If you want to go to bed early and your co occupant of the room wants to stay out late, you let the co occupant take the key as you go to bed you could wake up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat, no air conditioning and no lights in the room. The room key, inserted in a slot is necessary for the power to come on in the room. Other plastic cards don't work. Good luck in getting the sleep you want and going to the bathroom in pitch black darkness. How hard could be to program a separate room key for each occupant?

Room Tip: Don't check in unless they give each occupant a separate room key

we have recently returned home from our wonderful holiday in Turkey. We stayed in the Monart hotel for a week and it was a very enjoyable and relaxing week. Firstly the hotel is in a great spot its on the front so the beach is just across the road and everything you need is nearby. The staff were fantastic help and very friendly. I went with some family and there were 10 of us so we had booked 3 family rooms and stayed in the family anex which is just behind the hotel with its own pool. i found everything about the hotel great and also the food was delicious with lots of choice. I felt the hotel was great for me and all my family including young children, i would recommend it to everyone because we all enjoyed ourselves very much. One thing I would say about the rooms is that the beds aren't very comfy. I have a bad back and i found the beds very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Also i noticed the hotel kept some pets in the main building next to the toilets. I made me extremely upset to see a beautiful parrot locked up in a small cage with nothing to do in a room with no window just a UV light to keep it alive, there were also several guinea pigs being kept in a fish tank, again with no natural light. I found it very upsetting and distressing to see these animals being kept like this it spoiled our holiday and we found ourselves constantly thinking about it, i hope that the hotel sorts it because i felt this is one of the only things that let it down.

This hotel is what you call a true AI hotel. I'll break it down: rooms; not the biggest we had a twin room and it was still small, however great side sea view and cleaned everyday with the minibar stocked and toiletries also. Restaurant and bar; good variety of food everyday with a salad and dessert islands stocking a great variety! Waiters don't speak much English but they are helpful and friendly. Bar has great choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and because its 24hr AI it's great for those night owls. Beach; all sun beds and umbrellas AI as are the drinks from the beach bar. The beach has lots of pebbles as you near the water and massive rocks in the water so you do have to be careful especially when the water is choppy. Turkish bath; this is one of the best turkish baths I've been to! Nice relaxing atmosphere and Atilla, Fatima and Aisha are just magicians....the two ladies for the massages and Atilla for making sure you get what he promises. Overall this is a good hotel, great location and friendly staff

Room Tip: The side sea view rooms are great but the balcony is small in every room except the front facing sea...

Just returned from 14 nights all inclusive at this hotel. Booked with Easyjet, which offered a good price holiday for the time of year travelling. You need to note that the transfers to this hotel are 2 hours. There is a new airport opening later this year apparently which will cut the transfer time down to 1/2 hour, which is a lot better. On arrival at 1.30am at the hotel( due to the transfer people taking 2 hours to decide which transport to use) we were allocated the wrong room booked. Smaller, no view, no TV,- totally wrong room. Unfortunately the reception guy is not able to sort anything out, which meant that we had to wait until 2 oclock the next day to get our room, unpack and start to enjoy our holiday. A bit of a damper to start with, especially as it was my birthday, and had a long travel! Good job that I bought the print out of the booking confirmed as I had the feeling I would not have been given my room - so another note - please print out and take your paperwork with you. Breakfast is OK, they make eggs, etc for you extra. Lunch is the best meal of the day - usually fish with some cooked meats, salads, fruit and cakes. Dinner is usually a repeat of the same. Have had better food in Turkey, but overall it was good. A bit of a free for all trying to get your table to sit at, but there is another restaurant on the next floor up, if you want to take your food up there. Waiters are up there for drinks. The rooms are very good. A double and single bed, dressing table and mirror, two side tables by the bed, and a large wardrobe with safe ( FOC) Shower room very nice, with toiletries provided. Have to gee up the maids though to change the sheets/towels, but very nice clean outlook with table and chairs on all the balconies. The Hamman on site is fantastic! Cannot praise it enough. Have had many turkish baths/massages in Turkey over the years, but this was the best yet. Thank you! it is a little on the expensive side at £40 each, but really lovely. They have pool/table tennis FOC. A lovely little coffee shop to get your lattes on site. In the afternoon they provide ice creams and also pizzas, which are great - so dont worry with 24/7 all inclusive you WILL gain weight! The beach across the road has free sun beds and a nice little beach bar. They have volley ball on the beach if you feel energetic. Take the bus for 2 turkish lira to Alexandra beach, it is not far and a really nice sandy beach. 15 turkish will get you 2 sunbeds and a brolly - very nice along there for a change of scene. Alanyas shops are plentiful, with a couple of markets in the week if you like that sort of thing. Castle a must for sightseeing, and the pirate ships in the marina for a boat trip out for the day are great. You are limited in this location for getting out anywhere else, unless you book a trip. As we were the only english couple at the resort ( mainly scandinavian/russian/dutch) this does have its own problems.- language/conversation. And having no rep to ask about anything you have to ask reception ( who try to be helpful) and find out things for yourself -.Everything, everywhere is priced in euros, not pounds. ( and more expensive than other places in Turkey) The hotel has a couple of evenings with entertainment laid on which was good.We found the area very quiet as it is outside of Alanya, but the road is very busy, which is noisy in the front rooms. You can easily get into the town for the nightclubs, etc. Beds are lumpy, as are the pillows, so they could so with replacing. Hotel has no atmosphere , I think mainly because of the different nationalities, the amount of people there, and also because the waiters are so busy rushing around they do not have time to chat to anyone. Loads of cats around everywhere, hungry. Friendly little things, especially the ginger one at the front of the hotel which was popular with the guests.

