“Lovely little hotel with a great location and friendly staff”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

This is a gem of a hotel, great location a few minutes walk to Kleopatra Beach and near all the bars, shops and restaurants you would want. The rooms are a fair size, spotlessly clean, with air conditioning, fridge, ample storage and a balcony with chairs. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, ours had a large walk-in shower, hairdryer etc.
The hotel has a pool, sun-lounger area and also a lobby with free wi-fi that works outside and we could still get a signal on the 2nd floor (though this is not promised by the hotel).
When we were there the other guests were very respectful, young people mostly (maybe students or young professionals). I would say the property is good for people of any age, though the vibe would suit young adults best. There's no catering available on site but there are plenty of options for food and drink within a 2 minute walk ranging from restaurants to convenience stores - so budgeting is easy.
The street the hotel is located in is quiet, not much traffic.
The hotel is certainly a good base for exploring, as it is within 5 minutes walk of the beach, 10 minutes to Dalmatas Cave and the bottom of the hill going up to Alanya Castle; 15/20 minutes walk to the Harbour area on the other side of the Castle. If you don't want to walk just go to either Attaturk Boulevard (1 minute away on foot) or the main road in the opposite direction (Mehmet Akif Ersoy Cd) for buses to the Harbour or to the Alanyum mall and/or the main non-touristy shopping area. Tip - get away from the sea front for a bit and head into the part of town the Turks all go to, there's some better and cheaper restaurants and bars there.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the themed rooms, we had the Thai one, they are fun.

Nice small hotel two minutes from Cleopatra beach. Shops and restaurants nearby. Very quiet hotel, really nice oasis for rest after wandering around Alanya. Rooms with interesting decoration.
Definitelly recommend it for travelers with limited budget!

This is the worst place I have ever been to.
It seemed to be a small hotel runned by a russian family.
They did not seem to understand that hotel business is service business. They were not polite and had no service sense at all. The hotel was supposed to be total-renovated in 2013 this can not be true. The room was so small that I could only open my suitcase if I placed it on top of the bed. Small refrigerator stacked with things I didn't want. There was a store 50 meters down the street where I could buy exactly what I wanted to half the price. However as mentioned the refrigerator was already stacked to the ceiling and a room so small and unfurnished that there was no place to put the things I didn't want inside the refrigerator. The hotel was also closed between 0300-0700. There was no information about this when we checked in nor on the website when we booked the hotel.

My advice, never even consider this hotel.

Thanks for attempting to stay at our hotel. If you look at all of the reviews, it is clear that you are the only one who thinks that we know nothing about hotel business. We appreciate you expressing your opinions, yet attach no value to them. Now, when you check into a hotel that has curfew, you are not expected to arrive late and bang on the hotel doors for two hours. Moreover, destroying hotel property, specifically ripping apart national flags of other countries(as you did while waiting for the hotel to open) is not something we want our guests to be doing. We understand you were too drunk to realize what you were doing. We are really thankful that you took time to review our hotel, but you should have mentioned that the reason your experience were not that great is simply because you were kicked out of our hotel for inappropriate behaviour. Our hotel has the reputation for being a very quite and clean hotel, therefore we do not welcome guests that come to Alanya simply to get drunk to the point of not realizing what you are doing. Now, a refrigerator packed with "things you don't want" is called a minibar. The room is completely furnished, exactly as you see on all of our pictures online. We understand that you are just trying to say as many negative things about us, which are not true, and that's fine, because we like attention. The information about 3 am closure is both on the hotels.com where you booked, the email confirmation, on the front door of our hotel, at the reception, in the room rules and regulations, and we even say it to the guests before check in and after the check in. We are sorry that you were not very careful when booking and checking in, and would appreciate if you read the rules and listen to what people tell you upon check in. Moreover, Turkey has a law that prohibits distributing behaviour such as making noise in the middle of the night, so we are really thankful that you did not get arrested and taken to the police department. We feel really sorry for your friend travelling with you and hope that she never again gets to witness the type of behaviour you were demonstrating. Once again we see no value in your feedback, and would like to congratulate you on being officially entered in to the blacklist of our hotel and all the sister hotels of ours. The reason for doing so is once again inappropriate and unethical behaviour, such as disturbing hotel guests and other neighbourhood residents, ripping apart national flags of other countries, sleeping on the door steps, being drunk to the point of not being able to control your actions, and inappropriate language. We hope you don't book one of our associated hotels in the future, as you will be denied entry at the check-in. All the loyal guests staying at our hotel know that our rooms are not too big, yet continue to come back to enjoy the quite and relaxing atmosphere. We in turn are proud to continue providing them with an opportunity to enjoy such a relaxing atmosphere by eliminating those who behave inappropriately and break the laws of Turkey and the rules of Hildegard Hotel. Thank you very much for taking the time to write us a review. We will continue providing great service to our loyal guests, and they will continue to enjoy staying with us, no matter how hard you try to ruin our reputation. Moreover, we will continue to smile and shine, while remembering your review will always make us lose ourselves in laughter!

