“Another great holiday”
Reviewed 14 August 2009

We stayed at the Barut Lara last year and enjoyed it so much that we came back this year too. We had a great time again - the hotel is just as clean, facilities fantastic and the animation team work incredibly hard to give everyone a good time. The food in the a la carte restaurants is delicious especially the Seafood restaurant and the Turkish one. We can't fault it!

I'm 18 years old and I have been in Barut Lara with my family (my parents and sister (16.5 yrs)) in August 2009 for 6 days. The hotel is very nice, clean, beautiful rooms (includes TV, DVD player, stereo system, free minibar, fresh fruit every morning and more..). There are 3 bars in the hotel (1 indoors (24hrs) and 2 outside) - all included. There are 4/5 pools - 1 indoors (salt water). The beach is great - water are perfect, clean sand, water sports etc.... There are 5 restaurants (1 main restaurant and the other four u need to book 1 day in advance) - good food (great breakfast!) and service - especially at the main restaurant.
The animation team were really great - especially Blondie ( he is very nice and funny... he is the best! ) at the Rifle Shooting. You can also go to the Archery, play tennis, table tennis, football, volleyball, mini golf, squash etc (all free)... At night there are great shows, live music outside etc..
We all had a great time and i really hope I will be back soon...
Ariel.

Second year in a row we are coming to this hotel and the service stays at the same high level (food+drinks, waiters, pools, rooms, etc, etc). It's actualy hard to compete with Barut on the Lara coast line. Will def. come again next year - for a guaranteed level of service and satisfaction.

We stayed here in July/August 2009 with our 9 year old son. On arrival, we were welcomed by enthusiastic staff, with cold drinks and sweets.

Our room was side sea view and to be honest it wasn't the greatest of views as we were directly overlooking another big hotel. The room itself however was large and comfortable and very well cleaned every day. We had clean towels and bed linen almost every day. One day, the cleaning lady left rose petals all over our beds which was really nice to come back to after a long hard day at the pool!

Our son particularly enjoyed the slides in the pool where we seemed to spend most of our time in the first week. He didn't attend the Kids Club until the second week and he said it was fantastic and thorougly enjoyed it, particularly when he went out on the banana boat with Simon who was a great entertainer. The children were all kept well occupied and had plenty to do. The animation team put their hearts and souls into entertaining the guests and really seemed to enjoy doing their job. They were all friendly and smiley and nothing was too much trouble. Blondie seemed to have a particular rapport with the guests (of all ages) and the guy who did the "Water Gym" was really enthusiastic and friendly; he made everyone laugh whilst doing their aerobics in the pool. There is something for everyone and all ages here to do. We really enjoyed the "ABBA" show the animation team put on.

Most of the waiting staff in the restaurants were very friendly and helpful and most had good English. The food was delicious and so diverse with something to cater for everyone. It was amazingly presented in the buffet restaurant with a different theme every day.

It is worthwhile hiring a car if you want get around and see real Turkey as there is nothing much outside of the hotel apart from a few shops in shopping centres. However, only do this if you are really confident at driving on foreign roads as the Turkish drivers are a little wild! We went to see the ampitheatre in Aspendos which was absolutely magnififcent and well worth a trip; we even got to have a camel ride! We also went to Perge which again was fabulous, but too hot as there was no shade and nowhere to even get a drink -not really suitable for children. Old Antalya is really worth a trip and you can go there by taking the hotel shuttle bus at 5 euros each. We wish we had waited to buy all of our souvenirs and gifts from there as there was more choice and you weren't bombardied by sellers, which can be quite intimidating.

TIP: Make sure you barter well for goods otherwise you will end up paying more than you should - even in the hotel shops! Most of the designer goods in the hotel shop are fake so barter well. Also, barter in Turkish Lira as you will get more for your money.

All in all, we couldn't fault this hotel and would definitely go again.

This hotel is the best my family have ever stsayed in!!! sheer luxory awaits you at this paradise!!
All staff gave excellent service,at all times and were very friendly and happy.
We hardly saw our daughter, as it was very safe and secure for her to roam about with her friends. she was concerned when we first arrived as ther didnt seem to be many english people, but by the end of our trip she had made friends from many countries!!
The food is excellent, especially the seafood restaurant.
The barstaff remeberd your favorite tipple and you glass was nvere empty.
the grounds were perfectly kept, thr grass felt like you were walking on carpet!!!
This is a quality hotel and we will be revisting in the future

Just back from a two week stay and I have to say it was one of the best holidays that my wife and daughter ( 8 ) have ever had. A few niggles I did have were the pools need to be cleaned more often due to the amount of grit and sand that builds up. I only saw the pool floors being 'hoovered' once during my two week stay. Also on my second week the English football top and tattoo brigade were arriving with predictable and unfortunate results. They tended to get pretty drunk and boorish by showtime at 9.30ish. As the grounds are so vast you could avoid them during the day however. The place is spotless and the food excellent although what they call the a la carte restaurants are really table d'hote with the menus not changing during the fortnight we were there. The animation team are very good with excellent shows at night ( if you are not sitting next to the afore mentioned tattoo mob). We were upgraded from a delux room to a junior suite which was spotless and huge. We never ventured outside the complex for the fortnight due to the excellent amenities on site.
