Fab hotel, properly comfy and modern rooms.
Food is wonderful with lots of choice, even for the 'picky' (yep, that's us!)
Lovely beach with plenty of room and parasols, seating etc - no fighting!
Only downside is the Lara area itself really - nothing around the hotel to walk to, but hotel provides a shuttle bus (with a small charge) into Antalya itself (one day and you've seen it, mind.) A week is plenty here, but if the weather is good the hotel beach will keep you happy.

went in septmeber with the girfriend and really enjoyed it. Food good with plenty of choice, wine was excellent with the waiters bringing bottles to your table even in the buffet restuarant. Plenty of choice on drinks also, with miller and becks available as part of the AI deal, good spacious gardens and plenty of entertainment on an evening. pools very nice and rooms kept very clean. got upgraded on arrival to junior suite (as a few people seem to do). everybody quite friendly also, would recommend

This was our third visit to the Barut Lara Beach hotel. It should be noted that sinse February is the off season (and it was very cold), the hotel was not full and many of the attractions, pools and restaurants that were normally open in April were closed (understandably).

The Good:

1) As always, the food at the Divan buffet restaurant is top notch. Great selection, high quality, well prepared with great service in the dining area. The other two restaurants we tried were just ok (Akideniz and Sofa)

2) The rooms - they upgraded us as repeat customers from a Jr. Suite which we reserved to a upgraded Jr. Suite with pool and (limited) sea view. We were told we would have been further upgraded, but the other suites were full.

3) the cats. This may seem strange to some, but the Barut Lara is cat friendly and has a nicely-appointed cat house for the 20 - 30 cats who roam the grounds. As cat lovers, we enjoyed visiting them every day and they appear to be well taken care of - food, living conditions and medical care. Compliments to the hotel for supporting this wonderful creatures. We always make a donation to help support them at the end of our stay.

4) the hotel and rooms were very clean

The not so good:

1) we were highly disappointed in the VIP Guest relations lounge which is part of the Jr. Suites and higher-category rooms. The hours were limited (from 10 to 17:00 hours, many of the things promised were not available or offered, the computers were so slow they were almost unusable for net surfing, and we found the staff not as helpful, professional or as friendly as in the past. We believe that they have new staff there, which have not yet been properly trained to the hotel's normal guest relations standards, because this was not the case in our previous stays.

2) The Spa, which has a very nice selection of turkish baths and messages has had major increase in prices (over 40% increase in the past several years). The prices are roughly the same as in Germany now and no bargin are posted in Euros, but charged back with an unfavorable rate in Turkish lira on your bill. Despite this, they do a good job and you feel totally relaxed when they have worked their magic. In the past were were able to enjoy it more.

3) The hotel is showing signs of wear...little things that have not been repaired or replaced in the rooms and in the open areas.

In summary, we were disappointed and will not return to the Barut Lara Beach. I would still recommend the hotel (but not the Jr. Suites for the extra cost) to first time visitors to Antalya because of the food and the friendly service - hence the 4 stars.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a pool / beach room

We booked this hotel at short notice for our Honeymoon. We were given great advice from (Toady) one of the TA Destination Experts.

When we arrived to our surprise we were upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite and we could not believe how lucky we were.

Everything about this hotel is first class including the staff. We will definately return.

Barut Lara resort Antalya THE BEST
We went to the Barut Lara resort in September 2011
The best way we can describe our experience of this holiday at this hotel and of its staff would be.
“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC”
My wife and I went with two other friends to the Barut, this was our second visit to Antalya, but the first time at this hotel. Our first visit to Antalya in 2010 was absolutely wonderful and we thought that it could not be beaten but, we were wrong. The Barut Lara resort has to be the best hotel on Lara beach strip, not only for its cleanliness, fantastic food and restaurants, brilliant entertainment, superb beach, but also for its very friendly and attentive staff, the whole of the staff from senior managers to bar staff, waiters and waitresses, cleaners pool attendants etc made our holiday something very special to be remembered for ever.
We enjoyed it so much that we have decided to return this September 2012 and we are very much looking forward to it. It is additionally important to mention that the Animation team were so professional in their tasks to provide help and support to all of the guests and also providing entertainment that can only be described as top-class. They work very long hours and always had a smile and time to stop and talk and to give us some advice if needed. This hotel has six à la carte restaurants thus giving you a fantastic choice of culinary delights. There is also the buffet restaurant which is very well designed and gets you away from a traditional type of all inclusive buffet restaurants. It has lovely areas for dining and people tend to pick their favourite areas or stations to eat in, thus usually getting the same waiter or waitress. There are several bars open throughout the day and evening also a 24-hour bar There are so many other outside areas for eating and drinking during the day, beautifully kept Gardens, and a choice of five pools, indoor gym games and entertainment throughout the day. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well presented with TV, DVD player, radio, fridge stocked with beers and soft drinks daily plus the added bonus of tea making facilities. We think that this hotel will be very difficult to beat, that is why we and many others that we have talked to whilst on holiday return year after year. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a good standard but, the better outlook rooms are on the pool side. or if you are not on the pool side then you need to be towards the beach side of the hotel then you are not looking directly at the hotel next door.
