We went with low expectations and being both 26 we only wanted a clean bed & sun, both of which we got but not alot of anything else.
The staff were fine and perfect imo, reception staff were somewhat rude but rest of the facility was perfect, we tipped the waiter at tea time every day. Only 3 dinar which is just over £1 and he kept our table free, got us drinks before we sat down and put flowers on it for us unlike the other tables and genuinely looked after us the entire time we was there.

The food scenario, well if you live off salad and carrots then you're in luck. If not then ill break it down, breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fried eggs, 2 variants of the same cereal, left over vegetable dishes for the night before and ofc the normal breaded goods.
Dinner was pretty much the same as tea dishes, turkey dish, chicken dish, grilled fish, vegetable dish, pasta & salad. If you're wanting variety then you're not getting it here. But most of all - don't expect any fruit at all other than water melon on an evening which is like gold dust. We had to resort to buying banana's from the vendors walking up and down the beach each day.

We stayed in a bungalow, room 71 and well it was horrid and no idea what the maid did each day other than I made the mistake of leaving some coins on my cabinet one day to which they vanished and in return we got 2 swans on the bed made from towels. Bathroom was just mold central, shower rail and shower was just laughable and hanging from the wall, the toilet seat broken, urine stains behind the toilet that never left the entire time we was there, dead beetles behind the toilet, i even had to wrestle a cockroach from the room but most of all, we had a a/c unit which we wasn't allowed the have the remote for because it wasn't hot enough. The hottest day was 36 degrees, the room has 1 window that no air got in and basically it was a huge sweat box but its ok because at least we had a small fridge we could put drinks in. Sleeping was just awful due to the heat, it might as well of been a pure sauna without the steam.

The site entertainment we didnt watch at all, but tbh it didnt start till about 9.30 at night anyway going by the noise and end till 11ish, so dont expect to sleep if your opposite the pools etc

The drinks aswell, you had to pay 1 dinar which is prob 40p for a bottle of water keeping in mind this was all inc, they gave you drinks in basically 250ml glasses regardless if pop or booze, so you're up every 2mins for a refill.

The gym is pathetic and tiny, and costs 10 dinar for 1 hour, its litually not even worth the effort of finding it, or even paying it. Just jump in the cold pool do some lengths and then body weighted exercises.

The shop onsite, tried short changing me 4 times in about 8 visits for pop and some snacks.

The TV we had as well was old skool, ie none flat screen. Something kids of today will be in awe of at how old fashioned they look. You have to pay for the remote but we didn't bother as there was only 2 channels in English, or should i say semi English. They were both movie channels so the films were English but adverts etc weren't. All the movies on both channels were cinema releases and popular DVDs i had already seen them all at some stage but they helped keep us sane at least.

Like normal also, get up early if you want a lounger, my advice is get on the beach, the poolside is like a heat trap with no wind and you have the entertainment sporadic throughout the day. The beach is nice enough but they had 1 guy man the bar there and if you wanted a drink prepare to wait 15mins or so for your tiny glass of pop/beer.

We didn't go out of resort as we did that before and got harassed to hell, on the beach though there was the odd jetski rep and quad but if you said no thank you they somehow remembered you said that for the remainder of your duration and left you alone and simply said hello every time they saw you.

There also was alot of german travellers which alot of were topless women.

Even with all the above, and prob some other stuff ive missed. I wouldnt say it was horrid but i certainly wouldn't recommend.

Room Tip: Dont upgrade to a bungalow.

We were in this hotel for the Cuban Allstar experience and had a blast! The hotel is very clean, and the staff is friendly. Food was good, however it could use a little more variation, we found that a lot of food was kind of the same almost every day. Our favorite spot was outside on the terrace near the swimming pool drinking cocktails! The animation team is great, so also very good for families with children.

We had an enjoyable time at Club Kantaoui however we all feel that we could only rate the hotel as average. It was lively which was great; the animation team kept everyone busy all day if you wanted to be and the water sports on the beach were excellent. Staff were mostly pleasant, however the bar staff by the pool were rude and the waiter we had during our stay, although very nice, was a little too forgetful. I always look forward to a cocktail on holiday but I was disappointed with the drinks selection; the food was nice and we had no complaints. The hotel needs a bit of TLC overall really, the rooms were nice however they needed a good scrub and the baths were awful, no enamel left and looked pretty gross. The rooms were comfortable though and the beds were lovely and soft. The evening entertainment was good and there were pool tables etc to keep busy in the evening.Pool was huge but freezing!! The location was good in that there were plenty of shops in the local area and it was perfectly safe to go out. Port el Kantaoui is about 20-30 walk either by road or by beach which is lovely. Be careful when dining out in this area as we got scammed and charged double what we should have done and they then just closed up for the night after taking our money. They will be EXTRA nice and friendly so you don't have as much will to challenge it, very sneaky. DON'T GO TO THE RESTAURANT CALLED 'PARADISE' for this reason. Sousse is worth a visit for the markets and it is about 20 mins in a taxi; NEVER PAY MORE THAN 7 Dinar for a taxi there as told by our holiday rep. Obviously normal rules apply for visiting places like this; bartering etc. Overall enjoyable stay but hotel needs a lot of TLC.On a last note, go quad biking through the hotel it was amazing!!

