After 20 years I was in Alanya again in July 2011. What a change!!! No more simple and unobtrusive friendliness in holiday resorts. No more nice and pleasant restaurants, confectionery, friendly bazaar....
Everywhere just pushing ''all inclusive''. Either food or Turkish bath.
Well, the hotel is quite nice and friendly. Plus one of really few in the town with offering non all inclusive.
The room was nice and spacious. We didn't pay using the fridge. And we also don't have troubles with bringing water inside of hotel. Close is a supermarket and the stuff of the hotel is a kind of allergic on everything you buy there. So just put things in a non transparent bag (which of course you don't buy in the market but bring it with you!) and enjoy water, wine, biscuits :)
Big complains we had about the cleaning of the floor, otherwise the room was clean and stuff was friendly.
The beach is not far . You can also catch dolmus (local bus) or taxi on the other side of the hotel to spend some time in other places. Traveling with dolmus is comfortable and cheap.
I would suggest the hotel to people with not very high expectations. But for average expectations it is very comfortable and pleasant hotel.More
