It was very easy to access Kaleici with bus and tramway. All lines go through this area. the access is mainly on foot and few cars are allowed in there.
A one time visit is not enough to enjoy Kaleici in its whole! We returned there 2 times. Lots of restaurant with a variety of turkish menus are available so it is really possible to stay all day there. Some old shops are worth the visit for their historic value. Several were old hammams or houses or shops. They are beautiful and well restaured.
We really enjoyed the umbrella street, and the park with a view on the marina. The old bazar is not the kind of attraction I liked the most. It is a souk like many still existing in any old arab city. We visited an old church converted to a mosque and found a St Paul church! You will never know what you will find next and that's what makes wandering in the streets of Kaleici so special.
We left without seeing several attractions, Kaleici being bigger than we thought. If you have limited time to spend in Antalya, try to book a hotel in Kaleici. Some are really amazing.
While shopping bear in mind you have to bargain a lot for souvenirs, prices vary from shop to shop and things are overpriced. If you have time, compare before buying to make sure you don't overpay. If you want to rent a car, you can find lots of rentals available there and prices are cheaper than on the net. I recommend "DK rent a car" who has the best prices (we checked several rentals) and gave us the car on the spot.
