Owner description: The old city of Antalya contains many of the city's historic sites. Renovations to the marina and waterfront have added several hotels, restaurants and shops, making this a popular tourist destination.

It is impossible to visit Antalya and not go to Kaleici and when you have visited you will be glad you did. There is a degree of touting but it is bearable and also the banter you can have with the stall holders etc is good fun. There is much work to be done but so many of the building have been beautifully restored and many cafes and bars exist that you should visit. If you can stay there you will be pleased because everything is at your fingertips.

This beautiful area, small enough to walk about in an hour, contains most of Antalya's sights (Hadrian's Gate, the "twisted mineret and old mosque, small hotels, shops and restaurants). Old Ottoman homes are being gentrified. The view of the mountains from the cafes overlooking the harbor at sunset is unforgetable.

As long as you enjoy quite steep roads / paths then it's a nice place to wander around.
If the weather gets too hot then you have to stop in one of the many hotels / bars for a cheap drink. The first place we walked into was fantastic and the chilled atmosphere was brilliant.
The vendors weren't pushy either which surprised me.
All in all a good place to visit and the harbour was very nice as well (don't book an excursion but go and see what prices they offer. We saw 25 Euro trips through a tour guide and the same trip for 10 TL when booked in person!)

The quaint road side cafes, the old cobbled streets and the view of marina simply is stunning. This place is not about seeing, its about experiencing it - It has the nice old roman charm.

Very interesting old quarter (we've stayed in quite a few around the Med). Old Turkish bathhouse was good.
