 18-30 group and full of drunken European and Russians. could not get a sleep for the noise of them coming and going and constant club music boom booming all day and night til 2am! great for the younger guests, but over 50s, forget it! witnessed a few brawls, and one at 5pm in reception area between French and Dutch GIRLS! had had enough by then, and asked to be moved. Our rep Samir, from A! travel. was fantastic and got us moved as soon as was possible. However! We moved to the Hotel President and Tunisian village Hammamet, BIG MISTAKE! Little Russia would be a better name, 90% of guests were Russian, 7 British and the rest French and Italian. All Inc drinks? vodka that tasted like paint stripper, boucha, watered down wine or beer that was either flat, or so full of gas that it burned your tongue. Food! queue up in a line for an eternity, to have what stew or chicken or meatballs were being served, doled out to you, like in a prison line, 3 meatballs, or 3 or 4 pieces of meat from the stew! lots of bread and salad though! 6 strawberries per person ect ect. BREAKFAST! scrambled eggs or omelette cut in strips or some kind of rice thing were the only hot options, but plenty of bread and salad lol, DIABOLICAL! we ate out all week. The animation team were great, always taking time to sit with us and chat, but we could not really understand the shows, what was being said, while the Russians were having a jolly laughing time! this hotel is deffinately NOT for the British. Have to add, this was our first and last visit to this end of Tunisia, but it will not put us off going back to Monastir, Skanes, Port el Kantoui and Souse, where we have always had great Holidays.

Room Tip: If you are not happy with your room, immediately ask to change, usually not a problem. and the highe...

We didn't book this hotel as a package. Be warned - this hotel is also called the President. You need to be aware of this as the driver didn't know the Tunisian village and attempted to leave us miles away in Hammanet. Luckily we had a fluent French speaker in the taxi.

The hotel is fine. Breakfast isn't great but it was sufficient for our needs. We can't comment on anything other than the helpfulness of the reception staff as we only used the hotel as a base. We found the staff very friendly but unused and Ill prepared to provide advice for anyone wanting to go off the resort, which we did everyday.

We did use the tennis courts most days which are not clay courts as you might be fooled into thinking from the photos. More akin to your old school tennis court but it did us ok once we got used to staying well back from the ball.

We used public transport, taxis and hired a car for one day from a hire place just to the right of the hotel. We had good service there. A car is necessary if you want to visit some out of the way treasures like El Jem. Don't be scared, just join is my advice.

We wouldn't go back again but that's not because we didn't like the hotel, rather I have vowed to never stay on a soulless resort ever again.
