“Very interesting place (I include info on renting a car)”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 via mobile

It is truly amazing to think that Antiocus actually went through all this trouble to be buried there. Wonderful location, truly connected with the gods. However, no matter how much I agree with in situ visits of historical monuments the items here are eventually going to perish. I guess they lasted for 2000 years but still...
We rented a car to visit this place from Cihan rent a car on Goksoku sokak no 9. The number there is 05346349385. The guy gives decent price so it is 120 TL for a saloon car and 200 TL for a 4x4. These prices are for distance up to 200 kilometres. For more mileage is 10 TL for every 10 km. Others in the area charge much more for Nemrut starting from 200 - 400 TL.

“Wonderful experience”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

We visited Nemrut Daği between 10.00 and 12.00 am. Temperatures were between 20 and 27 degrees Celsius at the site (35 to 40 in Kahta/Adiyaman). There was a cool breeze blowing at the top, so a T-shirt was fine.

The way from Adiyaman took 90 minutes by car. From Kahta it's about 35 minutes less. The paved road is easily handled in a normal car.

Entrance fee was TL 11 pp. Tickets covered Nemrut Daği, Arsameia, the Roman bridge and tumulus.

From the parking lot to the top of Nemrut Daği took about 15 minutes via the 333 steps to the western terrace. Condition of steps is very good.

We encountered 3 tourists on their way down when we went up. After that, we had the whole site to ourselves, which was a delight and adds to the experience. The price for solitude is not getting to see the sun rise or set.

Highly recommended!

“amazing experience”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We took the old dirt road there, it is being upgraded, and marvelled at the scenery along the way. The path and steps up to the top are well maintained. The stone heads are magnificent and the views spell binding. Definitely one of my favourite experiences in Turkey.

“A magnificent monumental tomb”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

Visiting the the 50m high (used to be 60m) tomb of Kommagene King Antiochus I was a extraordinary experience. Seeing the impressive stone statues of various deities overlooking the Taurus mountains, especially at sunset, was unforgettable.
The hike up, on wide stone steps took about 20 mins. For a
fee a donkey taxi is available.

“A walk to the summit”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Walking to the summit was windy & freezing however once arriving at the summit I forgot about the trek up as the scenery was spectacular. The figures and head were an amazing site. Something to just stand and gaze upon in aware. The sunset was spectacular . Mt Nemrut is over 2,400 metre above sea level so matter what time of year you make the journey it's going to be cold. The way up now is paved and our guide mentioned it was now much easier to walk. Going down is quite easy. I would definatly recommend a visit at sunset
