“Surprisingly good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

The Red Tower in Alanya is distinctive on the outside and surprisingly enjoyable once inside. 2 cool and dark interior levels with information and artwork displays lead to the open upper level with pleasant views over Alanya. If you do not fancy walking up to the higher castle the views from this tower are well worth the admission fee.

“Interesting tower”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

In a town with poorly designed buildings, this tower is a reminder of the history in Alanya. It is from the 13th century and still up. It has been renovated on the top section, with no particular attention to matching the bew and old bricks. Going up the stairs is tough as the steps are in parts high. Once up on the top lf the tower, the view is very nice. Worth it! Do not expect the ticket seller to inform you on the history of the tower, as he seems to have little idea.

At night the tower is illuminated, and it is worth catching a glimpse of it as the sun is rising...

“Wonderfully cool interior”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

We visited the Kizil Kule/Red Tower after buying a combined ticket for 10 lira that got us entrance to the red tower, the Tersane shipyard next door and to Damlatas Cave by Cleopatra Beach.

The tower I believe was the watchtower for Alanya Kelesi Castle. It's quite small but so wonderfully cool after more than an hour exploring the shipyard (well worth a visit).

When you enter the tower you are in a circular room. There are various boards placed around with printed pictures and information and some models of ships.

The upper levels are reached via some steep stone steps but the views are stunning once you reach the open air top level.

“Nothing special”

Stopped there when visiting Alanya Castle. Dificult to find, and not worth stopping. Great panoramic view from Alanya castle so you can see this attraction also.

“Had a lovely view of the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2013

We stopped here at around mid-day, which made it a bit on the hot side, but otherwise it had great views and a bit of local art on the lower floors. It's not as comprehensively signposted and marketed as UK attractions, but we felt that this added to the charm - there were certainly fewer things obstructing our photos.
