“Lovely place to stay!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Club Magic Life Africana Imperial offers something for everyone. There are 3 pool areas, one serenity pool, an activity pool and the pool with water shutes and flumes. We never had a
problem getting a sun lounger and the pool attendants would move them wherever you wanted them including on tge beach. The food is generally good but we found the breakfast choices poor; I had the same thing everyday for a week! The rooms were just lovely and the bar staff really helpful and amiable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definately go back!

Just returned from a week at the Magic Life. Our family of four had a great time and I would recommend this hotel. The only thing lacking was better entertainment in the evening. I think this will improve in high season when the outside stage at the captains bar is used. There are no clubs for teenagers but there was plenty for them to do in the day.
Lots of pools to relax or play in, including a pool with big water slides. There is the beach too with free water sports, unfortunately the sea was quite rough so did not get to try everything out. The waves were great fun.
I don't understand some of the comments about the food. The food was the best I have eaten in an all inclusive. The main buffet restaurant was superb but it did cater for Brits, Germans, Russians and Tunisians so you did need to be adventurous at times. If you only eat roast beef and Yorkshire puddings then Yorkshire is your best bet not Tunisia. The range of deserts and cake was out of this world.
All the hotel staff were exceptionally hard working and polite. I tipped on the last day only, so the high standard I received was before tips!
The fire alarm battery in my room went flat and started that annoying bleep so I removed the battery and left a note ( in really bad french) for the cleaner. Before lunch I returned to the room and a new battery was installed - great service.
The outside snack bar was visited by hungry sparrows but I guess they were there first.
The summary is that unlike some resorts it really is all inclusive. Everything we ate and drunk all week was free. The only money we spent all week was about £15 in tips on the last day.
Would I holiday here again? Yes
Would I go to another Magic Life? Yes, I have heard some are even better!

Just returned from this hotel and absolutely loved the hotel itself. It is exceptionally clean and well looked after with detail to every little area. The food was amazing and catered for all our group from age 75 to age 2. Staff are the most friendly and helpful I have ever experienced. I honestly found the hotel faultless. Unfortunately the kids club mainly catered for the german guests (speaking to kids mainly in german, german speaking movies and german songs at mini disco) which had quite an impact on our holiday as I have 3 young children who didn't like it and this was a main reason we booked this holiday. It's not always fun when the kids are bored!!

Stayed here with my wife from 7/5/14 to 21/5/14.
Arrival
First impressions were great, greeted off the coach by hotel staff and taken into cocktail bar for welcome cocktail whilst our cases were transferred to our room by one of the many hotel porters. Registration was quick and easy whilst given a quick introduction to the hotel by guest service manager Nardia. We were then given a personal escort to our room.
Room
Room 1012 a double superior suite, was huge, enormous bed, full bathroom with shower (including hairdryer, shower gel shower caps, sewing kit, shoe shine etc) 32” LCD TV, kettle, balcony overlooking pool, plus side sea view. Room was spotlessly clean with towel art on beds and in bathroom. The room was cleaned each day with fresh towels and linen changed each day.
We were contacted by guest service manager Nardia after 8 days and informed that due to a problem with some unforeseen maintenance work that they would like us to move rooms as we may be disturbed by this work. We moved to room 912, also a double superior suite but this room looked straight out onto the beach which was about 50m away. Waking up each morning to the sun rising and the waves lapping on the sand right below the balcony was heaven. Also to compensate us for our trouble in moving the General Manager Mr Chafik, came to see us personally and after explaining the reason for the move also paid for myself and my wife to have a full massage in the hotels massage suite. Wine and fresh fruit were then delivered to our room!!
Restaurants
Magico Buffet ; Huge choice of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner, chefs on station cooking most things in front of you and always with a smile. The food was always hot and fresh and the choice was unbelievable. There were various themed nights, eg, Indian, French, Italian, Tunisian, Tex-Mex, Chinese, all were superb , however if you did not like the theme there was always plenty of other food available also. They also cater for anyone with a food allergy and will gladly cook you something of your choice.
At all meal times we always found a table which were cleaned and reset immediately by the numerous waiters who work nonstop and always with a friendly smile. By the second day , as we arrived for our meal they would have our drinks ready as soon as they seen us arrive and always asked how we were.
The Head Chef was always there and walked around the tables talking to guests and asking if they had any concerns.
Also available and always talking to guests was Executive Chef Houssam Mostafa, a true gentleman who is in charge of all the restaurants and food outlets in the hotel, his experience and knowledge of food is second to none and this shows in the quality of dishes his staff serve up every day.
A La Carte Al Baccio; Great atmosphere and setting with resident pianist playing throughout. Service again was excellent with the food superb, the best medallions of beef we have ever had.
Snacks around the world & Sandwich Corner (Beach Bar)
Great choice again, always fresh ,hot and cooked in front of you by great staff, waiters again were quick friendly and happy at all times.
Entertainment Team
Worked tirelessly from morning til night , they always made time to stop and chat no matter what they were doing.
Staff
The management of this hotel lead from the front, they are always visible and walk around the hotel and grounds day and night talking to guests and staff. They are approachable at all times and actively encourage you to come and see them if you have any kind of problem no matter how small.
We have nothing but praise for all the staff , they are the friendliest we have ever come across and willing to help with anything, a credit to the hotel. Special thanks to Ezzidine in the Captains bar, he made our stay so special.
Would we recommend this hotel, YES. Would we go back, YES.

