We have just returned from a week all inclusive with our 3 children and had a fantastic time. The hotel grounds and pools are beautiful and being directly on the beach was a huge bonus. We got sunloungers without a problem at the beach and round the pool and the staff are very efficient and bring the cushions for the loungers as soon as they see you.We never actually left the complex as it wasnt necessary but maybe had we not had the children we may have needed to.Rooms are basic but clean and we were hardly in them so it didnt matter to us.The all inclusive drinks were the best ive had with nice beer on tap and cocktail tables in various different locations around the resort and the children enjoyed the different juices available. Unless you are a really fussy eater there was plenty of choice at all meal times our favourite being the freshly made pancakes with chocolate sauce for breakfast! And twice during our week stay there was a bbq outside at dinner. the pizzas were great too and the choice of puddings was fantastic!our waiters fredj and younes deserve a mention as they were fantasic and looked after our table well for the whole week. entertainment in the evening was ok but the kids loved it and the staff had obviously gone to alot of effort.overall a great resort for families as there is so much for the kids to do.We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: we were lucky enough to be on the third floor overlooking the water park with a sea view.Nice in the...

Those that are debating whether or not to book this hotel, please take into consideration that the hotel complex is absolutely huge. Therefore, the staff must cater for hundreds of people. Based on this, the "all-inclusive" food is actually decent. Me and my girlfriend went for just the week and that was enough for me. However, my friends went for two weeks (with a family and child) and absolutely loved it. Despite the large pools, we stuck to the beach, which is attached to the hotel and that was excellent. The weather was lovely (we went early September) and was around 30 degrees. Although some may find it quite boring at night (once the entertainment has finished), there are places to visit and see. I defiantly recommend the zoo day trip and the Mexican restaurant just located out side the hotel complex. Please DO NOT make the same mistake as I did and "over-tipped" the workers. Just TIP them a dinar (which is very cheap) and that will be enough for their service. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Of course you are going to get those who just love to moan and complain. Its what you make of it, hope this helps.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Choose a room looking directly at the pools!!! Excellent view.

Went here for 2 weeks last week of June first week of July with my wife and 5 year old son and firstly this is a great hotel for families as the hotel and grounds are kept very clean the pools are great and the entertainment team are good also the Thomas cook kids club are first class and plenty going on to keep the kids occupied, the on site water park is great the kids love it but you will get bitten there by Mosquitos , however there are a few downsides some of the staff are pleasant enough but some are damn right miserable especially the guys behind the bar at the telegraphe and everyone and I mean everyone expects to get tipped whatever they do for you and there was me thinking a tip was for good service and this gets on your nerves after a while, you do have to get up at 7a.m for a good sun lounger poolside for the kids with a umbrella however if that doesn't bother you there are plenty about and a guy will bring a Mattress but be warned he expects a tip and if you have no money on you he will come back later for it. the rooms are small with 1 plug above a mirror and the rooms need updating and a t.v I know you don't spend much time in the room But it's handy when you back to the room before tea or if you come back early if the kids are tired. The food leaves a lot to be desired plain and repetitive not a great selection on the kids only 4 trays 2 of which are pasta and 1 chips so they alternate to chicken nuggets chicken balls or fish fingers u can get a pizza cooked though, the alcohol selection is poor they have no schnapps or coconut liquor its wine beer vodka amaretto or whiskey and they are served in minute cups and of you ask for more than 2 they get really funny unless you tip them have what you like. Overall would visit with the kids again due to weather and lots to do but feels needs upgrading and a look at some staff attitudes

Just returned from a week here with my partner and we loved every second of it! Honestly any bad reviews are from people expecting too much from a budget 3 star hotel!
We paid just over £400 each for a weeks all inclusive and it was SUCH good value for money. Biggest hotel in Africa with over 2000 rooms so we were amazed at the price we got with Thomas Cook.

ROOMS - weren't amazing but perfectly fine and clean. You only sleep and get dressed etc there so didn't need anything fancy. Beds very comfy and cleaners did a great job. Also TAKE AN EXTENSION LEAD!! Only one socket per room high up on the wall! I took a lead and adaptor after seeing reviews on here and was fine.
POOLS/SUNBEDS - loads of sunbeds you'll always get one, the best ones by the pool go from 7am ish so get up early to reserve a good spot. Both pools were huge and lots to do around them thanks to Animation who were very funny.
TIPS - tip well and you'll be treated like royalty. They work very hard and probably get paid peanuts. Especially during Ramadan it's nice to let them know their work is appreciated.
FOOD - not loads of choice however very tasty and definitely something for everyone just not much to choose from. I ate pasta most of the week as I'm quite a fussy eater but this was fine with me as it was delicious and had delicious salad too! :)
SPA - as a beauty therapist myself I have high expectations and wasn't overly impressed however for the price and smiley service it was great.
BARS/SHOPS - fair few bars on site most all inclusive some cash. There are a few stalls and shops in the hotel so you can get souvenirs etc. one man offers henna tattoo although I'd like to point out that it's not real henna and has a high risk of reaction on the skin. Regardless of what he says, I wouldn't let your child get it or anyone really. Google black henna and you'll see why.

Only things holding it back from 4 stars were maybe giving the rooms a refurb and more food choice. But honestly it's such a good value for money hotel you can't expect too much. However we were very pleasantly surprised and would definitely go back.
Thank you Sahara Beach for an incredible week - 10 days next time! Xxx

Myself and my partner went to sahara beach in May this year for a week. We had an absolutely fantastic time, the staff were incredible could not do enough for you. The food was lovely and I was impressed how they catered for vegetarians. We were also very impressed with what was included with the 'all inclusive' wrist bands as we were given one free three course meal in the separate restaurant as well as other facilities such as the water park. There was not a period of the day where we found beverages or food unavailable when needed. The beach and pool areas were absolutely lovely, there were loads of sun loungers available all day, everyday. We found the trips out were reasonably priced and we attended medina ramble which was fantastic, the rep really looked after us and we got some good bargains. However we would suggest you did not go without a rep as some of the traders were very intense. There are lots of activities on the beach, you will not be bored, we went on a jet ski which was good fun and cost around £20. Overall this was a fantastic holiday and not too expensive, brilliant value! :)

Just back from sahara beach 09.07.14

First of all the hotel is extremely large, the biggest hotel that i have stayed in. personally i think it is too big. comments made about people smoking inside the building being very strong, i smoke and found it unbearable, think it should be outside only!!! there are many children inside.
This hotel is perfect for families as there is a lot for children to do, but not for couples, not my kind of hotel. not every thing is all inclusive

FOOD: terrible
STAFF: brilliant especially the waiter kalif, pool man does not expect money for mattresses but is great full for a tip.

Beach towels you need to take, hair dryer, no fridge in room, room very small and very basic

Stayed at Sahara Beach Resort for one week 21st to 28th June 2014. First time I had been to Tunisia and wanted a chill holiday. Loved the hotel. Could not complain about anything. Food was great plenty of choice. Allocated your own table for meals throughout the stay. Waiters could not be more helpful. Would suggest you take extension cable with you as only one plug in hotel room. Also take beach towel for the pool as there were none supplied. Had to put beach towel on sun beds in the morning if you wanted to have bed next to umbrellas. We still managed to get sun bed with umbrella after 8 am. Pool opens at 7 am so everyone starts putting towels on sun beds from then. Weather was very hot. Went to 47 degrees one day. I had sun factor 50 on and still got burnt and blistered even after taking great care. Weather is deceiving. All in all would recommend hotel and would certainly go again.
