I stayed in this hotel with my partner for a week at the end of June 2011, we are in our 30's and were looking for a cheap sunny getaway (from England).
HOTEL - 8/10 The hotel staff were friendly, very helpful and non-pushy. The sheets and towels were changed everyday and the rooms were cleaned everyday too. The hotel overall was very clean and tidy. You also get FREE air conditioning in every room. The pool was small (as lots are in Turkey), and sunbed space is limited, however the pool was never too busy and a lot of people go to the beach across the road. Drinks and bar snacks were served throughout the day by the pool.
FAMILIES - 6/10 We didn't take children (but do have them), but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families with small children (under 5 yrs) as facilities were limited. However it would serve as a clean and basic base for young families, if you don't plan on spending much time in the hotel itself (i.e. no evening or daytime entertainment, very small kids pool, not many other kids around).
Food was served from the roof terrace of the restaurant, which had great sea views and was very relaxed. However it did lack atmosphere, and was non-smoking. So most people ate and left.
BREAKFAST 8/10 - We stayed on a half-board basis, the breakfast was absolutely fine, with traditional Turkish breakfast served buffet style every morning (8am-10am), there was a cook there also who would cook eggs to order (omlettes, fried etc). I like the Turkish breakfast so was happy (meats, cheese, bread, tomatoes, cucumber), but you can also have cereals (which were not very nice), toast or freshly baked bread with a selection of jams/honey for example. Yoghurt and fruit were also available.
DINNER 7/10 - Dinner was served between 7pm and 10pm, it was buffet style but served a wide variety of fresh salads everyday (including fresh humous, taziki, coleslaw, olives, stuffed tomatoes, cous cous etc), some days they offered only one hot meat dish which I would say was a down point, they served a stew type dish one day which wasn't very appetising, so it was either salad and bread or eat out. The hotel would do well to make sure they offer at least two hot meat dishes a day. Dessert was Baklava, fruit or chocolate dessert everyday, which was disappointing as they weren't very good quality.
LOCATION - 9/10 Location of the hotel is great, just across the road from the beach and 10 mins walk to the centre of Alanya and 25 mins walk to the Harbour. You can also get buses directly opposite the hotel for 1.25tl (50p) or a Taxi for around 8tl (£3.50).
The hotel itself is surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants and you really don't have to go far to find somewhere to drink or eat.
Overall we had a really good stay with no problems, as others have mentioned some rooms face out towards the buildings next door which aren't very attractive. We asked to be moved as we had one of these rooms and without any fuss at all they booked us in for a room change at the next available day, so we at least had half the week with fantastic sea views overlooking the pool.
We met lots of lovely friendly people from all over Europe and found there were always English people around the pool in the day, as as well as German, Turkish, Sweedish etc.
TIP - Don't book excursions with the Rep (as nice as she is), you can get the exact same excursions with loads of agents all over Alanya at literally half the price (just haggle the price down)
