“Beware of going to this hotel........”
Reviewed 20 October 2012

...because it is addictive.

It was our third time, and we felt like new people compared to the others who could beat that by many many visits - speaks volumes.

I could repeat all the good things said by other reviewers and do endorse them.

Any niggles - if you want to be super fussy - of course there was the odd not very hot meal at the buffet, the occasional wait for service at the busy restaurant by the beach - but with a view like that and a glass of wine.......not exactly complaining there. The hilarious meal when everything we ordered was not what we meant (but found a new favourite as a result!).

Lovely spacious clean hotel, great food but most importantly fantastic staff who make the holiday special. They have the ability to be super efficient and yet have the friendly personal touch. Lovely to see some of the same staff from year to year.

Would recommend trip into Antalya - beautiful harbour and park area.

Although most of my meetings were in Antalya I decided to stay at this hotel and it was worth it. I liked the spacious room, sea view with a large balcony. The cleaning ladies did a great job and even made some nice animals with one or two towels and left some flowers or red petals which looked really amazing.

The main buffet restaurant had a great variety of food. I had mostly eggs, bacon with different bread and a lot of fruit for breakfast. Lunch and dinner was also of high standard. Plenty to eat and drink. The local beer and wine was very good.

I enjoyed the occasional cocktail, alcoholic and non alcoholic at the different bars.

Overall a great hotel.

Room Tip: I liked the sea view deluxe room especially because of the nice view and large balcony.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks in October this year and it was lovely. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and very clean and it grounds are well kept. No-one could say that they could not find something to eat at this hotel. The main buffet restaurant had a huge variety of food and it never felt repetitive. We ate at four of the six a la carte restaurants and again the food was superb. The waiting staff at the restaurants and at the bars were all helpful and friendly and having international brands like bottles of Miller and Jack Daniels was an added bonus. The only moan I have about drinks was their cocktails, which were just ok.

We never had to get up early for a sunbed and never had to reserve one either. We were getting up at about 10 o clock and could still pick where we wanted to spend the day. The animation team work very hard night and day, special thanks to Nuri for the darts.

Great relaxing holiday and a wonderful hotel, would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Side view rooms overlooking the indoor pool get great sunsets at night and are quieter.

This is a very good hotel. Travelled in August with my husband, 18 year old son, 15 year old daughter plus her friend. Despite having booked standard rooms as we booked late and no others were available we were given 3 very nice rooms close to each other on the first floor and looking over one of the pools. The rooms were spacious and as everyone else has said were kept exceptionally clean - even that of the girls who didn't exactly help the poor lady by sleeping late and never tidying up! If you are a family with small children the family suites grouped around a separate pool looked really lovely.

The hotel is large but well laid out and even at peak time in August it never felt claustrophobic. The pool area is beautiful and the pool bar very handy but I wasn't particularly impressed by the beach area. Food is good particularly the a la cartes - the main restaurant is rather large and perhaps more to the taste of other nationalities but there was usually something simple that we all liked and the salads were excellent. Entertainment could be described as "tries hard" but again was not really to my taste and I have seen better elsewhere. The British teenagers seemed to get together in the evenings and all seemed to have a good time - as an anxious parent I would perhaps say that alcohol was a touch freely available to the under 18s but they weren't complaining! They seemed to mix less with other nationalities than other hotels we have visited.

My only problem with the holiday was with the area outside the hotel which was frankly dull. As all the hotels are all inclusive there are virtually no nice little Turkish bars or restaurants - instead there is shop after shop selling fake goods which whilst actually very good quality were the same in each shop and it became very tedious having to constantly decline to enter their "special shop with the best prices"!!

Overall a good trip and decent value for money given it was August. Would I choose to go back? - probably not. The reviews suggest that many many people return year after year and I can see why but for me there have been better places - a matter of personal taste and no reflection on the quality of this hotel!

Room Tip: Very few rooms have direct sea view but try and get a side view on the pool side and not overlooking...

Really can not say anything more than has already been said about the Barut Lara.
Great food, great pools, beaches, staff, resturants etc,. Stayed for 1 week end of season break. Did not go off complex. Food was different each day.
Will definently be going back, have not said that before.
Just one little moan, when stayed in 5 star hotels before there has been a waiter service around pool and beach, althougth it is not far to walk to tyhe bar.
Before went asked for a higher floor on the West side as advised by travel agent, great views of sun set.

Room Tip: Had a room on the West side, better views than East, straight onto next hotel. Main complex seemed b...

This is our 5th visit to to Barut Lara Resort in 7 years and again it has lived up to our expectations! Its like going home so relaxing, plenty of good food and drinks. Cant fault a thing.
On arrival we were upgraded to a Junior Suite room we didnt have the added extras you get when you pay for a Suite but what can you expect others have paid for the priviledge of using the guest relation lounge and all the other extras! All the staff were so friendly and helpful, e even borrowed an umbrella on the day we had rain to walk to the shops - what service.
Hopefully, all being well, we will be back there again next year.

Room Tip: Email hotel prior to going with any room requests eg high floor etc

Room Tip: if you have trouble walking ask for room nearer pool side as have to walk loads to and fro
