“Old City Style”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013

The Aspen Hotel is tucked away in a great location in Antalya's Old City, a short walk up to Karaalioğlu Park, views of the sea, and shopping on Ataturk Cd. Our room was small but cozy, with a nice window seat. The small courtyard pool was good to relax in. Food (both breakfast and dinner) was adequate but unremarkable. Reasonable laundry service: 30 lira (about $15) for a big bag of clothing. Overall a convenient base for exploring Antalya, but not a standout hotel.

Staff really friendly and helpful, would recommend this hotel if you want peace and to chill out, not far from all facilities. Reception staff are very helpful and can advise you on where to go and what to do. In the restaurant the staff cannot do enough to help you, each night we have had a different type of soup which was intriguing. Meals can be taken either in the restaurant or by the pool. Rooms are slightly small but very clean. Pool is adequate for a quick dip but we used the nearby beach and used it afterwards

We stayed here when my partner was pregnant with our first child. The location is great, a short stroll from the harbour in the old town. The hotel is set up with reception, bar and dining areas separated by a charming shaded and well planted garden. There is also a pool which can get very busy and loungers/seats are limited. The staff were helpful, if not over friendly. The buffet food was average, we only had B&B and i'm glad we didn't go full/half board as I think we would have been disappointed looking at what was on offer. Overall we we very happy with our stay and I would definitely return if the price was right.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the courtyard are much nicer/quieter.

Hotel Aspen is in the old city, away from the crowds. The common spaces are warm and charming, and the grounds are lovely. Our room, however was spare and uninviting. It's decoration didn't seem to match the rest of the place. The bed was comfortable, lighting was OK, but the towels were thin and scratchy. Food was good and staff were helpful.

The Aspen Hotel in old town Antalya is in a great location away from the crowds. Our room was large and spacious. The grounds of the hotel are old world beautiful, the second floor common area / library a wonderfully comfortable place to sip your wine or raki and catch up on the day's events, and the pool area equally enjoyable. On the down side, our room was poorly lit and bad for reading in bed, my pillow lumpy, and the buffet, while acceptable, is not memorable. A fellow traveller tried to charge his iPad while out during the day, but even the outlets are controlled by a key, thus his attempt was stymied. This is a pleasant hotel. Our room with three single beds over the pool area may just not have been the best choice.

Room Tip: The upper level rooms maybe more modern with better lighting and a bit quieter.

I did not find the hospitality that other reviewers have raved about. Rather I found the staff to be disinterested. The hotel is old and charming, but the rooms small and the bathrooms even smaller. The towels are tatty and the bathroom could do with a good scrub but the AC worked which was good as it was very hot when we were there. The wi-fi only worked in the reception area. There is a lovely courtyard in the middle of the hotel. It is located in the old part of the town, on the edge of the shopping district. There are many nice restaurants in the area and nearby you can pay a few lire to access a place to swim in the ocean.
Breakfast is supposed to be from 7.30 each morning but they were always 10-15 minutes late opening up. After 3 nights here my group of 24 people had to depart the hotel by 8am to catch a plane, it took much convincing for management to open the restaurant at 7,15am. The breakfast selection was nice with a different egg dish being offered each morning.

The layout of this hotel was particularly appealing to us. The room was comfortable, with an attractive window seat that overlooked a garden area, and the public areas were welcoming and well-designed. We especially liked the pool-side garden. The food was not first-rate, but there was plenty of choice and some of it was very good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would have liked to have wifi in our room, but at least it was readily available in the public spaces. Overall, this was a comfortable and very well-located hotel.
