Everything in this hotel was very good, we enjoyed our stay for 6 nights and the kids enjoyed the swimming pool. the beds were comfortable, the street was quiet at night far from noisy pubs and restaurants. the breakfast was open-buffet, about 12 items.
Internet was good.
You can reach the hotel easily walking through Hadrian's gate, first street to the right where you can see Grand erken hotel sign and you will find Urcu hotel in the same street.
Mr Turam in the reception was friendly and ready to help you regarding city trip and attractions and how to travel.
Room safe was a little bit small and outside the room, near the reception desk.
Sefa Hammam is just 25 meters from the hotel, as well as Attaturk street where a lot of restaurants can be found there.

Room Tip: We chose room no. 25 which was quiet and comfortable. Ask for the refrig. Ask for cleaning and m...

I visited this hotel after 3 years again .. Ibrahim - accommodation operator made several improvements in terms of facilities in the interior and exterior to sweeten a stay more pleasant way. I consider the selection of employees very well, they are trying to accommodate all wishes and needs of every individual guest . Even the kitten makes you a sweet company, while relaxing by the pool.
In case you stay in rooms with orientation at the street you can count on noise from a neighboring street, where renovations are taking place.
Suggestion:warmer water in the bathroom, especially in this time would improve the comfort of stay even more...

Room Tip: I recommend a room with the pool view

A warm welcome and splendid rooms, friendly and helpful staff provided exceptional service including two very early breakfasts. Right in the middle of the Old Town. A clean and good sized pool added to the pleasure of or stay, will return at some time, possibly when a little cooler!!

Room Tip: They are all very nice!

I have been traveling a lot in the last 6 months through the Balkans, Europe and Asia, and every so often I come across a hotel that is off the beaten path, quaint, reasonably priced, beautiful in every way, and just wonderful. The Urcu hotel was not one of these places. In fact, this was the worst stay in the last 6 months of traveling 19 countries.

This hotel is a dive, a “one star” hotel on a good day. The outside looks great, but the inside is not. The carpet looks as if it has been there since Ottoman times, the furniture is cheap and eclectic—“simple” furnishing is an overstatement and euphemistic description. The A/C blew mostly warm air—no fun in the hot summer day and night with high humidity. There was no hot water in our room nor for our traveling companions.

While the staff did try to be friendly and helpful, they came across more as overworked and irritable. Breakfast consisted of a bland “continental” / Turkish breakfast with no meat, no coffee (only Nescafe), taken in a “garden” with an astroturf–like surface laid on the ground--ghetto.

From the time we arrived, they asked us if we wanted to pay at that moment, and when I declined, I was continually asked (and my wife) until the time I checked out and paid. They acted as if the money was already spent, and needed it for operating costs. When we checked out early due to a change in plans, the owner raised his voice, demanding to know why we were leaving early. Quite unprofessional.

The only redeeming part of this hotel is the location, right in the heart of the old city and near everything. This is a low-budget hotel that charges for the location, but is not worth it.

Our family of 2 adults + 2 kids stayed here for a few nights. Frendly service, quiet, good value for money. Pretty basic equipment in the rooms and a little work on the details wouldn't hurt (inside door of the room got stuck, air-conditioning didn't work, plastic lawn in the garden). No fridges in the room, but the manager brought one to our room for the kids' stuff. It didn't work, though, but I'll give credit for the effort anyway.

Nice swimming pool and good location in the old city if you're driving, as the hotel is close to the entrance to the old city and a parking is just around the corner.

Room Tip: Check whether the AC works.

The hotel is situated in an area steeped in history dating to 120BC; quaint bars and cobbled streets you feel as if you are walking in the foot steps of Romans.

The Hotel itself is an old chateau in keeping with beautiful local architecture the rooms are large and clean with cable television air conditioning and en suite shower and toilet.

Staff at the hotel are capable in many European languages so are very helpful and kind which makes for a good family enviroment.

The Hotel URCU overall is great place to stay if you are on a budget or just looking for a respectful comforting Holiday.

Dont expect something like a classic authentic old town hotel. Urcu is outdated pension, furnished with cheap pieces. This hotel is also very expensive, if you take price & quality parity into consideration, compared to the other hotels in oldtown
