Reviewed 9 September 2012

we travelled as a family of four ,two children and two adults.childrens ages 11 and 9.We had a private transfer to the hotel which was 2 hours, much longer on a coach apparently 31/2 hours. The hotel is really nice and clean and the rooms cleaned lovely. The hotel is quiet at night only slight traffic noise and the mosque can be heard. We had a sea view which was lovely. The lifts pose a problem at busy times but you get used to it. Food nice and service good waiters very efficent.A good choice of foods and drinks sometimes a wait at busy times but nothing major. The beach nice for a change and the beach bar sufficient. The kids did get a bit bored as the games room wasnt open and the slides were on and off ,when asked to put them on guest relations sorted it .The pool is very slippery and so are the steps so be careful.Lots of people slipped. No problems getting a sunbed in a morning. The entertainment team were good but there needed clarification on who could play the games as sometimes children were left out. They left you alone if you didnt want to play which was good.Shopping was easy by bus.The pool was big enough to see your children and what they were up to.Most of the staff went out there way to be helpful and i would recommend this hotel. The few minor hiccups we did entail were sorted out by Jayni in guest relations. I would imagine next year this hotel with its games room and entertainment will be fab.The lobby bar and terrace bar were nice to relax in of an evening.Cocktails and wine were lovely i dont like cheap wine. Overall a lovely time.

Room Tip: sea view lovely

As mentioned previously, everyone's opinions differ! I travelled with my wife and two children and before i get into the 'nitty gritty' i must say we had a really good holiday at the Diamond Hill and no matter what negatives i detail, please remember that we did have a great holiday.

The hotel being new is quite impressive with all it decor, glass lift and i must say the lighting on the outside of the building is great at night and i really do not want to paint a bad picture of the appearance as the positives do outweigh the negatives but by taking a closer look at certain things, does change your overall impressions of the hotel. There are numerous finishing touches that have without doubt, been rushed and do spoil the hotel appearance to a certain extent. An example would be some of the tiling & grouting around the bathroom. But overall it is an impressive design and does have a great layout. The lifts aren't great and there are issues at peak times of the day but they aren't worth letting them spoil your holiday (we were on the 7th floor!). The rooms were very nicely decorated and our maid certainly did a great job in cleaning our room. The Wi-fi in our room was very intermittent to say the least but was strong in the lobby and the pool area.

The restaurant is nice and the outside dining is a good touch. During our dates, the hotel was fully booked and we found that if we weren't down at 7 for the doors opening, we were waiting and then going back around 8:15 ish when generally there was a table or alternatively, you could stand around and wait in the restaurant for a table to become available which was not our choice. The food was tasty and varied. We liked the fact that you could see the chef's cooking/frying certain foods. The cooking was also the same at the pool bar restaurant but here the food was generally always the same but at least you knew what to expect. As for the bars, lobby bar was relaxing as to was the terrace bar and is great place to relax after a long hot day! The poolside bar was as you'd expect and was pleasant enough. Other good points were the free soft drinks in the room fridge and also the ice cream that was available daily.

If i were to be critical, the area that for us wasn't very good was the poolside safety and also the pool safety itself. The poolside area including in and around the snack bar were very slippery. The rubber matting that was place around the pool edge and over the bridge wasn't enough. As soon as you stepped off this matting, it was possible to slip. The standing water wasn't brushed away as often as it should have been and this resulted in many slips from people of differing ages. Something needs to be changed as we think that there is a more serious accident waiting to happen especially with kids running around. Leading up to the slides is also not covered by these mats so again, especially kids running up the steps are at risk. As for the safety in the pool, this is completely regarding the exit area from the slides. The slides are really good and blue one is deceptively fast so watch out but this is where the safety is a concern for me. Most people waited for the person before them to come off the slide before they get on which is fine as if you go down normally you exit the slide a couple of feet away and have plenty of time to move but the danger comes from the blue side and how people vary the way they go down it. As there is no life guard, many kids were flying down the slide on air beds and this meant that instead of landing in the water a few feet from the end of the slide, the exit double and this is where the danger is. People (including young children) who are using the slides can see where people lands normally and swim out of this area but as soon as someone comes down on an airbed, people's safety, more so kids, are at risk. There was a manager walking around now and again trying to stop people but he was only there for a matter of minutes a few times a day. Having said this, if the slides are used properly they are great fun for all ages and are a bonus. The pool itself is nice and big enough for all too use. When we were there, airbeds were an issue and we had to go down early in the morning to put towels on for later.