We had a great holiday here, we had low expectations as the week we went was really cheap and there was lots of negativity on the trip advisor reviews, but we had an amazing time, I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely go back! Beach and pool area great, loads going on in the hotel- day and night. We didn't get hassled at all on the beach as the vendors get moved on. Good variety of food and really friendly staff. I really don't understand what people are complaining about or expect. If you don't want to stay in the hotel complex- there are bars/restaurants and shops right outside the front. The bedrooms are a bit dated, but we had a family room with a balcony and pool view which was nice and quiet. No complaints really!

We stayed at El Mouradi Club from 28th May to 4th June as a group of ladies. We had a fantastic holiday.
Rooms - we had three rooms in the 400's which were fine as per Tunisian standard I have stayed in before at other hotels. Lovely displays left on beds by maids every day. Towels changed regularly and of good quality.
Food - we were very impressed with the food after reading some reviews, the breakfast was probably the poorest but we always managed to find something to eat. (Note to hotel - please do the fresh omelettes every day). Lunchtime we ate at the Pizzaria, the lady waiting on the tables deserved a medal she was brilliant with us. Service was outstanding. Evening meal, our table was decorated every evening by the waiters, we did give them 2 dinar on the first evening which is pennies in our money and the service was again outstanding. We managed to eat a three course meal twice a day at this hotel!
Drinks - we never had to queue for very long at the bars and even better was the waiter service, a small tip goes a long way, but you don't have to. Please bear in mind this is a very poor country and their wages are nothing compared to British. Only negative for us all week was that most of the bar men (in all the bars) were very miserable and it took a lot of coaxing to get a smile out of them! Drinks were good measures but they need bigger glasses for the beer!
Entertainment - the animation team were brilliant and day time entertainment was excellent and they asked once for you to join in but went away if you didn't....evening entertainment is very poor, the entertainers did their own sketch show on our last night and it was a really good laugh. But if you are looking for lots of evening entertainment you will be disappointed here.

Spa - we did use the spa and had a turkish style bath, seaweed body mask, steam room and full body massage for £25, this was outstanding value, the massage was out of this world! Recommend this on your first day ONLY.

All in all we had a briiliant week and made our own evening entertainment. Would recommend for a week's break in the sunshine at a very reasonable price!

Recently stayed at El Mouradi Club Kantaoui. Very little to complain about with this property. From check in to leaving after our 7 nights stay all went well. The hotel is clean, and the bedrooms well maintained. The bed linen and towels show their age. Food repeative; but well presented and plenty of choice. The beach can be found at the back of the hotel. Just as the hotel itself its clean, and plenty of sun beds. Not much of entertainment in the evenings. However value for money; clean and staff professional and friendly.
We got what we came for - sun, food and relaxation.
Would definately recommend this property to people of my age. Also couples with children.

Room Tip: Just request that suits your needs at time of booking. Its your holiday and we deserve the best.

Well, where to start.

First day we arrived, handed our booking in and they sat us all down and gave us watery orange and grenadine. We got our room and the bellboy took our cases. The corridor was dark and dingy because every light bulb was an energy saving bulb so it was pretty bad. Got into the room and the bellboy put our cases down and stood there, I handed him 3.5 dinar as a tip (yes, not a lot as that was all we had in change and I was not giving him 10) he looked at it in disgust and said "is that all? That's not even £2", now lets remember this is the job that the hotel pay him to do and a tip is if he goes above and beyond what he should do.

So we got settled and put our bags down and put the air conditioning on (or so I thought). We went out to grab something to eat from the "pizzeria" place, it was a stale baguette with a piece of cheese on. We then decided to take a walk down the beach to the madina, that was nice as the El Mouradi couldn't ruin this.

When we got back to the room it was horrendously hot, I felt the air conditioning and it was blowing warm air out. I went to reception to ask them to get someone to come and look at it, the guy said he would send someone down.

We went to lunch and we both had pasta and sauce, this was lovely. So we went for a swim in the pool and a relax. Afterwards we went back to the room, and again it eas stupidly warm. I got back to reception and asked when our air conditioning would be looked at, the receptionist told us that the air conditioning wouldn't be coming on until the 15th June, is the management actually thick? It's getting into the high 30's and you don't put the air conditioning on even after many complaints from guests? Even after being spoken to by the Thomas Cook rep, the customer relations lady was pretty useless as well, she just shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing that could be done.

After all this we needed to get bottled water for brushing our teeth etc and found that the hotel charge for this despite it being all inclusive. Even at breakfast time it is extra for fresh orange juice, most half board and full board hotel provide this free at breakfast, why, as an all inclusive can this place not...

On the second day of our holiday when we were sat around the pool the entertainment staff came up to us and asked if we wanted to do dancing lessons, we just said "no thank you" and he just said "lazy" and walked off, now I don't feel I should be called lazy because I don't want to do dancing lessons.

At evening meal the meat was terribly fatty and once again we had pasta and the same sauce, but this time with chips.

The safe deposit boxes are not in your room, they are located next to reception with your own key so beware if you are worried about your passports etc.

I tried being positive the first day after the rude bellboy, but it just went down hill very quickly.

I am currently sat in the reception on the wifi as this place is so boring, the reception is packed of an evening with everybody on wifi as there is nothing better to do and they do not provide in room wifi as the booklet says.

You would not believe it but we are only 3 days into this holiday and we are here for another 4, and we cannot wait to get back home away from this place.

Please avoid if you want a decent holiday, pay a little more and go to Egypt or any other hotel in Tunisia.
