“Hidden In An Alleyway”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

I stayed here a couple night as part of an Overseas Adventure Travel "land package" tour of Turkey. The things I remember; it was a quaint hotel in multiple buildings in an alley that the bus couldn't get to. It was a short walk from a town plaza, they ferried in luggage in by taxi. We were on the 3rd floors and no elevator. The water pressure in the bathroom was "world class". There was a lot to see/do as well as places to eat around the town well within walking distance. The complimentary WiFi didn't work in our room, but did work in the lobby. The breakfast was only fair, It was a typical Turkish that included; hard boiled eggs, bologna/small hot dogs, slices of cheese, tomato wedges, olives (green and black), cucumber slices and lot's of bread w/butter/jelly/honey/Nutella packets. There was also coffee, tea, juice, and water.

The hotel is spread across a couple of buildings. I stayed in a room above their restaurant. It was authentic, yet featured all the necessary items for a lovely stay - comfortable bed, good shower, great location, and a/c. A wonderful hotel for a reasonable price.

We enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel, which is well located in the old city on Antalya. The hotel is set across several different buildings, our room being located in the area above the restaurant in building three. The downside to this was you had to walk through the restaurant on each occasion you left or returned to your room. The room itself wasn't as large as we expected, and was comfortable enough, perhaps to a 3.5 star level. I found it odd that the hotel would not provide use of an ironing board and iron, citing "fire danger" and instead required you to use their external laundry service for pressing of clothes. This of course meant you had to wait a day for items to be returned and incur the costs of doing so, not ideal.

Overall staff were very friendly and helpful, the included breakfast was good and location was also good. The best thing about the hotel was Saraser restaurant. Food was good, if you go try the Turkish coffee crème brulee or dessert - sublime!

We've just returned from Antalya, spent Easter there. The hotel is run by the owner of the 3 mansions combined. They are new generations and they've respected family history a lot. Our room was superior ( I've seen standard it's Ok also) Every day they have left fresh fruit, made decorations on our bed. These were very nice gestures. Their breakfast could be better, but they have 2 fabulous restaurants ( Seraser and Il Vicino ); we've tried both and enjoyed our meals a lot. Do reserve before , because they are very full. If you area hotel customer you have 10 % off. It's in the historical castle area, so you can wander around historicall streets and reach port easily. I will definitely stay in the same hotel next time as well.

Room Tip: Reserve a superior room, it's worth it.

I paid only US$95 per night, which is a decent price. But the hotel is overrated on tripadvisor.

Breakfast is just OK. Breakfast area is also just OK.
Location is excellent.
Staff Friendly.
You have to check the rooms before settling in. Rooms in the reception building are the worst. I stayed in the room facing the swiming pool. It was horrible. All beds in the hotel are uncomfortable and small. After one night I moved to the a room in the Saraser resturant building which is much nicer. But rooms here are also small. But much much better than the Swiming pool building.

Saraser resturant is one of the best in the area.

Hotel is located at a very nice and convenient location with access to all historical places, marina and the shopping area.

A good hotel, but does not deserve to be the number 1 tripadvisor hotel.

Lovely antique hotel with modernised bedrooms and elegant, beautiful public areas and gardens. We took advice from Tripadvisor and got 3rd floor rooms in main reception building. No lift so got lots of exercise! One room with balcony overlooking pool and one "suite" with sitting room with mountain/sea views. Beds VERY hard, but otherwise delightful rooms. Good breakfast in interesting room. Didn't eat in main restaurant - too international with insufficient Turkish options (plenty of lovely places to eat in old Antalya). Old Antalya is noisy, not just mosques which you expect, but weddings, discos & other celebrations into the early hours of the morning, so don't stay here if you need peace & quiet at night... Disappointed that a hotel of this calibre was unable, with 24-hours notice, to produce any sort of picnic for a day at a historic site. Also difficult to get drinks served in the garden. Service was good, but not exceptional. Car parking provided is brilliant, but highly stressful to find and involves a 200m dash the wrong way down a one-way street - be warned!

Room Tip: Followed previous advice & had rooms in main reception building 3rd floor.

We stayed here for a consulting trip and had an absolutely fabulous time. It feels like you are living in an old mansion and sharing the experience with others. Our rooms each had a balcony overlooking the old city and, holy smokes, the Mediterranean. We were there in March and April (2.5 weeks there!) so we didn't use the pool but it looked gorgeous.

The main restaurant was fantastic and the live music was great. Breakfast was hearty and constantly refreshed. We had our dinners at the side restaurant (the one without the glass front) and it was so-so, mostly because we had it 17 straight nights. They only have about 4 meals on rotation, but it is traditional Turkish food with soups, cold veggies, and some meat dish. If you do not like dill, make sure to skip this restaurant.

The staff we had were exceptional and tried to help with everything from food options, to sight-seeing trips (paragliding 3 hours away, for instance), to night life for a bunch of 30 year old American guys (that was a stretch). The only weird thing was that each day the number of towels and pillows we had in our room changed. More comedy than tragedy, though.

A few things to consider: the rooms are mostly small and the walls are THIN. You can hear everything in your house, including other families with kids. People like the place quiet past 1030PM. You are at the epicenter of 3 dueling mosques for call to prayer. At 5 AM it feels like you picked up the phone and they are screaming in your ear type call to prayer. You are close to the heart of the old city but the more raucous nightlife is out near the big hotels on Antalya's "wings." We found a few places to have a quiet beer but most places aren't friendly to Westerners in terms of putting up with no Turkish. I don't blame them.
Finally, remember Chef Dill in the restaurant. Beware Chef Dill.

Room Tip: Third floor so you don't listen to the others going up stairs and you get the views!
