The beach spanning from the Aziza hotel towards the Mediterranean hotel was clean but the other direction was quite littered

“Hit and miss!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

It's a funny subject the beach in Hammamet! Because you can find quite dirty beaches and walk 300 yards and be on a beach comparable with the best in the world! The sea is clean and clear and reasonably warm!
But I must mention the sea weed! It is very peculiar to this part of the world and for a week or so, I thought it was camel dung as there are quite a few camel's on the beach and quite a lot of sea weed!
But it is sea weed and during the height of the season they do tend to clean the beaches of it. But off season there is quite a lot of it on the beach, but when you know just what it is! It somehow feel's better when you see it!
But for your reference it is small roundish balls about 2 to 3 inches across and a bit hairy and brownish in colour! If you've seen horse dung you'll understand my mistake!
Don't let it put you off! If you want a stroll on the beach and then back to your hotel for a dip in the pool your fine. But id you want a nice beach? You might have to walk 300 yards to get it!

“Very nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

We went to the beach every day as it was very clean, sometimes lots of seaweed but that is expected, there was always a nice wee breeze which certainly helped with the burning process, there was always plenty of beds to choose from, the mat guy was great, as soon as you turned up he was right over cleaning the beds and table before placing your mat on your bed (small things make the difference) there were very little stones as you entered the water, which helps, overall very good.

Beautiful sands and blue sea, although water was too cold for swimming. The hotel was very near to the beach, it was lovely to hear the surf at night.