Room Tip: Room numbers 701 and above are all suites, large and roomy.

Just returned from a enjoyable 7 night stay at the Club Magic Life Africana Imperial.

From start to finish it was a wonderful holiday, staff were all helpful, polite and friendly. Nothing ever seemed too much

Watersports- Great selection of free activities to do (waterskiing, kayak, banana boat and wake boarding) . I mastered water skiing on day 2 so have returned with a new skill :-)

Drinks- Basic selection of beverages but to be expected with all inclusive. The Wonderbar is open 24 hours so many late night parties were had :-)

Accommodation- Comfy beds and high quality linen. The housekeepers do a excellent job with a daily clean and towels changed daily!!

Food- Probably the low-light of the holiday, but let's be honest it's the same in all inclusive resorts. Though the selection is random the breads and deserts are great. If all else fails there is always a freshly grilled meat and the mash is good. Go to the snack bar for chips!! I would not recommend the Tunisian or Thai restaurants, I heard the Italian was superb.

Activities- 4 pools in total the indoor pool is lovely and warm with a sauna and steam room, the main pool is lovely, the pool with watersides was a great addition.

Entertainment- I cannot commend the whole of the entertainment team more, they made the day times fun around the pool with various activities (thanks Lucy, Flo and Nizar), for a more relaxed day you can play bowls, yoga, Pilates and Zumba. The entertainment followed to the evening with a great selection of shows or quizzes. The highlight for me was the spectacular acrobatics and dance in the 'Aladdin' show, such a high class performance by the in house team.

I would recommend this resort for families or couples, though the weather was not amazing for us, it exceeded our expectations with the entertainment, cleanliness and hospitality.

Angelo

stayed here for 10 days 11th to 21st May a family of nine all adults. Plenty of food choice even for the fussiest of eaters. Ranging from salads, meat, cheeses, pasta, pizzas, theme nights, plain foods, sauces, soups, breads, puddings galore, fruits. some areas a little dated but everywhere immaculately clean. plenty of activities. The entertainment team are amazing and happy to accommodate and welcome all abilities. I walked with Lucy most days she catered for everyone's health needs and made sure everyone was safe and felt confident using the Nordic Poles. The bar staff, waiters, life guards, reception staff all contributed to a great holiday. I do feel the gardeners deserve a special mention as the grounds are kept beautiful the plants attract many species of birds and butterflies. Well done everyone.

The Hotel: Lovely setting, we popped into a few others on trips and just made us feel so happy with our choice, nicest by far. A few issues with lights and key cards but reception got them sorted quickly. The maid for our room (102) was fantastic, flowers and towels made into shapes everyday, a credit to the team. Fantastic pools, slides and much needed relaxation. The watersports was good as well, nice to have 2 wake board sessions everyday included, and the banana boat. A-La-Carte restaurant hard to book up, the guest services girl Nadia kept giving us incorrect info, but food was good when we finally did get in. The main restaurants food was good and varied, desserts are amazing, definitely added to my waste line on this holiday.
The Entertainment: All the team were good, always happy and there to make sure you did not get bored. The evening entertainment was good, nothing the same during our stay, and Gyselle acrobat experience was excellent, there were some great comical acts and some good dance routines from the team. Cheers to the team for the 2 weeks.
Excursions: We did 4 excursions that Thomson offered, Legends of Tunisia, waste of time, spent near on 5 hrs in the coach during the day, cant see how this trip is classed as there best. We went on the 4x4 adventure, bit more expensive than the legends trip but our best trip by far. Market trip to Nabuel could of been done possibly with a couple mates, good market to buy lots though, suggest going to fixed price stores to get an idea of prices before the market, this really helped us get awesome deals. The zoo and zulu evening was a good laugh as well.
Had a fantastic time in the 2 weeks and thoroughly recommend this hotel and team.
P.S. There are some lights out in reception, but in my view if you have time to stare at the ceiling you must be bored, and yes there are lots of Germans and Austrians as this is a German company, all were very friendly and enjoyable to be round.
