Rather poor hotel. When we came we wait around 4 hours to get the room. The one we get was ugly with moisture on the walls in some place dirty. We change it after huge row in reception. I have to add that hotel try to apologize with fruit plate. On the third day 90 tunisian dinars disappeared from my wallet hidden deep in suitcase. If You plan to go there or any other tunisian hotel better buy safe. Animations was kind good but however I wont go there second time. (I was there in september 2004)

Moved to write this review as I have just been to this hotel on holiday. I was concerned about all the bad reviews I had read, but this hotel is not, as some suggest, the hotel from hell!. The staff were friendly and helpful, although many of them did not speak much English. The food was, in my opihion, great in the evening, lots of dishes to choose from, and myself (vegetarian) and my children (fussy eaters) were always able to find a selection. The breakfasts were less exciting, although they did cook omlettes, doughnuts and pancakes freshly for you.
Our rooms were lovely and cleaned every day. (I recommend the garden rooms if you don't want to hear the entertainers music all day long)
The hotel itself is in Yasmine Hammamet, about a £4:00 taxi ride from the centre of Hammamet.
When we stayed at the Hotel, we were the only English staying, which could have been quite isolating if we had spent all our time in the Hotel. Hammamet itself has not got a huge amount to do unless you are a beach lover. - For a wider selection of things to do, I would recommend Sousse, but we did have a nice holiday there.
The Hotel itself was a three star, so a little rough round the edges, but in my opinion, worth the money, with a large area around the pool. Entertainment was put on every night, fakir, belly dancers, snake man... a pleasant place to be in the evenings. Another recommendation, - buy your booze from the Bazar shop at the Marina, you have to ask for alcohol, and they direct you to a "hidden" room round the back - Hotel prices are expensive, but this place was cheap. The hotel barman was willing to open bottles of wine if, like me, you forgot your corkscrew1
Go, have fun, dont expect 5* and enjoy lovely Tunisia!

We travelled to Hammamet in Febuary-bad Idea,it was freezing cold, similar weather to home (London), anyway thats obviousley not the hotels fault!!
As soon as we landed, there was a mix up our transfer had a different hotel listed to where we were actually going. We got to the hotel, a party of 6,including my 7month baby. The reception area was colder than outside...okay we thought, we are hungry and tired it will warm up soon.
Well we ended up going down to our dinner in coats scarves and gloves|!! my baby starting sneezing... staff couldnt speak English, food was cold.no menu ..first night-disaster, and didnt get better.

No fridge in room,no kettle, had to pester hotel staff for fridge or minibar as they called it! got a manky old fridge two days later and had tp y for it too.

No entertainment,no heating,no decent food, had to move to a diiferent hotel in the end,not a happy experiance!! :(

We have just spent 5 of our 7 days in Hammamet the 3* Mechmoum hotel as our Holiday Provider could not place us in the 4 star Majesty Golf we were booked in as it was closed.. This Februaryhalf term 2012.

I have to say this has been one of my worst experiences of all the places thay I have stayed and I am not opposed to an economical holiday!

The hotel itself corridors/restaurant lobby were freezing cold we had a baby with us on this trip the hotel rooms themselves were nice and warm though making the draft once you left even more unbearable.

The rooms in general were clean and cleaned everyday, I would say the bed linen and the bath towels were in need of replacement. The bathroom could do with a deep clean and replacing of shower curtains. If the hotel had not been freezing cold it coud possibly have dragged itselg to a 3 star as we had a balcony room overlooking the pool.

There was no safe, no hairdryer , no minibar , no iron everything had to be requsted and with additional daily charges. This alone was an issue but the attitude and disregard and in some cases aggression of staff was disturbing to say the least.

There was no in house entertainment at all other then the Saturday night disco, at which stage there were then a lot of large no of strange characters roaming the hotel and shouting anf fighting their way into the night.

On one occassion cold food was served and we were told to reheat this in the Microwave ourselves, on complaining we were given free meals the following night whih had a marked dfference. But the staff member that we complained about scowled and was aggresive towards our whole group for the rest of the trip.

2 days prior to our return this staff member decided that we no longer could have the minibar that we were paying a daily fee for as t was needed for thr babies milk had to be given to anothet customer! This is when we left at stayed at another hotel.re very reas

The manager seemed a nice man but a little to mld mannered to take control of these staff or put the heaing on as he appeared afraid?

Spa treatments at the hotel were very reasonable prices but in a cold enviroment but still worth the money!

I've read alot of bad reviews for this hotel and believe them ALL to be WRONG! This was a great hotel and all the staff were friendly and had a laugh with you. We went half board and the food was really nice, The pool was open all night and they even brought us wine to drink in the pool at night. The holiday makers were from all over the world and we made a few friends from Germany and England. The bed was decorated differently everyday and everything was clean. We even played water polo with the staff and their was a photographer that took and sold pictures thoughout your stay there, He didnt hassel you to buy them either. The staff were exceptionally good when we realised we didnt have a travel adaptor, They made one for us!! The Bar man made jokes with us and gave us free cigarettes. I highly recommend 'The view' bar along the parade, They are really friendly and speak good english, We even did some drunken karaoke and a shisha pipe!

Go and have some fun!!!
