The hotel is well located in Yasmine's tourist area. It's close to marine, to restaurants and to the shopping center. The sea is a fea meters away but you can swim in to the large and very clean swimming pool. Our room was large, clean but the view was bad. As far as the food is conserd , the byffet was TASTEFULL. Last but not least what can we say about THE VERY KIND and ALWAYS SMILLING STAFF.
I WOULD RECOMMEND IT !!!!

Location:
The hotel is well located in Yasmine’s touristic area, amongst many other hotels. It is relatively close to the medina (a 10 minutes walk) and right next to the marina and the beach (just across the road).

General aspects:
The hotel has a good indoor and outdoor image. It is clean and big. It has free Wi-Fi. The check-in did not take too long and ran smoothly.

Room:
The room was quite large, as was the bathroom, with a modern décor. It had, also, a nice balcony with a view to the pool and the marina. It was equipped with air conditioning, TV and a mini fridge (which was replenished every day). In a daily basis, the room was cleaned and the bed sheets and the bathroom towels were changed. However, the balcony was never cleaned during our stay.

Restaurants and food:
The restaurant “Le Phenicien”, where the three main meals were served, was spacious and generally clean. The service was always buffet.
The food varied very poorly and the available dishes were not the best by far, both in appearance and taste. Sometimes, cups, plates and cutlery were dirty.
The meat dishes include chicken, lamb and veal, almost always stewed.
The fish dishes were scarce (some of the times cold baked fish covered with mayonnaise!) and unappealing. We were expecting grilled fish, but we were never served.
We had, as well, the option to choose italian pastas, but, once again, the dishes were not looking good and were scarce in variety. The food was too greasy and the skillet seemed not to be clean.
There were, also, salads and cold dishes, but still very unattractive.
The fruits were always melon, apples, pears, grapes, and dates.
The desserts were not bad at all, most of them almond-based.
The other guests commented: “It is more of the same”; “Everything tastes the same”.

The service was not spectacular, but nice. A couple of times, it seamed the waiters’ priorities were not to serve the drinks to guests, but clean empty tables or other tasks instead.
Some other guests complained they were poorly attended and even mocked by some waiters.

There was, also, the possibility of eating pizzas and other snacks at the pool bar or the beach bar. The pizzas were poor in filling.

Swimming-pool:
It has a good pool, but the sunbeds zone was quite limited. The pool water was very clean.

Night at the hotel:
The nights at the hotel lacked in activities, but it was easy to find some other things to do outside. The “Latino” bar and the lounge bar were nice, though.

Beach:
The private hotel zone at the beach is well organized, with enough shades and sunbeds. The bar was, also, good looking.
Nevertheless, the seawater (in which we were supposed to bathe!) smelled like sewer. It is not acceptable that we were not warned in advance, since this obviously is not a new incident. After all, we paid for beach holidays!
Later, we were informed by other guests that beyond the marina we could find another beach supposedly with no sewer odor. We had no access to shades or sunbeds, though, as we were entering other hotels’ zones.

this hotel is defenently the worst five-star hotel i've ever seen. it has a very bad service and the food is bad. there is no high-speed internet connection in the room and the lobby (there is wifi in the whole hotel but it's extremly slow). the room is small but it has a good view on the sea. besides, the restaurant is small and has a limited number of tables (we had to wait half an hour until that someone finishes eating). otherwise, the service weren't so bad and the rooms and the lobby are well decorated and look good. finally as a five-star hotel it's a bad one but as a hotel it's good.

The hotel is well located in the new Hammamet but unfortunately it has some problems. I stayed in a room with an awful sight and, in two of the seven nights that I stayed there, I heard a loud noise, like a hammer being used in another floor!
I was in the “all inclusive” regime and the bar employees often took too much time to serve costumers - we had to call them a lot before they come to our table. It seems that they were deliberately trying to ignore us! Exceptions to the restaurant and cleaning staff, which were very nice and helpful. The food of the restaurant was very good!
The pool was very nice but the beach that belongs to the hotel was very polluted! The smell of the sea water was really bad!

The Laico Hammamet Hotel is a total "travestti" of a 5 starts hotel class.
I am not been difficult, or snob or to tough with what I am writting. I am trying to be fare, based on my experiences with other 5 stars hotel I have been.
I was told that I am going to a 5 stars hotel. There for, I want to be treated by what a five star supose to treat their clients. I got plenty of witnesses from the tour group. All or most of all, felt the same way.
Laico Hammamet supose to be a 5 Stars Hotel, as I was told by the Agency and it is on the entry wall of the hotel and they letter head and advertised, etc....
1- Room Service: I had to carry my lugage to the room or take them out of the car.The room was clean and good size. I had to chase the employers a few times to get towels, soaps. The brocure claims the rooms have bidet and hidro-massage tubs. Where? The lock did not work, Had no radio or bathrobe (normal on 5 stars hotels). The TV programs where poor choice or quality. the room bar was little and only a few soft drinks.
2- Bar Service: The employees do not speak English and they barely speak French (the nation 2nd language). To be serve and get the drinks it takes an eternety and the quantity on the glass are poor. Beer is considered (as written in the bar menu) an apperitiff.
3-Restaurant Service: The meals were on "buffet style". No five star hotel I know does it that way. Anyway. The drinks that you order, only arrives at half the meal. The food, little or no variety for the 7 nights I was there. The food is of poor quality and presentation. I found rotten fruit on the dishes. The waiters serves your drinks sometimes, holding them by the top and in same cases the wine is pour in the glasses without letting the guess taste it. The waiters when set the tables, they hold the forks by the teeth. The waiters are not trained properly inthe way to talk to a 5 stars guest.
The Beach bar was extremely bad conserved, with totaly no class, You are served in plastic drink containers etc....etc.....
4- Pool site and ammenities: At the pool site there is not enough chairs or matresses for the guests and some chairs are broken. There is no jacuzzi. The pool bar is poorIy served, very poorly looked and I did not see waiters serving drinks at the pool.
The night entrtainment the was advertised was amateur. The "discotech"was extrmely poor . It look more like a tavern. In all this tragedy, I must say that the pool man (Omar) is the only good thing worth it there. It is polite, funny and keeps a good eye on what is going on and the children.
It is ashame because the country is nice. It has a beautiful and proud history, the people seemed nice, I had no security problems even walking late at night. I had good time and fun outside the hotel.

wwe realy enoyed our stay at the hotel. the reception desk located in a impossing lobby, a receptionist with a big smile,..;
Very kind service , especially towards children ( which is not always easy to find in a big 5* hotel )
Food is very nice. We got treated with some freshly grilled prawns, lamb chops,... Thumbs up for the chef and his team.
One minor thing; the beach only opens during the summer months
( I would recommened to ask for a room with poolside view like we did )
