“Its not what you think!!”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

i stayed her 30th mar - 7th April 2012

nice big hotel with nothing to do!!!

No rule and no security in the hotel makes it bad for little kids and people that want to relax -
Fights broke out on 4 nights in this hotel - with "non" guest (something to do with lybians and russians)
Men are perverts and have no respect -
Rugby ball thrown across the pool also hit elderly couple (real rugby ball)
People blasting a football into the pool and other guest -
as there is no security - it seems that people from outside come and take advantage of the free all inclusive -

the food was ok and was not much difference between day to day -
had people running around the hotel at 1-2am screaming and messing around!

the hotel spa was nice although over priced....
do your self a favour - research more.... saw much better hotels along the strip and all are closer to shopping and other bits!

If you book with thomas cook - do not do any activities untill you speak to them... they will tell you the going rate to pay!!

Room Tip: from room 3554 and along that side it pool view -

Nice hotel with great facilities. All staff apart from reception/customer service are friendly and helpful. The BIG PROBLEM is security. We had to escort 4 different parties of women back to their rooms as the foreign soldiers that are there(and there are a LOT) were pestering them and following them to their rooms. Kirsty from TC denied there was a problem, but then she was never there to see what was going on. 3 assaults against women while we were there.hotel management denied anything was wrong with security, but eventually after a "running battle" in reception involving 30-40 of the soldiers, the management called the police. There are a number of people walking in off the street or beach as there is no "wristband" system in place. Also the football teams, Lybians & Iranians all had their tables reserved in the dining room, leaving limited space for others . They are slow to clear tables, resulting in us struggling to get a clean table. There was a conference on during our stay, resulting in bars, restaurant and seating areas being swamped by approx 250 men! This wouldn't have been such a problem if the hotel had brought in enough staff to cope.THOMAS COOK SHOULD PULL OUT BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT.

Room Tip: Block 3 pool view

I have just arrived home from a week in the kremlin palace with my 12 year old daughter. On arrival we were given a room in an out building which had groups of men hanging around, we requested a room change as we felt very unsafe and were told to "go away" by the reception staff! I approached the information desk and asked them if they could please help me as the reception staff were extremely rude and unhelpful, the girls on the information desk were amazing and got us a room change immediately. The next morning i attempted to find a rep from Thomas Cook even called their emergency number on the notice board but got no answer! We arrived at this hotel on friday 30th March, we could not use the all-inclusive or the pool until Tuesday 3rd March due to the volume of men hanging around which made for a very uncomfortable holiday, my daughter would not let go of my hand and we could not get to any bar which was open to get a lemonade as the men would not let us as we were female. There was a feeling of danger and it was a horrible feeling to sleep with the cases behind the door and a chair to jam the balcony door to prevent any unwanted guests appearing in our room at night. The hotel is very grand in appearence but the rooms are worse than any cheap b&b you have ever seen, there was dust in the headboards which was so bad my daughter kept coughing, whilst using the hairdryer the pipe fell off and fell into the sink (electric still going) the tiles in the shower were smashed so if you touched them you would cut your hand open, the bedding was changed every day except on 4 of the 7 days they didnt put a base sheet on so it was just a very thin quilt and we had to call housekeeping to have sheets brought up. The food is pretty much what you would get in any all-inclusive throughout Turkey, edible and ok, plenty of choice. The entertainment team were very nice but the shows and activities were extremely limited. This was not our first time in Turkey and we would return to Lara Beach despite the isolated location as we travelled by bus into the old town which was lovey and a nice day out, the people were lovely we wernt pestered to buy things either which was great. However i would strongly recomend to anyone booking this hotel to firstly not use Thomas Cook, they were appauling, the reps were useles when you could track one down and there idea of a safe family hotel leaves alot to be desired! We travel at least 5 times a year and stay in gorgeous hotels (why we booked the kremlin palace) in pictures this hotel is amazing but in reality it is hurrendous. I have never written a review of a hotel before as i understand that we all have different oppinions on what we like. However i felt that i had to warn people about this place as i would hate for anyone else to suffer a week of hell like we did here, i have never complained about a hotel but for this place and Thomas Cook i am gobsmacked! When looking at this hotel you need to know that it is not like the pictures, it is not safe for women and children, children cant just play and be relaxed on holiday, the rooms are vile and the money you will spend booking this hotel will be better spent staying at a better hotel where you and your children will be safe. I was not interested in the reviews before travelling but please pay attention to them this not a hotel to go to!!!

Room Tip: Dont book this hotel it is Dangerous!!

