I was going to write a below average review but on reflection I changed my mind.
The Hotel was V Good for the price paid, the staff were nearly all very friendly, the Hotel was reasonably clean, and the food was mainly passable.
What we did not like was the reserving of sun beds early in the morning even though the Hotel did not allow it. The majority of this was done by paying the staff to reserve your beds. This was worse on the beach as to pay was to get a good sun bed. This practice travels to the restaurants money gets you reserved tables for your stay.
The hotel is very noisy from morning till late, they gave us a quiet room that it was not.
The food was not bad you could nearly always find something to eat, don't expect bacon this is one hotel that don't serve it.
To the downside, but I must praise the concierge for saving us before I begin what a lovely caring and helpful young lady who would not allow me to give her a gift.
The DOWNSIDE THOMAS COOK most unhelpful uncaring people.
The rep who has now gone, my wife asked how good is the Spa, Im not allowed to comment, but I got elsewhere taxi will be outside Tuesday 1:30(Im sure it was could have been Monday)
Taken to another hotel experience was horrendous dirty worn out shambles dearer than Hotel.
We tried hotel and it was fantastic don't be taken elsewhere. Our wedding anniversary the rep said you will get something special in your room we did not although given a card on arrival. To my rescue the Concierge who had already reserved us a special table in one of the extra restaurants, it made our day worth it. I went and asked reception about our gifts then new nothing I went to speak to concierge, she said if was Thomas Cook fault, she went out of here was to help us and finnish our day late in the evening she went out of her way to gat wine and a basket of fruit to our room even making sure she found out what we were drinking in the restaurant above and beyond. When questioned via the new rep he said our previous rep had sorted it out for us, HOW IT WAS HER DAY OFF, and she did not know until after the event, and her approach was shouting at concierge and taking her to the Manager/Director.I think she thought she was P**** important.
The straw that broke the camels back was excuse the pun, after going on the Sarah Explorer trip and getting injured and hurt, at first its sorry then your forgotten, the new rep did not was to help, even saying we would bring thee police in made no odds. I insisted as we were going home next day to see the Head of all there a guy finally came listened and had a check to say heres 110 dina ( £40 ) were sorry, but added, it was only from him not compensation, it was not good as we were leaving so reluctantly they said they would leave sterling at reception , it never found its way there.
So in conclusion Great Hotel Crap Travel Company.
By the way we have got solicitors on to it now.

Room Tip: Great for all except that quiet romantic break.

I am very puzzled by the negative reviews on this page, and am left wondering if some of these people stayed at the same hotel. Rosa Beach was one of the best hotels we've stayed in, and we couldn't really have asked for more.

The staff are very friendly and work hard to make sure you have a good time. Every Monday they do a "meet the managers" cocktail reception by the pool which was a nice touch. The room was large and clean, although there wasn't a fridge which would have been handy. The entertainment was fairly typical of this type of resort and not really our kind of thing, although we discovered that they often had live musicians (keyboard, saxophone,...) in the bar at night which provided a nice atmosphere.

We never found any problem getting sun beds, and we were never down before 10am. Ok, the ones at the side of the pool were always taken, but there is a huge grassy area beside the pool which has plenty of beds, as does the beach. The security staff will get sunbeds for you if you can't find any.

The food was excellent - plenty of variety and it never got repetitive. There is a large "show cooking" area where food is cooked to order for you (omelettes, pancakes, eggs etc. at breakfast, and a variety of meat, poultry, veg and pasta at lunch and dinner) so everything is fresh and hasn't been sitting out. It also means you can ask for things to be cooked the way you like them. In the afternoon, crepes, paninis and pizzas are cooked to order for you in the beach bar.

The beach is beautiful, although quite small. The water is really shallow quite far out so it's very safe. The pool is salt water. Beach towels are available for a 20DT deposit. You can change them on a Tuesday and Saturday for free, or can pay a small amount if you want fresh beach towels each day.

There are buses to Sousse (hotel side of the road) and Monastir (opposite side of the road) which are very regular and unbelievably cheap. There are usually always taxis outside the hotel, and the reception have a price guide so that you know what price to try and haggle to. The security staff at the gate are happy to help you sort a taxi at a good price if you want them to.

All in all, Rosa Beach was a fantastic hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

To start with thomas cook say this hotel is an hour drive away from airport, well it is if you don't have about 5 other drops before you reach the Rosa beach. So the transfer took nearly 2 hours. We arrived at about 3am Sunday morning. When we arrived we were greeted by chaotic scenes, there was a large group of French people trying to book in. There was lots of arguments between the two men on reception and this group. We were just left wondering when we would even get near reception to book in so we could get to bed. This was not a good first impression of Rosa beach, and we did wonder what we had let ourselves in for. We finally booked in, because the two men were still trying to sort out the group of French people, and with no one to show us to our room, the man on reception just pointed to the lift and said you need to take that one!!! I don't think I've ever been to a hotel where your not shown to your room especially one rated 4 star by Thomas Cook! We got to our room and finally got to bed about 5.30.
As other reviewers have said there is a problem with people reserving sunbeds. It was not a problem for us as we were not prepared to get up at silly o'clock to reserve a bed around the pool, we were on holiday, so we always went to the beach, where we always managed to get a bed. The food at Rosa was good, always a good variety. But as other reviewers have said there is a fly problem, which is not dealt with. So really didn't like eating anything that was cold like salads as flys just landing and walking all over it. But always got a table at the restaurant and the waiters and cooks all work very hard. In fact all the staff were very polite and helpful and all worked very hard. Didn't have much to do with the animation team but again they worked very hard and were friendly, and not pushy if you didn't want to join in. The all inclusive drinks were ok. The vodka was a bit rough until you got used to it. They had punch bowls around the hotel with cocktails in, but I didn't try these again because of the flys, as these bowls were sitting around for hours and quite often had dead flys floating in them. But if you wanted a fresh cocktail you could order one at bar.
On the last day of our holiday our departure from Rosa was not until 8.20pm but you have to check out of your room at 12pm. We decided to pay to keep our room until 6pm as this was offered on our welcome letter. But when we asked to keep our room we were told no as they were too full. This ruined our last day really.
All in all the Rosa Beach is an ok hotel. No way is it 4 star. We had a relaxing holiday. Would we ever go back to this hotel, no.

