“Delightful surprise in the old city”
Reviewed 7 September 2012

Tucked away in a quiet side street is the grand house of the hotel. The service is friendly and excellent, super clean, the pool refreshing and just generally a really nice place To stay. Yes the rooms aren't huge, but why would you spend all your time in a room when you have that gorgeous garden?

What a treasure this little inn is. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed, the outside patio is lovely (breakfasts are lovely), and the pool is a welcome haven to relax in. Perfect for strolling through the old town at night, and not too far from the beaches. The staff was friendly and helpful. We have excellent memories of this wonderful find.

We spent 4 days at this beautifully decorated boutique hotel. The stay was marred by extremely small rooms that promise a sea view. Our view had an ugly block of flats directly out our window and the room was not big enough for 2 backpacks and 2 people . Tripping over our bags to get to bathroom. The staff were helpful but were impersonal.... something we had not experienced inTurkey. They have a pool but no where to dry your costumes.. The bathrooms were tiny too!
we also had ugly experience with the night person who wanted to give us a gift for our children. we thought this was sweet but then two nights later he was hassling us to pay for the gifts, Did not appreciate this Just put a sour taste in our mouth! We left the so called gifts behind...Unfortunately cannot recommend except for the great position .Also the wifi was virtually no good ..It kept dropping out and could not access this from our rooms. had to sit with the staff which really gave you little privacy.

This delightfully decorated boutique hotel in old Antalya city turned out to be a bit of disappointment really...rooms were cramped hardly enough room to have two pieces of luggage and the sea view was dominated by a big ugly block of flats!
The rooms were advertised as having wifi access however you literally had to sit on topof the computer downstairs in reception and wave your iPad around to get access... Irritating when you are trying to plan your itinery at night or ommunicate with loved ones back home (access kept dropping out).
The staff seemed very disinterested although did seem to improve their attitude over the 4 day stay!We were given a gift supposedly by the the night porter only o have him hassles us to pay for the gift 2 days later...we left the gift behind! This has been an atypical Turkish experience for us and really put a damper near on our five week trip in turkey !

Room Tip: Wouldn't stay here again or recommend despite its appealing design.rooms far to cramped for two...

We fell in love with Antalya, and Deja Vu played a big part in that. We were warmly welcomed on our first night. The manager of the hotel is extremely attentive and helpful, he also speaks excellent English, and other languages. The hotel's philosophy is that you are a guest , not a customer and also that you arrive as a guest, but leave as a friend. We genuinely did get that feeling. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and there is no strict regime, nothing is a problem. We loved the fact of being told "breakfast is served from 7.30 until you get up." Our room, and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. There is a beautiful courtyard area where you can eat, or just sit and relax. The swimming pool was small, but again clean, well maintained and it was a much appreciated haven from the high 30's heat of the day. Our room was on the small side, which was a slight disappointment. That said, we soon got used to it, and after all it's somewhere to sleep, not live.. The bathroom was excellent, nicely furnished main room and the air con was a life saver.

The hotel is nicely situated. Ten minute walk to the private beach (10TL fee) at Mermeli. Other beach at Konyaalti is 30-40 min walk, but only takes 5 mins or so on the tram. Great to just take a day to explore the labyrinth of narrow streets in Kaleici.

Our only gripe about the hotel, is not actually the hotel's fault. Kaleici (old town) is a beautiful place, full of history and charm (our reason for staying there). For some completely insane reason, the authorities have allowed night clubs to exist there. As a result, we had to endure music until past 4a.m most mornings (got immune to it after a few days). There is a curfew of 1am for music, which appears to be ignored by one or two places. The manager of the hotel has, and still is campaigning to get this issue sorted out.
I hope he has success with this because Kaleici does not need nightclubs, it is totally not the vibe of the place. Having got to know the manager during our stay, I'm sure he will persist until this is resolved.

All in all, we would thoroughly recommend Deja Vu. We cannot wait to return

We picked this hotel, despite being slightly more expensive than comparable hotels in Kaleici (old town), because of the rave reviews and Trip Advisor awards bestowed upon it. The hotel, while really good, did not live up to our expectations, and we will stay at a less expensive hotel if we return to Antalya in the future.

