I just came home yesterday from what was a lovely holiday, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because Thomas Cook miss sells this hotel as all inclusive when it isn't as you have to pay for bits like sun loungers on the beach and food isn't available all day, anyway back to the positives, even though we didn't arrive to the hotel until 11pm the animation team were there to greet us and the restaurant had prepared food for us all to eat, the pool area was lovely and the animation team worked hard all day every day to make sure you was having a good time, they really are what makes this hotel great, the food was good but repetitive after a week, the rooms are fantastic, cleaned everyday and the maids really make an effort with making swans out of the towels and such, the beach is not up to much if I'm honest and the walk to it is very smelly so be aware, the guy in the front out of the shop is very helpful and speak very good English which is handy, it was very nice also to be hugged and waved goodbye by the animation team as we left also, all in all it was a lovely week away and I will miss this place and it's animation team very much!

This hotel is not all inclusive. The free bar has little choice and the beer is non alcoholic. Paying for drinks a decent choice including becks and Stella. Food may be tasty but wasn't hot so spoilt it for me and I resorted to making cheese sandwiches (I am not a fussy eater). Animation team were fantastic. Very infusiastic and had me up dancing in half an hour of being there. The staff are very friendly and there to help speaking good English and tried to help me speak a little arabic.would return if issues were ironed out and food/all inclusive was improved.

I went and stayed at Le Petit Palais this summer, after a stressful year full of exams, this holiday was the perfect getaway and exactly what I needed!!! Le Petit Palais is perfect for couples, friends and families. With plenty to do from quad biking, paragliding, jet skiing, horse and camel riding. The entertainment team in the hotel were amazing! Great at entertaining the children, and equally as great with older guests. Without the entertainment team the holiday would not have been such a memorable one, just have to say a HUGE thank you to everyone in the animation team, Nouri, Miro, Badis, Sonia, Abdel and Tito. They were warm, welcoming and always took time out to make you smile. Always around from early in the morning to late at night, they put on great evening shows, starting with a song and dance with the children, to fun and hilarious performances by the pool.
During the day the pool is a great place to relax, with current and fun songs playing where you can just lay on the sunbeds and just soak up the sun and an occasional dance to a song opa opa, that the cant leave the holiday without knowing the full routine, that the entertainment team encourage you to join in with in the pool. The entertainment team are amazing as they can speak various different languages such as French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, English, and German.
The restaurant was always clean and a great place to eat, the catering staff were amazing, friendly and always around to top up your cups, and remove plates once you'd finished. It is a calm place to eat slowly and take your time. You can always go up for seconds, and their deserts are delicious. There was also a great indoor and outdoor bar so you never go thirsty.
The standard of cleanliness in the rooms were always so, the maids were really good and always took the time out to make beautiful designs on the beds with towels and flowers.
What is also another reason to visit Djerba is that everything is very cheap, and prices are always negotiated there, so you end up saving more money on your holiday which makes there holiday even more enjoyable.
Again I cant say a big enough thank you to all the animation team Nouri, Miro, Badis, Abdel, Sonia and Tito for making my holiday an amazingly enjoyable and unforgettable one!!!!!!

I went to this hotel with Thomas Cook, due to seeing all the awesome reviews on Trip Advisor and by the travel agent, so thought why not!

Arrived at Le Petit Palais on the 8th August 2014 at 10.30pm and was welcomed by Sonia and was directed to the restaurant for a drink and something to eat, then checked in and was helped by a member of staff with luggage etc and was shown the air con and locking doors etc.

First couple of days were great - sitting by the pool, animation team and staff being friendly etc, but got to Monday and noticed MAJOR faults with the hotel.

1. Le Petit Palais is NOT an all inclusive hotel. Not much variety of foods and drinks on offer. Same food and drink nearly everyday, especially rind, and turkey.

2. NOT a family orientated hotel - not much entertainment for the children, except for 30 minutes max in the evening for a mini disco. Even though I went with my partner and no children, just seemed weird that the children at the hotel had nothing to do besides playing on their electric devices

3. Even though the waiters were very pleasant, they did seem to rush me and my partner to eat our food. They were constantly hovering around our tables waiting for us to finish before clearing plates etc. We were in and out the restaurant for all meals in 30 minutes. Also found hair in my food on numerous occasions - did complain and they didn't understand.

4. Animation team / reception staff - very rude staff, especially Sonia who made me very upset and the guy behind reception - who knows how to speak basic english. they do not communicate very well, and if they wish to attract English tourists, they need to least no intermidiate/advance english. Esp Tito who knew I was english who then started talking to me in German and French numerous of times.

5. Thomas Cook Representative (English name of Ben) - On the board at reception, states he should be at the hotel twice daily, first at 9am then again about 5pm for 1 hour each time. Me and a few other guests had questions to ask him, so we went to find him at 9am at reception where he said he would be - 11am still waiting for him. I know this is a Thomas Cook issue, but if you do travel with them, just beware of lack of time keeping
6. Sunbeds - had to put towels on subeds either late at night or extremely early the next morning to be guaranteed a subbed. Numerous guests had arguments with other guests regards taking sun beds so you will have to work on a first come first serve basis - don't beat them join them basis. Numerous guests had towels chucked in pools and life guards and staff didn't batter an eyelid

If you do go to Djerba/Tunisa and visit Le Petit Palais, and get advised via the travel agency and representative not to go out and explore the island without booking through them, don't as it works out more expensive through them. Taxi's work out much cheaper.

With regards to the hotel facilities, very decent sized rooms, modern furniture and polite bar staff. Air conditioning in rooms are spot on. Cleaning lady/maid service was amazing, decorative beds every time we came back to the room. Beach is 5 minutes walk. supermarket close by but had to haggle for prices for a majority of things. But there is a supermarket 5 minutes walk (just turn right out the hotel) who has really good items and good prices. Beds are very comfortable and clean. towels, and new toilet roll every day (not that we needed the toilet roll everyday but can't moan though) Slept perfectly. Pool area is very clean and so are tables outside and so is restaurant.

Apart front the above issues, was a good holiday, Unfortunately due to the issues that I experienced, I won't be visiting Le Petit Palais next year, but definitely has not put me off from visiting Djerba! the holiday was ok, if it weren't for a lovely lady got Epty, who showed us around the lovely island of Tunisa/Djerba (who then got moaned at by Sonia for helping us translate as we couldn't understand french/arabic/german/italian language due to our Thomas Cook Rep not being there) was a good holiday. Met some lovely people.

Me and my boyfriend when to this hotel in June 2014 after not reading any English reviews was not sure what to expect . On arravel we received a drink and had a half hour wait for our room, reception staff was really friendly. once in our room was lovely any clean. Always cleaned every day with towel art on bed.

The pool was so clean one of the nicest pools we seen whilst been on holiday, the all inclusive bar was OK but was not much I drank part from water , white wine I made the most of this, the beer was not to bad in Shandy to.
The buffet bar was great never went hungry and had a tunisin night once a week which was good .

The entertainment team was every friendly , they was up round the pool first thing in the morning and did not stop till late at night, such had working made the holiday.

We would definitely return to this hotel in the future