Thank you so so so much for your time and take care,

Kirill Solovyev

Location:
Hildegard Hotel is excellent for those looking to stay in the heart of Alanya City (not the City Center). The hotel conveniently located a short walk away from Kleopatra Beach and is smack in the middle of an abundance of hotels, restaurants, small markets.
Hospitality:
The hotel is family run and the owners are 'super' friendly and accommodating. They will go out of their way to help you out and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel also has a pool (small size) with few lazy chairs for sunbathing.
Rooms:
The rooms are small-ish sized but have all the amenities you typically need on a holiday - Air Conditioning, TV, fully stacked Mini Bar/Fridge, decent storage space and hair dryer in the bathroom.
Facilities:
A lift is available but barely large enough to carry 2 people (so use it to take your luggage + 1 person). Mind you, there are only 3-4 floors, so not too much of a hassle.
WiFi is available, but the router is in the ground floor lobby, so your connection strength may vary if you are anywhere on the second floor upward. It would be nice to have few repeaters on the floors so guests can enjoy WiFi from their room - but hey, if you're on a holiday, you may want to enjoy the city rather than browse the internet in the hotel.
There is a small balcony too for the smokers, although I doubt there are any proper smoking rooms available since I requested one and there didn't seem to be any.

Overall a great experience and highly recommended!

Room Tip: The rooms may have a cramped bathroom with lack of proper ventilation, lack of WiFi strength on 2nd...

I stayed two nights at Hildegard hotel in the beginning of the June 2013. Location of this hotel is very good and actually quite peaceful even if there are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. Rooms were renovated and in good condition, decoration was ok.

Owners were very helpful, friendly and service oriented and they seemed to enjoy their job. When I left hotel late in the sunday evening I had a small problem to get taxi in time to the airport (taxi came one hour late to the hotel). The owner was very helpful trying to get my taxi to the hotel. When I go back to Alanya I will stay at Hildegard hotel again.

I stayed here for about four weeks in May. As noted in other reviews this place has about the best rate in town. The place appears to have been refurbished within the past couple of years as the windows, carpeting, and furnishings looked fairly new. I had a room at the end of the hall that had a little extra space. I had the Irish themed room though a regular room would have been fine. Early in my stay some woman walked in my room in the middle of the night. She didn't stay though.

The televisions have a satellite receiver. Although there were hundreds of channels only about four were in English. Fortunately one station in English was RT (Russia Today) which I thoroughly enjoy for their fair and balanced reporting. Oddly enough another station broadcast Conan, Leno, and Ellen Degeneres at night. The room has a refrigerator which was nice. The pool was filled during my visit, which was also nice, although I went to the beach most days. The lady of the house is very attractive. She doesn't speak much English so I had to deal with her teenage son :(. I would have liked to talk to her more.
