Just returned from a weeks stay, hotel great, staff attentive, nothing too much trouble, rooms spacious, had to move rooms as ants in first room220 given room422 top floor and both had sea/pool view, had a couple of cool /dull days but that can happen anywhere, beach good, waiters day and night can't do enough for you.only down side, lunch which was in restaurant , 12;30 till 14;30 then pancakes and cakes 15;00 till 16;30 in lobby area, it would have been good to have a pool bar open through the day which may happen soon as they were setting up tables near the beach area! Did not do any trips, went for a rest which is what we got. Would return but later in the year.Did walk to marina took about an hour on the road and taxi back cost 5 dinars.

Just returned from a week at this fantastic hotel and I can't wait to return.

The entrance lobby and bar area is magnificent with. Handeliers, marble floors and grand piano and the most attentive staff ever! Bags are taken up to rooms for you. Chairs are held as you sit, drinks are poured and topped up constantly.

Staff are friendly, welcoming and happy to chat.

The pool was a little cold to swim in just yet but not too bad if you don't stop moving!

The towel man was lovely and provided sunbed mattresses for us along with a welcoming smile everyday.

The food was plentiful with a fair variety. The coconut mousse was lush!

I miss this place so much I can't wait to return!

We've just come back from a week at the Imperial Marhaba and had a great time.

The hotel lobby is magnificent and on arrival we had a speedy, efficient check in and cases brought up to our room within just a few minutes. The room was spacious and well-appointed with separate toilet and bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfy I've slept! The room was thoroughly cleaned daily and the minibar well stocked. We had upgraded to a sea view room (318) and had wonderful views of the pool and the sea. The only niggle with the room was that it didn't have a mirror on the dressing table.

As we run a couple of small businesses we'd picked the hotel as it had wifi in the rooms. Unfortunately there had been a problem and it wasn't working throughout our stay. Reception staff were very apologetic and very helpfully allowed us to use their office computer that was connected on dial up.

The rep, Issam, gave a lively, entertaining presentation/welcome meeting and was very helpful in dealing with any queries that we had.

We went on an excursion called Market Fever that we both found very disappointing. We only had one hour 15 mins in the market and this only enabled us to get to the usual touristy rubbish as opposed to the heart of a Tunisian market where the locals buy their goods. The wine tasting was pretty dismal - I'd expected to walk through the vineyards and have a full talk about the grapes, the taste of the wine whereas we were presented with around 9 bottles on a table and the "owner" telling us "this is a Chardonnay, this one's a Syrah"etc and if you want you can buy. As we left it appeared to me from the signage that it was more of a distribution centre rather than a proper vineyard. We were then taken to a grotty restaurant for a fixed lunch that was included and presented with a mixed salad that looked like it had been prepared a couple of days ago - I refused it and then a turkey escalope that had obviously been kept warm for some time which was dry and stringy. We walked out and ate at a lovely fish restaurant two doors down. However, the guide that we had was spectacularly knowledgeable and informative - that was the saving grace.

The downside to the hotel was that many of the visitors were quite a bit older than us and at times the bar area looked like a high class nursing home - though that's not the hotel's fault. Bar service was excellent with waiters bring drinks once a glass was nearly empty.

The food was plentiful and good quality - I'm a picky eater in terms of quality and there was always something available. However, the older visitors did get on my nerves, constantly complaining that the food was "foreign" - what did they expect in a foreign country?? and commenting that they only ate English food (despite piling their plates with pasta, pizza, brie etc etc)!! The hotel did have an influx of Tunisians holidaying there on the weekend and unfortunately didn't seem to maintain the same quality and choice of food - it seemed as if they just hadn't got the staff in place. Our waiter was very attentive, constantly topping up our glasses and pulling the chair out to sit as I returned to the table.

The pool area was lovely and the sunbed "man" found us beds daily in the sun complete with mattresses. Unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough to use the pool.

We did make use of the spa which was just wonderful and a good price for a special package of an afternoon of pampering.

All in all it was a lovely break with friendly, helpful and attentive staff. I'd recommend this hotel without hesitation but it's probably better for adults as there are limited activities for kids.
