“Great Family Holiday”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

First time at a 5 star hotel in Turkey and was well impressed. Royal Wings Is a short coach drive from the airport. It is a great hotel for families. The hotel itself is spotless, we had a room on the 2nd floor with a side sea view, the mini bar stocked every day with beer, water and soft drinks.. The food was excellent, spoilt for choice, our 2 grand children loved it and there never was a problem getting a high chair. You get to use one of the 4 al a carte restaurants once a week or more for a charge of 12 euros pp. We went to the fish restaurant it was excellent ,sorry we didn't get to try the Asian one. The pools area's were great, especially the aqua park, the water slides ... great fun. No problem getting sun beds near the pool areas or on the beach. The staff all pleasant and friendly. Kids loved the funfair which opened a few hours every evening. Would also recommend the Turkish bath at the hotel Spa only money I spent the whole week . Would def go back.

Just returned from the royal wings and thought the hotel was lovely. We had all we needed and the food and services offered was excellent. However the staff was the reason this is rated at average as I found them both very rude and totally unhelpful.

Stayed here from 29/05/14 to 05/06/14 - Hotel rooms were spacious with kettle and hairdryer provided as well as tea and coffee. Water, beer and soft drinks in the fridge, all free of course on the All Inclusive and fridge refilled each day - ask for fresh milk at the bars (not UHT) and you get it free also.
Balcony quite small but big enough for 2 - Our room overlooked the pool, which is big and nicely laid out and no deeper than 1.4m. Plenty of sunbeds (not sure what it will be like in July/August though?
Beach was good with plenty of sunbeds again and the covered loungers.
Food was nice with plenty of choice, lots of stuff for the kids as well - Only moan here was the boiled eggs are sorted into soft and hard boiled, but sometimes the soft were hard also:) - Some people on here complain about the food being not so good and repetitive which is nonsense. If you can't find something different to eat over a week or two when you've got such a huge choice then go see a shrink cause you've got a problem. With 4 different restaurants doing al a carte, the main eating area, and snacks during the day (kebabs, pizza, cakes, butties, etc. and the beach restaurant) - come on!!!
There are some shops close the hotel to the right and left after a short walk. Keep going left past the Sherwood Breezes and there are more shops, then keep going past the concorde and LimakLara and there are the main shops by the Delphin hotels (Imperial & Palace?).
Transfer from the airport takes about 20 minutes.
Only watched one show which was OK, but don't usually bother with the entertainment so can't say much about that. Firework displays at various hotels throughout the holiday which was a nice surprise.
All in all a great week, great service from the staff who were all very friendly - some reviewers say the staff were rude, maybe it's how those reviewers spoke the staff ?
One improvement I could mention to the hotel is the Wi-Fi which was usually rubbish:(

We have just returned from the Royal Wings hotel after 14 nights , we were a family of 4 with 2 boys aged 4 & 6 . I will say that my wife and kids liked it more than me however pool/beach holidays are not really my thing so this will be a family review rather than just my opinions

Pros -

Excellent facilities for the kids , pools were really good as was the water park , funfair although limited was used both nights by the boys.

Staff , all of the staff from the bar staff/waiters to the entertainment staff were pleasant, helpful and very quickly got to know the kids and chatted to them when they saw them.

Cons -

Beds were very hard , we had a typical family room and usually the sleeping arrangements were dictated by the kids so I slept on all of the beds and they were all the same.

A lot of things carried a charge despite this being listed as ultra all inclusive, games area , extra visits to the al a carte restaurants , water sports, tennis, football etc . We were at the pool one day when some of the entertainment staff came by offering the banana boat for the kids , at no time was it mentioned that there was a 10 euro charge until we had signed the boys up and were there (bit sneaky)

A small number of guests who thought they didn't have to queue with the rest of us (Russian mostly) not the hotels fault but a con all the same.

Food is difficult as if I was rating it all together then I would say it was fine however the buffet to me was like a canteen that was always busy and was geared totally for the European guest . The breakfast in particular was limited (imho) and I didn't go the second week as I was bored of eggs on toast :)

All in all a good hotel , We may return to the Antalya area in the future but not the Royal Wings , there are plenty of other places to go/see and the hotel does not have that wow factor.

We visited this hotel from 17th May until 31st May with our 2 children aged 8 and 6 and I have to say we had a great time. I'm not going to repeat comments about the layout of the hotel etc as this gets very repetitive.

I have seen some negative comments of late about the hotel, which either the people walk around with the eyes closed or didn't do their homework before booking. I thought the whole stay was great, very clean. I thought the food was excellent, entertainment was good as was the water park.

I didn't use the kids club for my kids so can't comment about it but this reflects how good the hotel was for other things to do without wanting to palm them off.

If you are lucky to have your stay when they do a garden party on a Saturday do not give this a miss, its great.

Overall the hotel is on my list to go again next year, if you are due to go this year do not worry. You will have a great time. If people want to find a fault they usually will so just enjoy your stay.

We stayed at royal wings for 4 nights in june.

Pros:
1. Hotel facilities and pools, huge pool, great water park
2. Large room with very nice see view
3. Food variety
4. Nice beach
5. The service in general

Cons:
1. 12 euro per person for the a la carte restaurants
2. The free internet doesn't work most of the time.
3. Most of the alcohol is from low quality

We highly recommend this hotel for families.

I'm sorry to say that we have just arrived back from the Royal Wings in Antalya, we all wish were back there. The hotel is huge but the quality doesn't suffer and although it was probably sold out the grounds weren't overcrowded with plenty of sun loungers available.

We had two rooms for five of us (3 adults, 10 year old and 7 year old) and there was plenty of space - the rooms are big, well laid out and very clean. The cleaning service was very good.

Food - fantastic! There is something for everyone at the different restaurants, snack bars and cafes dotted throughout the site. All that we tried in our week were fantastic. It's also worth noting that there is at least one place available for fresh food 24/7.

Drinks - fantastic! There's a massive range to choose from including cocktails, bourbon, coffee, frappes etc. The kids loved their slush puppies, coke, milkshakes and kids cocktails. Again, if you want you can drink somewhere in the hotel 24/7.

Entertainment - Really good. We enjoyed joining pool games, water polo, air rifle shooting, archery, water aerobics. There was a lot that we didn't do as well. You won't be bored if you decide to join in (it's not pushy either). TOP TIP - don't sit or lie anywhere behind the water polo goals when the games are on - you will get hit hard by the ball.

Pools - absolutely clean as a whistle, interesting shapes and massive. We all loved the pools. The wave pool is good and the slides are great. Safety is good and there are even non slip mats on the wet paving walkways to the slides' steps. They are also well supervised.

Service - Really good at all the bars, restaurants, snack bars and cafes all the staff were very efficient and friendly. We couldn't fault any of the staff.

A small down side was the basement night club. It pumps out the beats if there are people there at night but most don't stay for long as it empties very quickly and early for a nightclub. However, we were on the fifth floor and we could hear the booming bass when it was playing.

We would all love to return, and will one day - I just need to loose some holiday weight and save up!

Room Tip: Get a high sea view if you can.
