Room was better than any 3 star i have been to. Firm but comfortable mattress on bed. Air con was working, which kept room at nice temperature. didnt spend huge amounts of time in the room.

Tipping even just a couple of Dinar a day (about 75p) keeps everyone happy and you definitely get more attention this way.

Huge pool. Plenty of sunbeds. Thick comfy mattress for each sunbed too. Not quite enough shaded areas, but generally pretty good. A few people who had reserved sunbeds before 8:30am quite rightly had their towels removed when others turned up and couldnt find a spare bed.

Good mix of nationalities. German, Brits, Russian, Dutch, Belgians, French and a few others too. The food available reflected this, and therefore there was always something for everyone.

We did the A La Carte Lebanese night. Fantastic. Great food, great service. A nice touch, and I would recommend it to everyone.

Would recommend going to the meeting with your rep if there is one, as they give a truthful insight in to what goes on.

Took a walk to the port one morning, but really wish we hadnt bothered. The port is just a few cafes, and lots of boat trips ..... very in-your-face people trying to coax you in. even after our polite smile and "la shukran" ("no thankyou") all we got was a sarcastic response from the cafe owner. So maybe give it a miss unless you are happy to start with low expectations, then maybe you wont be so disappointed.

Food and drink in constant supply at the resort. You can even get waiter service at your sunbed for a small tip each day.

Can complain about anything, although the lack of decent local places to walk to was a bit of a shame.

Would recommend this to friends, and those people that have moaned are those that we meet every year who always find something to complain about and would probably criticise a holiday to the north pole that was "a bit too cold". These people need a chill-out holiday more than most, and really need to sit back a bit more and soak up the slow pace of life in Tunisia.

Congrats to the staff ..... especially the piano bar tender ...... a few Dinar each day gets you the really top notch Mojito instead of the standard one.

I've just come back from the resort Sunday 22nd June and overall, I had a great time. I agree with all of the positive comments mentioned in most of the reviews regarding the stay, however I feel like some important points should be noted.

I'll start with some of the Tunisian people we encountered. All of the hotel staff were absolutely lovely, apart from a select few. The quad bike guy was seemingly friendly, until we told him we didn't want to do it, at which point he stropped towards us for the rest of the holiday. However, the worst came from the waterfront team. A group of 4 of us did the 'sofa' in the sea (inflatable sofa pulled along by a speedboat) which was great fun, and they took photos of us too! The photos were hilarious, so we thought, they're 20 Dinar to get put on a disk, why not?! So we paid them, thanked them over and over for a great time, only to come home to find the disc empty of photos. I had watched the man seemingly burn the photos onto the disk, but it appears we were merely duped out of 20 Dinar, which was a shame because the photos were great. We had been warned that a lot of people will try and con you out of your money, so that's really something to look out for.

Personally, the most annoying issue for me was regarding sun beds. Now we have all experienced the race for the sun beds in the morning, however this was a new level. There are signs around the resort clearly stating (in all languages) that reservation of sun beds before 8:30AM would result in the belongings being removed, which is fair right? So when I came down at 7:45AM each morning to find EVERY sun bed reserved with towels, but with no one to be seen, I began to get frustrated. I got especially frustrated when I did finally manage drag a sun bed from miles away to the beach (no parasol, so no shade) and spent the day there, to see that a lot of the reserved sun beds with parasols would never be touched by the owners of those towels, and were left unused the whole day. I learnt that many people had learnt to tip the man in charge of distributing the sunbed cushions, around 10-15 Dinar a day, so that he could go down to the beach in the early hours and reserve all of the sun beds. It seemed like a no-brainer to tip the man like everyone else did, but 15 Dinar x 6 full days = 90 Dinar, which equates to about £40, just for sun beds, and I wasn't prepared to fork that out.

Despite these issues, I did have a really great week at the resort, but wanted to share my personal experiences that perhaps tainted my overall enjoyment within the resort.

Just returned home from the palm marina after reading the other views maybe we were just unlucky with the room we we were given. On arrival we had to wait for a room we arrived at lunch time it wasn't ready until 2.00 although this is quite normal we asked again at 3.00 to be told to wait a little longer we the got a room that was not a superior sea view as we had booked with secret escapes. I was twin beds and looked out onto a roof I went back to reception to be told to wait again we were then given a room which was a suite ok but very dated lovely king size bed but not ready went back to reception again to be told they had nothing else it was on the low floors no sea view and had to wait for it to be cleaned so finally got in a room at 5 30.
The food was fine although a bit repetitive the al a carte meals offered were nice. Pool area was nice and kept clean some areas of the hotel quite dirty corriders and carpets not good. The staff were good and constant tipping got you extra attention.
I would not return to this hotel it had its good points but it may be personel preference but not the standard I was expecting.

Room Tip: high floor sea view if you can get it

Couldn't fault this holiday really, stayed for a week 7th-14th June 2014 in room 615 which was amazing! Loads of space, lovely bed, very clean, two toilets and a bathroom which were always clean! (but had some issues with no hot water around 4-8 some evenings which was a huge inconvenience but they did try and resolve this) also had a lovely lounge area and two large balconies which were also great!
The staff went above and beyond at all times and were all very polite and friendly! The animation team were very friendly and entertaining and made all the guests feel welcome :)
The gym was good quality, clean and had very good equipment.

The pool was very nice and the sunbeds were good as they provided a sunbed cushion.
The beach is so close (at the end of the hotel) which was such a bonus and the excursions arranged through sunshine holidays were really fun and good value! (I recommend the Zulu night!).
The food was really nice and the bars had a good choice of drinks as well!
Would definitely return to el mouradi palm marina! An overall fantastic holiday!

first off BIG UP to Mario ....good geeza

but all the staff are wonderful helpful and made us feel very special especially the front of house manager who made our stay and my birthday a week to remember
we have stayed in many 5 star hotels and paid 3 times what we paid for this holiday but this holiday out shines them all mainly due to the great staff
our room was spacious and spotless with a lovely balcony with evening sun
the food was varied and very tasty and we dined in the a la carte restaurant on my birthday which was the tunisian evening and the food was superb and they made it even more special by decorating the table with rose petals and candles and brought me a cake and sang the appropriate song lol
would recommend you try this fantastic little gem

Room Tip: 440 gets the evening sun and is quiet

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this fantastic hotel. I couldn't fault it in any way, shape or form. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, a huge choice and something for everyone, the waiting staff were brilliant and were always one step ahead.
The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel in general was very clean. There were plenty of sunbeds available and was a pleasure to look out of the window and not sea a sea of towels reserving sunbeds. The beach was amazing and once again plenty of sunbeds. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the very near future.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms were wonderful

We have just spent a week at this hotel and had the most amazing holiday! The hotel itself is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach and is very family friendly - all ages and tastes are catered for. The food is plentiful and ranges from the familiar to the exotic! The hotel facilities are great - everything you may need or want is available. The best thing about this hotel however is the staff. Friendly, welcoming and more than happy to help. Nothing is too much. A special thank you to the animation team who are entertaining in every way and across every age. They made us feel like part of the team and are sorely missed now we are back at home. Thank you Palm Marina!

Room Tip: The superior sea view rooms are well worth booking!