The entertainment team do try hard and are on the go all day. 'Ercan' was very pleasant and always spoke everyday morning or night which was nice. Our kids used the kids club and 'Missy' also did a good job entertaining them.

Jayni and Cenap are very good and if in any doubt speak to them and i'd advise you to ask them any questions prior to going to reception anyway as i didn't find the reception staff helpful and weren't the friendliest staff in the hotel.

The location of the hotel is also good. Only 10/15 mins into the busy Alanya on a bus. Also, only a few minutes walk to the hotel beach. Various shops underneath the hotel and a supermarket just around the corner.

During our stay, the numbers of english were small and guests were predominantly German, Russian and Turkish. Obviously people from different countries have different manners (if you know what i mean!) but don't let this spoil your holiday as we didn't.

Even though it may seem that i have listed a few negatives, these for us are the only ones and do not outweigh the positives and didn't spoil our holiday and we all had a great time even in the extreme heat!!!

The big question is would we go again???? Deep down i cant help think that we have had the best of the hotel with it being new and all the pluses from it being a new hotel, but before making a decision i will be interested to see reviews at the start of next summers season and if the reviews continue along the same lines, i'd go back.

Returned home 5 days ago after spending two weeks at the Diamond Hill Resort Hotel. The hotel has only been open a couple of months, and there are a couple of areas that aren't 100% yet - e.g. no bar in the indoor entertainment area + games room not open, although these could possibly be sorted by the time that I write this. Food great, clean, 24-hour lobby bar, friendly staff etc. Private beach is good. It's the stand-out hotel in the area - you really can't miss it, especially at night when the light show is on! Biggest down-point, as everybody mentions, is the lifts, but you do eventually get used to it! Here's a tip,.... use the service lift! We had a minor issue over the hotel not initially honouring our late check-out that had been part of our booking, but Jayni from Guest Relations sorted this out for us. Any problems at all, just go to Guest Relations, they really do bend over backwards to help you. I feel a bit mean not giving maximum stars but this primarily is down to the lack of entertainment and the games room not being open + the distance from Antalya airport (about 2.5 - 3 hours) so be prepared for this when you arrive.

Just got back from this beautiful hotel. Visited with my husband and 3 young children ages 5,3 &1. We had a really lovely stay at diamond hill. The hotel is brand new and very impressive. Special thanks to Jayni and Cenap, the guest relations team, Ibrahim the IT manager, Mevlut in the restaurant and Ercan and the mini-club ladies. Can't remember all the other names! Everyone was so welcoming and made us feel really special. The restaurant does fill up really quickly in the evenings. You have to be there on time or you'll have to wait a bit. The food is very good and a large variety to choose from. Everyone has talked about the elevator, luckily we we were on the 2nd floor. We still had to use the service lift a few times though.

We stayed at the diamond hill in July 2012 and have nothing but praise! The food was always varied, the rooms were beautifully furnished and clean and the animation made everyone feel welcome.

I would like to mention Alex the bar man who made us some fantastic cocktails during our stay.

Had a great time at this hotel but not sure it's 5 star but a good 4 star. Easy to get a sunbed in morning. Went with 3 teenagers and 4 adults, nothing for teenagers to do so very glad they had iPads! We were led to believe there was a games room but were disappointed it wasn't finished :(
Animation team were great but always tired, they sell disco tickets throughout the day (extra income) party into the early hours of the morning then have to be back at work with no sleep. Ravi was the best entertainer by far but he left during our stay : ( Need more games for teenagers as everything is for adults apart from mini disco.
Resturant, Bar and pool staff defiantly made our holiday, so many smiles and always keen to serve. Hasan, Evrin, shower boy, Tom cruise, dimple, adem, and many more including managers and security.
Food and drink was fine but could do with bar snacks eg nuts?
Lifts are very busy, we were on the 8th floor and walked up and down the stairs as lifts were chaos and hot.
A great holiday had by all and many great memories. Lots of positives for this hotel but also a few negatives. A holiday is what you make it and we had fun x

Room Tip: 815 Internet poor but has a good sea view and over looks pool