I stayed at this hotel 7-14th march 2012 and to summarise had an awful time.....I was one of 4 females to be sexually assualted over 5 evenings, the hotel did not allow police to be called and the rep from thomas cook informed other guests she was unaware that such incidents were taking place although myself and others were putting in complaints. No security measures were being increased and my partner got physically assaulted twice by another member of the football team that the perpetrator played for.

This is low season so the hotel make there money by holding conferences and football tounaments, hence why these incidents occur. Some days you will struggle to get food, drinks etc.

The hotel itself is genarally, clean, well maintained and actually quite attractive.....and the fish spa is wonderful. In terms of food there is plenty of variety and you can be sure to find most things you like to eat. Entertainment is virtually non-existent apart from the disco in the sister hotel. Most facilities such as pools and dining options are closed in low season which is disappointing.
Hotel is situated in remote location but all is accesible by local transport for a cheap fair on the dalamus buses, barter your way to a bargain.
Turkey is beautiful but PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE, IT REALLY IS NOT SAFE!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Do not stay here full stop, unless you fancy a sexual assault!!!!!

I was very wary of staying here after reading the recent reviews, however i was pleasently suprised. The hotel is very grand and the rooms are a good size and clean. The food was tasty and plenty of choice unless of course your used to eating chips and junk food ! lol
The waiting staff are busy as its a large room and lots to clear to them but we had no shortage of service when we needed it and staff werwe polite and helpfull. Some people were complaining about the service but to be fair, they were rude and most likely were being avoided by the staff. which is what they deserved.
The hotel is worthy of its 4 star status, the place is clean and of reasonable standards., I think that those complaining possibly expect to be waitied on hand and foot and think themselves better than the locals? who knows. all i can say is that some of the english guests are shameful!
The rep was friendly but not the best ive met. she left on the 4th on our flight so maybe shes been re deployed?
There were a lot of footy teams there when we went, but they we no bother other than the food hall being busy, we didnt see or hear them.
The one complaint i have is that some of the forign guests were obsessed with taking pics of the children being blonde. i didnt like this and think that they should be informed that it is not acceptable.
the location of the hotel is remote but you know that when you book it. Also if you go out of season then the brochure clearly states that some things will not be open. We still fouind plenty to do and the kids were happy.

dont worry about going here, it is a lovely place and you will be well catered for.

Food
Luckily, by staying at the Kremlin Palace you have access to the hotel next door. The food was the same everyday (seemed to be chicken or beef stews and plain pasta with tomato sauce) ! Not great. All I ate was chips, my partner explored the other strange looking foods.

Drink
There’s a coffee bar where you can get cans of drinks and ice-cream which is pleasant. The alcoholic drink supplied is local produce. It doesn’t taste bad but the hangovers were awful. The wine is revolting, but spirits are fine. I wouldn’t recommend drinking in the Kremlin Palace as the service is slow because you can’t speak German/ Russian! There were a lot of football teams (and generally just Russian 65%, German 30% and 5% British people) practicing on site, a lot of men staring at English/Western any women in fact . We saw two Scottish women getting extremely stressed with two of the men/boys because they were following them. My boyfriend also saw this on three other occasions, men harassing, following and inviting themselves to sit on women's tables and would not allow me to walk anywhere on my own due to these incidents among others!

What to do?
They try and rip you off with loads of day tours. Don’t bother – you can basically do it yourself for free. For example – the waterfall – you can walk past for free!! Don’t get a taxi to town, get a bus. The LC34 (i think) goes from outside and costs about £1.50 for a single – worth it! If you can, try and print out a map before you go!! We took a bus into town and got lost for a long time! The beach isn’t what you’d imagine!! Not great sand, and even though there is a “marina” – no-one we spoke to ever saw it.

Shopping
Whatever price a Turkish person puts on an item, at least half your offer!! We picked up some fake Ugg boots for my little sister for about £12. There is a lot of fake stuff, just be sure not to pay too much.

Extra
There is a pool and gym, but due to the nature of the people staying at the hotel I didn’t feel comfortable swimming. One of the men was desperate to give massages etc and was very insistent and even stopped us on another day whilst we were on our way to dinner to ask why he had not seen us/me for massages yet! (a bit strange to say the least) My boyfriend used the gym – which doesn’t have the best facilities, but it’s still a gym so it’s fine. The TV has four English channels, none of which are very good any one is Russian dubbed in English – if I were to go again I’d just bring my laptop so I could watch things in the background when we spent time in the room.

All in all it was a very strange and surreal experience, i would not recommend any women to go anywhere near this place though!

Room Tip: Don't go on the bottom floor as there are strange men around!! Just don't go here......
