“Great hotel”
Reviewed 25 October 2013 via mobile

Exotic, traditional styling in our room and the public areas. There is a small and lovely pool. Breakfast is fantastic: a Turkish breakfast however, so be prepared for olives, cheese, boiled eggs, cucumbers and tomatoes with traditional simit type breads.
Friendly staff and pretty tame feral cats all over the courtyard. (The cats are everywhere here). Location is close to the touristy old town, and a few minutes from the bustling street life on the Kapalı Yol where great street food can be found in the evenings. There is a small and very nice beach Mermerli Beach a 10 minute walk away (entry is 11TL).

Front desk staff gave pretty much blank stares when I asked where we could find some specialty Turkish food (kazandibi, tavuk gögsülü tatlı, sigara böreği) but we could cope.

I've traveled the world a lot, and i don't like hotels with an anonymous, corporate feel. Considering the combination of cultural experience, ideal location, pleasant comfort, friendliness and value, this is the single best hotel where I've ever stayed.

The room we had was a good size but the furniture wasn't to our taste. The bathroom is another story. The bath was badly scratched and the plug didn't work so the water drained out half way through. however everything was clean.I do agree with other people's comment that rooms need to be updated to be a 5 star hotel.
The restaurant was nice, but we didn't eat there, we only had a drink. Looking at the menu we found it expensive so would hope that the food would come up to expectations. We plan to test it out on our next visit.
The location was good and didn't suffer from noise at night at this time of year.
.We will definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Antalya.

I've just read a review that described the rooms of the main building as poor and rundown. In fact that are 4 buildings and they have different rooms. Though all the compact complex of buildings is very harmonious and charming. I stayed in the building of the Seraser restaurant what was an upgrade. The room is not spectacular, but very nice. The pool is beautiful, but I don't think it counts much for people going to Antalya. The breakfast buffet is very good, only bad thing is the artificial juices. The restaurant is not very expensive comparing to others like some people said here, and much better. The main courses were about 20-25 USD.

After reading other reviews, I'm not sure why our rooms were actually the least attractive of all the places we stayed on our 15 day excursion to Turkey. We were in a private group of 7 adults with 3 rooms in the main building. All of us were disappointed in the Turvana. The rooms needed painting, no blankets provided, air conditioning didn't work properly (thus the need for blankets), service from front desk mediocre.... Instead of feeling luxurious and elegant-it felt oldish and run down. The restaurant is lovely as described, though it is very expensive.

We had a great stay at the hotel. The hotel is located on a quiet alley in the old town, although at night you could hear music from nearby club. The room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was in a pretty room with a nice variety offered. Pool is really nice too.
Although the staff was helpful, the one negative I had was when we asked for directions to a restaurant we wanted to go to for dinner. The desk person responded by saying they would prefer if we would eat at the hotel (very expensive). He did give me directions, but it was really uncomfortable.

Room Tip: We did not stay in rooms by breakfast room, but I would think they would be noisy.

Tuvana Hotel is comprised of several buildings joined together in Kaleici, the old town of Antalya. The location is perfect for exploring this interesting city. Each room in the hotel is different, but all are decorated in a post-Ottoman style that is luxurious yet comfortable. There is a small pool next to the outdoor cafe. Breakfast is revved each morning in one of the other buildings, with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Breakfast selections are many, and delicious. Freshly squeezed OJ is available as a paid option. There is also a separate fine dining restaurant, which also includes a several room on the upper floor! The staff at Tuvana is superb -- my reservation request for a quiet room with a view was delivered in a third floor room with a private terrace looking out over the rooftops of Kaleici. An excellent choice, highly recommended!

I have stayed in many beautiful hotels around the world, but I have to say without a doubt, Tuvana is one of my favorites! Charming, cozy, elegant and unique are the first words that come to mind when remembering my stay there. The staff was friendly and helpful with our every need, from organizing guided tours to acquiring the tickets for the best shows at night. The restaurant was very good and the most impressive thing of all (for me) was great hospitality. I had mentioned that my daughter was gluten intolerant and as they presented us a gluten free breads at breakfast. The look on her face was priceless for me and it is this kind of attention to detail that will make me return to Tuvana on my next trip to Antalya.