Firstly I would just like to say to anyone considering going on holiday here please ignore the bad reviews, as these people just seem to be looking for problems to complain about. We cannot fault this hotel at all even the first couple of problems we had with our room were dealt with quickly and efficiently and did not disturb us at all.

The main thing that made this holiday for us was the animation team they are AMAZING! They work so hard to make sure that everyone is having a good time and there is always something for everyone to get involved with in the day. There night shows were incredible they are all amazing dancers and work so hard to make sure they shows are done to a high standard, my boyfriend was even asked to play a part in one of the comedy sketches 'titanic' and I couldn't stop laughing ! We got to know the animation team quite well and will miss them very much Sonia and her team sherro, pedro, munter, momo, kiwi, willy, and billy really do make the hotel and we hope they at still there when we return some day !

Secondly the waiting staff were fantastic we had two waiters who took very good care of us always had a table for us and knew out drinks and got them straight away, on our last day they even made up the table with flower petals and origami swans they really do do there best which is why we made sure every evening we have them a tip, as we thought they deserved it for all there hard work !

Our room was very nice and modern (I can't see why anyone would say the hotel is dated) the maids did a very good job we had clean sheets and towels every day and the room was cleaned to a good standard. We didn't have the best view from our balcony as we were overlooking the waste land however it wasn't as bad as some people make out and when booking we didn't ask for a pool/sea view so we didn't expect one !

We did a few trips whilst we were there which were good we booked the camels and pirate boat trip through Thomas cook and quad biking through Sam and Ali who offer trips also.

We also went shopping with another couple on our last day in monastir we went to the fixed price store and some of the market we didn't find them too hassling and we picked up some great bargains after getting some tips from munter!

Overall we had an amazing 2 weeks at Rosa beach and we would definitely like to return some time soon ! All the staff were friendly they didn't expect tips but a lot of them definitely deserved to be tipped. We only found one rude waiter who appeared to be in charge of the Italian / international restaurant, he seemed to discriminate against some of the guests in the restaurant such as us which we think may be because we are young by not giving us proper wine glasses which everyone else appeared to have and wine coolers etc. he also turned people away who had booked saying he was full when there were empty tables however of the people went to reception they would go with
them and get them a table. Therefore we did not tip that waiter on the two visits but we did tip the other one who was very helpful! This was the only thing that we were disappointed with, it was very minor and only the fault of one member of staff so therefore it did not effect us very much.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to come back !
Thank you to all the staff !!

Courtney and Ashton

Can't say anything bad about our two week stay at rosa beach. It was my little baby's first holiday and he loved it. Staff are brill can't do enough for you. We did tip at the end of our holiday to say thank. They work so hard and such long hours they deserve it. We look at the reviews and were a little unsure about going but the comments couldn't be more wrong. The people who complain obviously have nothing better to do. Food was lovely something there for everyone. Sunbed do go quickly but if you see the staff they will do all they can to help you. Rooms clean and comfortable. Animation team are the life and soul of the party :) a little sad now zizi has gone tho :(
Can't wait for our return in five days :D see you soon

I had been looking forward to this holiday for over 6 months and when it came I very much needed it - we arrived at 5am on Monday 9th September, after a delayed flight, very tired. Upon arriving at the hotel it was in complete darkness, it looked like it was shut. Reception was open, we arrived with another family of 3, we (and they) were told there was no rooms, then no booking, then offered separate rooms, the guy behind reception just kept saying "listen to me listen to me" this was very rude & frustrating. He kept talking to another member of staff who was going around looking for rooms, they found us one, but whilst looking for a room for the other family he actually went in to a room to find someone in bed asleep, this room was obviously occupied! How embarrassing and unprofessional. On the evening of day 2 all the lights were switched off outside and no emergency lighting on the steps down to the entertainment area, it was around 10pm and in complete darkness I fell down the marble steps (missed the last 2 steps) causing a bad sprain to my ankle resulting in 2 days in a wheelchair as they provided me (of which I had to pay for) crutches which were those under the armpit crutches, not really designed for women. There was not buttons on the lifts, we were on the 3rd floor, there was just holes in the panel that you were expected to stick your finger into – extremely dangerous and should have been fixed immediately or cordoned off, we noticed this on day one and reported it, even the Thomas Cook rep did but still nothing was done, obviously Health & Safety doesn’t matter in Tunisia. I will say the food, beach, waiting staff & hotel relations manager were wonderful. The options of drinks at the bar were extremely limited and only provided a few brands of cheap imitation alcohol, not even the option of better brands to pay for. Due to the bad experience of day 1 & day 2 I wouldn’t go back.
