“Delphin hotels just brilliant”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

We are family of four (1A + 2C 6 and 8 years) stayed for ten days end of May in the Diva after staying in the sister hotel Palace last year (which we loved hence booked on the strength of that stay). Diva is just as good as Palace with all the same facilities and great service. We were due to travel with another family who had to cancel just two days before due to a bereavement. The Delphin Diva hotel waived the cancellation charge so we cannot praise them enough for their understanding.

As with Palace we found the standard room for a family of four quite small (our 6 year old had a sofa bed) but nicely appointed, but the onsite facilities and service make up for this. We only use our room to sleep and shower!

The kids waterpark was great. Just the right size for children getting a little adventurous, there was a bigger one on other side if you want a real thrill!

Food was great with lots of choice. Breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice and cooked to order omlette was just heavenly :-) Great food to be had all day from the snack bar, donner, gozleme, ice cream and patisserie. Not to mention the lovely smiley staff on their rollerskates ready to take your drinks orders.

Lovely beach location with well kept golden sandy beach and a peir with a bar to enjoy our mojitos.

The hotel also provide a free bus to Antalya town, so we had a day out which was great.

Overall a brilliant holiday. Thank you Delphin Diva. Highly recommended.

This hotel, goes without saying is fantastic. The service is impeccable. I came here with my missus and enjoyed this place immensely. I was particularly attached to the pool. Never really wanted to leave. I will have to come go back there one day.

Having been to Lara Beach a couple of times before (at the Royal Wings, which we all loved) we decided to try ‘the Diva’ for a change – especially as it seemed to be offering the best value for money along the whole Lara Beach strip at the time we booked.

As has been said, chilled wine, soft drink and sweets available at a large round table as you enter the hotel. And then, as we began to check in, a waitress came over to us with four slushies to cool us down. Nice touch. The reception staff themselves were impeccable. Good English, polite, friendly and, most importantly, extremely helpful. We arrived at around 7pm, and the hotel had made a reservation for us at one of the a la carte restaurants if we wanted to eat there first night. You’re fitted with a wristband to confirm you’re a guest; there’s apparently a charge of €200 if you lose one, but even after a week of swimming, sliding, etc they showed no sign of wear and tear.

On arriving in our room, we realised we’d been upgraded to a family duplex (yay!). Really good room – two double beds on one floor with bathroom, TV, minibar, aircon and balcony. Good wardrobe & storage space. Upstairs was a further double bed, another tv, minibar, large wardrobe (with free safe), aircon, bathroom and balcony. The rooms were very clean – and, despite our best efforts to leave them a mess throughout our stay, were kept clean by very friendly & efficient maids who visited every day. We found both the rooms and the balconies to have more than enough room for 2 adults & 2 kids (10 & 6). The aircon was brilliant – there didn’t seem to be any restriction on setting the temp, and we could get the room temperature to feel distinctly cool when needed.

The hotel itself is full of charm. It’s set out around the main pool, with little shaded & quiet areas aplenty, both bordering the hotel and in the gardens. There’ll obviously be comparisons with its bigger sisters, especially with the Imperial next door but, after visiting the Imperial twice (you’re allowed to between 4pm and 6pm; we just used the beach entrance and took advantage of their better water slides), I really wouldn’t want to swap.

The pool was a bit chilly – but no more so than the Imperial or Royal Wings. I don’t think any of the Lara Beach hotels heat their outdoor pools, but I find the cooler water refreshing. All the activities & games take place in the main pool, at the end furthest from the hotel; the hotel end of the pool tends to be quieter (and slightly deeper at 1.4m as opposed to 1.2m). In addition to the main pool, there is a separate ‘quiet pool’ for adults and a heated indoor one. There’s two sets of water slides: one for bigger kids and adults; one for smaller children. Plus there’s a toddler area with large but shallow paddling pool. The pier is only a short walk under a shady arbour away, and has plenty of sunbeds as well as a bar with tables/chairs. The kids and I enjoyed jumping into the sea off the steps at the end. The bar opens quite late, and it’s beautiful to sit out there in the night air, with the waves gently lolling onto the shore.

Food is always a subjective thing. The main buffet-style restaurant is a bit too spread out for my liking and, despite an initial feeling of being overwhelmed with choice, there was a lot of repetition. Still, I found the quality good, and there are always little ‘food stations’ around the main kitchen bit where they will cook you something fresh in front of you with ingredients you get to pick, like fresh fish, baked potatoes, pasta or, at breakfast time, omelettes or waffles. All of us always found a plateful of food that we enjoyed. We only ate at one a la carte, the fish restaurant, and I thought it was nothing special but my missus thought it good. The snack bar (open until 3pm) was nice – like a condensed version of the evening buffet. There’s also a hut near the pool bar where you can make your own hot dogs or toasted sandwiches, one where you can get gozleme (the sugar ones were amazingly nice), one serving ice cream, and one serving kebabs between 12 and 2pm. Inside the hotel building there’s a patisserie serving cakes/mini-desserts, coffee and ice cream (tip – we found the ice cream in the patisserie much nicer than the ice cream served outside). There’s also a coffee house on the outside, which doubles up as a shisha bar on an evening. Oh, and next to this is yet another buffet option that opens late evening till dawn. There are loads of bars dotted around the place, and throughout the day one of the cheery staff pushes a cart around the pool, offering a good choice of chilled drinks. And then there are the amazing rollerblading waiters/waitresses, who will always take your order and bring your drinks pronto.