Room Tip: Book a pool view, which are the better rooms

I spent a week in the hotel in April. The hotel had just undergone a total renovation n and it was just opened, so everything was brand new, clean, tasteful, and makes impressions of a very good quality.

The design, both inside and outside was elegant and suitable for a good quality hotel. The hotel consists of two huge buildings with two swimming pool areas (one included the waterslide for kids). The hotel is located by the nice beach promenade, with a smashing view on the beach which is across the street.

My single room was specious with a kingsize bed,and a side bed, and enough storing space for luggage and clothes. The room was nicely furbished with brown. beige and torquise furniture and accesories. It had a balcony and the seaview.

The food in the restaurant was very tasty and abundant, with lots of local specialities. The cofectionary was equisite, as well as the coffee in the hotel patiseria (with was included in the all-inclusive programme)

The staff was very friendly, smiling and always helpful, doing their best to make our stay as confortable as possible.

Thank you to the Managment and Staff for this very enjoyable stay !

Firstly the Cat pictured with this comment was found by us. We are hoping that someone will see it and let us know if it is ok?
Four white paws make it very distinctive.

Please let us know if you see it around the hotel. Thank you.

This is a true account. We enjoyed ourselves immensely while being there, we would enjoy ourselves anywhere together.

On arrival:
We arrived late at the Monart City Hotel Alanya at 2.00 am in the morning with other travelers. We waited for some time after others were seen to their rooms. We finally had to ask if we even had a room! We saw that we were booked in, but the young boy at the desk didn't really have a clue at all about what to do. Eventually we were taken to the second building via stairs and elevator to a room facing other hotels.

Room with a view:
In may of 2012, we had written several times asking for a Sea View. The Monart only replied once confirming our booking, then a second some weeks later saying we had to pay extra for a Sea View. We did write back asking who and how to pay. NO ONE REPLIED. Needless to say, we didn't get our Sea View room.
The next morning we asked if we could have that Sea View Room. We were told NO quite rudely. "You didn't even have a Sea View Room booked", we were told. How ignorant the desk Manager (Ayca) was, is a bitter pill to swallow and ruined our stay completely.
In fact we didn't ask many questions from the Front desk after that. It was pointless, she acted as if she hated us being there.

The room was as usual seemingly clean at first. Later we were to find out that cleaning staff rarely did their jobs correctly. We left some paper and plastic bottles behind the door, since there was no rubbish bin in the room and the very small one in the bathroom was broken. It took over 6 days for these to be found and removed. The toilet despite having a glossy sticker on it saying it had been chemically cleaned, was in fact not touched.

Beds are not changed regularly, in fact, only twice during our stay there. We were given only 2 small shampoos, 2 small gel showers and 3 small soaps at the beginning of our stay (for 14 days). Just before leaving, we were given 1 shampoo and 1 shower gel.