We booked a double room, expecting a king bed (we're on our honeymoon), but when we arrived, we were given a double with two single beds. The hotel was able to move us to a room with a king bed beginning our second night, but we had to spend the first night in single beds on wheels, which moved apart when either my husband or I would shift in our sleep. Needless to say, it was less than comfortable that first night. Furthermore, the room was VERY small, with minimal space to maneuver. The room with the king bed was only slightly bigger, but we still had to hop over our bags to get from the bed to the bathroom. Perhaps the most disconcerting part of this experience was the way in which we were transitioned from one room to the other. We were not able to move to the king bed room in the morning of our second day, since it had to be cleaned - totally normal and expected. We asked where we should leave our bags in the interim (usually there's a luggage room or some such), and the front desk said to leave it in the old room. We figured that meant no one was checking into it - not the case! When we returned to the hotel around 6 pm, the front desk was in a tizzy, asking for our key immediately upon our return. It turns out the old room WAS booked and was already occupied. The hotel had packed our bags and moved them to our new room without informing us (or the new guests staying in our old room, who were moved in without a key or an explanation). We still had our passports and money in the safe, however, so I went upstairs to retrieve them, only to discover I was barging into the new guests' room! The guests were really nice and welcomed me into their room (after I explained why I unceremoniously broke in), and all was well once our valuables were retrieved and the key passed on. All of our things were accounted for - nothing missing, nothing taken, no problems - but it was still a disconcerting experience and could have (and should have) been handled much better.

The staff were really nice and friendly, but only one person spoke really good English, and overall the staff recommendations were inconsistent and vague. For example, we asked three different staff members how to get to the airport without taking a taxi, and we got three completely different answers (which, it turns out, were all partially correct and, when fit together like pieces of a puzzle, painted a full picture). One said take the 600 bus, one said go to the main street, and one said take the 600 bus from the main street. We finally went to the tourist office, which gave us a real map (the hotel map is ONLY of Kaleici) and showed us exactly WHERE to catch the 600 bus (believe it or not, "main street" doesn't help, although once you see it, you understand why they call it that). Furthermore, should you want to do anything outside of Kaleici other than an organized day trip, hotel staff are not able to help you. And really, they can't make make recommendations within Kaleici either. Case in point: we asked three staff members which of the three hammams in Kaleici they recommend. The answer (consistent from all three staff members): they don't know, having never been to any of them, but guests seemed pleased with all of them. We also asked for restaurant recommendations outside of Kaleici and were vaguely told to go to the clock tower (granted there are many restaurants there, but we were not given any more specifics other than that, and we really had to pull teeth to even get that much information).

The courtyard is lovely, and the hotel itself is beautifully decorated and furnished. The pool was very clean and nice. Breakfast was quite good - there were dried and fresh fruits, vegetables, scrambled and hard-boiled eggs (get there early, because they don't refill), breads, pastries, jams, cereal, cheeses, coffee, tea, and juice - and it was charming to eat in the courtyard. There is free wireless Internet, but it ONLY works in the lobby. They offer dinner, too, but it's really expensive, so we passed.

The hotel is in a great location in the middle of Kaleici, but it is almost 2 miles to the archaeological museum (EXCELLENT) and Konaalti beach - a 30 minute walk or tram ride.

Be aware that there are two cats in the hotel - actually inside the building, not just in the courtyard - not mentioned in the website at all. The cats have NO problem following you inside your room; we had to block the entrance a couple of times when going in, and another guest we spoke to ended up sleeping with one of them (to her great pleasure). Not cat lovers ourselves, this was a less than pleasant surprise.

Overall, we were really disappointed. But then again, we had extremely high expectations given the other reviews on this website. We would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Be sure to specify what kind of bed situation you would like! Even if the description implies a king...

This is the second time we have stayed here. Beautifully decorated, comfy beds and very attentative staff. The owner is always to hand to help you with any queries. Only downside Wifi is very intermittent but then you are supposed to be on holiday, right?

Room Tip: No bad rooms. All rooms are of equal quality.