Undoubtedly, the best asset of the hotel is its staff. I’ve mentioned the excellent reception staff, and these give a great first impression, but there is a similar standard of customer service throughout the hotel. The bar staff, waiters/waitresses, entertainment team, restaurant staff, food hut staff, maids, guest relations – all of them were cheerful, helpful & polite. None ever made you feel like you’d imposed on them, and would serve you with a smile. Some struggled with English, but most were fine, and we could always make ourselves understood. They are an absolute credit to the hotel, and a cut above any set of staff I’ve encountered throughout years of holidaying around the world. You’re just made to feel so welcome. A really special holiday all round

When we next travel to Turkey, this will definitely be our hotel choice.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Delphin Diva. Travelled as a family with 2 children (7 and 10). First time at the Diva but we've stayed at the Delphin Palace for the last 5 years. Slight differences in the layout of the hotel and the grounds but virtually all the same facilities/food/drink available. The choice of food was exceptional, both in the restaurants and the various food huts/stations spread out across the hotels grounds at various times of the day. Waffles, kebabs, jacket potatoes, chicken wings to name a few (make sure you have a good look around otherwise you might not find everything on offer !). Ice cream available all day. Excellent choice of drinks. Bottles of Becks available in the lobby bar but you need to ask for Becks otherwise you will be given draught Efes beer. Other branded drinks on offer at some bars include Beefeater Gin and Malibu. There were others as well. A la Cartes were good. Ignore previous reviews about only being able to book one a la carte a week unless you paid. You are able to book each a la carte once a week free of charge. We ate once at the Mexican and Turkish and twice at the Chinese and Italian during our stay. Someone did say the French a la carte had a surcharge but we never tried to book it so I cant confirm this. Waterslides were great, kids area was good. The kids waterslides were a lot better than those at the Delphin Palace. Entertainment was good, professional shows, Moscow Kids circus, Chinese Acrobats etc all well worth watching and better than anything you see on Britains Got Talent. Funfair was good, candy floss and popcorn for kids whilst it was on in the evening. Pool area wasn't cleaned as good as at the Delphin Palace. Majority of guests were German but the staff paid equal attention to English guests. We really enjoyed our stay and I doubt whether any other hotel in the area would match this for quality. There is no real difference between the Diva and the Palace other than the Diva is smaller and seemed to have a more personal touch to it. If you cant decide whether to stay at the Diva or Palace I would just go for the cheapest.
Any questions please feel free to message me.

Just got back from a week at this wonderful hotel. We went as a group of 11, including my 2 yr old twins and my 10 and 4 year old nieces. The food was lush! The best meal by far was the fresh fish. They have a counter and you pick which fish you want and they cook it in front of you as a wait. Delicious. The breakfasts are to die for. Omelettes, waffles, pancakes and loads of fresh fruit. Prepare to put on a stone in weight!!

At about 11.30am a cart goes round the pool with rice and ayran ( a local yogurt drink). My twins and nieces would devour two bowls full of this everyday. Then they would sleep and we could have a relaxed lunch in the buffet bar.

The entertainment team were great and not pushy at all. Gamze on the entertainment team is lovely. Sevim who cleaned my room was adorable. Semih one of the waiters was brilliant too.

The waiters and waitresses on roller blades round the pool were brilliant.

We usually go to Turkey every couple of years together as a big family group. Mostly due ton the amazing food in Turkey! We've been to Royal Wings, The Concorde and now Delphin Diva. All were as good as each other.

I've no idea why some commentators are saying the staff are not friendly?? They were brilliant. They loved the kids and were always playing with them.

The lobby cake and coffee shop had awesome staff too.

The hotel is spotless. they have cleaners working round the clock.

We had a very late flight. The reception staff arranged for us to have a big family room to shower in until 8pm. This was all free of charge and offered to us.

We hope to be back one day!!

Room Tip: We had a family room. Which was adequate for a couple with preschoolers. But any bigger kids may str...

Have just returned from a week at this lovely hotel, our second visit to the Lara Beach area, our first was staying at Limak lara and to be honest I didn't think this could better that but I was wrong. This hotel is fabulous. On arrival (early hours of morning) we were handed a lovely iced drink, we're quickly checked in and were upgraded to a two story room with three double beds and two bathrooms. Ok, it faced the road rather than the sea and the room was average, probably not 5* quality but it didn't matter as everything else from that point on was perfect. I understand that some of the rooms have been refurbished and obviously ours wasn't one of those but it was functional, clean and spacious. Being a really fussy eater, I always worry that I will not like the food but trust me when I say there is so much variety that there will always be something you'll like. Food was very good quality and always hot. The staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally friendly and we never had a problem conversing with anyone. The hotel and grounds throughout are immaculate and they obviously have a very conscientious maintenance team. The animation team are friendly and fun but never pushy. Nothing seems to be too much trouble in this hotel, we were there in half term week but it never felt crowded and you could always find beds on the beach or around the pool. It had a very personal feel to this hotel and I cannot recommend it enough. I have never visited the same hotel twice but we WILL most definitely be back.

This hotel came highly recommended by a friend and we weren't disappointed! after reading some of the more recent reviews before I went I was a little nervous, but we had the most wonderful week and didn't want to come home! The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. We found that saying hello, goodbye, please and thank you in Turkish went down a storm with the staff. I did hear a few families saying that the standard family room were a bit of a squeeze but no such problems for us as we had the Duplex room which I think is well worth the extra to book as you also get a second bathroom. We ate every night in the outdoor part of the restaurant where they are constantly cooking fresh food, both my children are fussy eaters but had no problem finding plenty to eat and as for the desserts, ice cream and chocolate fountains, well all I can say is yum yum! We have already priced up going back next year and rarely visit somewhere twice!!!

Room Tip: if your a family with children over 8 I would definitely book the duplex room, there are two double...