*** Our sweeteners and one wrist bracelet, and a pair of underwear went missing.
We asked for a second key to our room. We were told simply. "NO" Thank you again Ayca. This meant that our room was constantly hot and humid, the Fridge of course was also pointless.

The Hotel:
The Hotel is quite nice actually. Nicely laid out, with various views, and two nice pools. Staff are pleasant enough, excepting the front desk issues. A manager walks around the place checking on things, but obviously wears strange glasses. There is a film of dirt around the Monart in places, even if you see apparently industrious floor cleaners. Bar staff are friendly, especially with the young girls where numbers are exchanged. While at the bar one night, I overheard a loud large man telling one barman that he could get him two girls. Not quite the Ritz.

Overall. This Hotel is pretty good, but there is vast room for improvement. We would not go there again while under the care of the current desk manager whose attitude is something unholy.

The Pools:
Apart from the brave many didn't use the main front pool until the Sun came around. We found out the pool was heated on the last day, but apparently only for sea lions. :-D

On the third day, we were entering the main pool and saw a milky film on top of the water, it was clearly dirty. We never did see anyone cleaning the pool, either at night or during the way. There was no usual device left in the pool to clean it either.
The smaller pool around the back, often used for Children. Was popular with families but also very cold. The bar there was always dirty, but the bar music much better than the 10 songs repeated every 40 minutes at the main pool.

They call it 'Animations' in Turkey. This confused us on arrival. The regular Thursday 'Gala night Band', "Shamen". are awful but were
popular. Quite odd really. A Belly dancer one night was the only animations that we saw there. We were out when the Folk band played.
This was the best so we heard.

The main dining area has some of the best food we have eaten in a Hotel.

There is usually a huge choice of tasty and good looking food on offer. Sometimes however and towards the end of our second week, food was cold, even the chips. A good choice of salads and local flavors made for a good mix. Generally we were very pleased, and often ate far too much.
* The snack bar isn't a preferred place to eat.
We arrived at 9.32 pm to be told we could not eat in the Main restaurant. Very angry we tried the snack bar food. It was ok, sort of.
One morning before leaving for a trip at 3.45 am. We found 6 greasy and disgusting hamburgers on offer. Bread was stale. That taste remained for much of that day, horrible.

Very nice views of the Castle and beyond. We were a little worried since we were not in the main center, but in the end loved the location. 20 minutes or so walk, or hop on the sardine packed bus #1 which arrives every 5 minutes to the center for 1.25 L per person.

The Sea:
Lovely warm water. Warmer than the pools. Stones are a problem, but not a big one. Waves are nice and smooth, not as wild and huge on Cleopatra Beach last year. On the first day I kept feeling something on my ankles. A local man told me while we were swimming that there was small fish that sucked on your feet. At first I thought he was joking, but after a few visits realized he wasn't. He had told me that this started happening this year . Again no big deal, but be aware.

We for the local services this time. They are cheaper and people appear to use them in big numbers.
Be aware that if you only speak English that some trips DO NOT provide an English guide. Sales people will tell you anything to sell off a trip for commissions. Ask for proof of insurance, and always take your own with you just in case.

JEEP SAFARI & SAPADERE were fantastic. Wear something older. YOU WILL GET WET :-D
They do not use Jeeps either. They are all LandRovers, in pretty good shape for their years. We experienced one accident when one car rammed ours and broke a headlight going to Sapadere.
CANIBAL Boat ride is ok. But totally 100% catering for Russian speakers.
The music on board gets monotonous after a while, just thumping.

The service is excellent, all people working there are very nice, food is typical all inclusive stuff you'll find in any place around the world and the rooms are clean. Compared to other hotels of this standard I stayed in in other countries, the rooms in Monart are relatively small. But it could be that it is the case in Turkey in general. Also the restaurant is not very spacious too, if you're just a couple like we were, you'll have to share the table with other guests. When it comes to location it's quite central, it took us 20 minutes by foot to get to the city centre, it's a nice walk in the evening, or you may take a bus from just outside the hotel. On the whole, I would trully recommend this hotel for a hassle free holiday in Alanya. Last but not least, they offered one free meal in their ala carte restaurant to all guests when we were there.
