Reviewed 29 April 2014

We visited Delphin Palace Hotel in the end of April.
Located in Lara - it is easy to get to from the airport -20 mins taxi ride.
We arrived around 9 am and receptionist - a very friendly lady advised us to have a breakfast and walk around while preparing the room. Room was ready within 1.5 hours which was fine however it was facing noisy and dusty road and we couldn't open our window at anytime during our stay.

Traveling with our 4 year old daughter we decided to let her play at kids club. Kids club - is managed by the Turkish man and two Ukrainian girls. After signing the registration form I noticed that there is no gate that can close the territory and even the door was open. On my question about it manager answer that it is not a zoo and there is no need for the cage. I let my daughter play and returned to check in half an hour - she seemed to be excited and busy. We took her to launch with us and dropped her of again around 3 o'clock. After talking to staff they assured me that its ok to come back in 1.5 hour. So I arranged some spa procedures for me and my husband. When we came to pick her up - we had manager shouting at us and saying that 1.5 hours was too long, he was talking to us like kids and all together it was very uncomfortable. We have been to many resorts in Turkey - and never had any problems and a specially attitude from the staff of the resort. Furthermore it was day for the pool games in kids club - which means that they had all kids walk to the mini pool ( 1 foot deep ). However on the way back nobody made sure she was wearing her clothes or shoes. Being four years old she can forget to put her clothes and shoes on as it is not cold but I don't understand how can adult not notice it. So when we came to pick her up she was in her swimming suit with all bottom covered in paint which never came of. We had to look for her crocs and t-shirt for half an hour and we were lucky enough to find it. I just don't think it is responsible and for me it makes this kids club useless. Its lacking staff and training.
Good and safe kids club facilities and caring personnel - are the most important things for parents when they are having vacation and unfortunately we did not find it in this hotel. I strongly recommend for the management of the hotel to fix this issue. I am not even talking about dropping off the kids for all day - which some resorts are doing successfully from 10 am - to 4-5 pm and taking kids to lunch. But at least make clear rules for the parents and workers so they understand what is this kids club about. If you do have kids club - make it kids club for an hour, or two hours otherwise checking on your child every 20 mins doesn't make it a good rest for parents.

Overall:
pool +
beach+
evening entertainment+
food in restaurant is quite repetitive, not a big selection for fruits and diet table but huge choice of sweets. Grill area outside is worth checking out. Turkish night is special. There is a small play area for kids outside - makes it easier.

Travelling with kids.. I wouldn't return to this hotel.

MERHABA!....reader! :}
U are reading this as someone already visited the Palace or one..THINKING???? ;)
This is our 3rd annual visit to Lara Beach and 3rd diff hotel..1st CONCORDE, 2nd BAIA LARA & 3rd, this review!
We went to the Palace Wed 16/04/14 and decide on this hotel from trip advisor reviews, like maybe U!
A lot already been said about this hotel via previous reviews and just want to add some extras.
Very 1st impressions on entering the large foyer entrance...oops!..dark and kinda old style, which was not what I was expecting!
But never judge a book by its cover and that was my last kinda negative response, as we found the staff 99% very friendly and helpful through out our stay and yes..German is the 1st language used as are the people staying, but found by just saying 'Merhaba[Hello]....WORKED WONDERS!!! :) ...Every where is spotless and we paid extra for a sea view, but didn't use much to be honest, food was plentiful and enjoyed daily fresh made omelettes and plentiful of fresh cooked meats, fish, sweets etc from the central cooking area of the dining area, with loads of smoked salmon, mussels, shrimps available lunch and evening meal.
A huge indoor heated pool used in morning and got busy as day progressed with youngsters [stop sun burning!]. At times, some staff would not see U waiting for a drink , but easily sorted..get up and tap person on shoulder and say..merhaba! smile and drink comes!! [very effiecient.] Also the palace and Imperial have there piers up and running for drinks etc, where the other hotels wait till 1st May! [Would I recommend The Delphin Palace Hotel...YES! :) ..sometimes its best not to know everything about the hotel, but find out yourself when U book this hotel and ENJOY!!...[i would also rec the 1st 2 hotels auch!! ]

Room Tip: We had sea view 4209....but would you be on balcony alot?

The hotel is beautiful. Staff members are very friendly and courteous. Food is very good.Take a sweater as there is a strong breeze sometimes. We would definitely go again. Would want to try out delphin imperial next time. Paid approx £15 for taxis from Antalya airport to the hotel and back. Kids loved the slides. The beach piers are lovely. Loads of activities for kids and if it's cold outside there is the inside pool that is warm.

Visited on April 13 for 5 days with 2 kids 3 and 8 years old with another couple.
kids activities
Outdoor pool is heated and kids spent a lot there. There is a regular pool and children pool. Not many people there so it is nice.
Outdoor pool is still cold. The sea is cold but the beach is really nice!!
Kids club is fun mainly due to the entertainment guys that play with kids, bake cookies etc. My small daughter adored them!!!
Food: there are a lot of corners with kinds of food: pizza, fish, pasta, ice cream and so on. I really couldn't see all of it due to its size. In addition every hour there is more food like Belgium baffle, swarma, fries, chicken wings so you won't be hungry. But I really wanted some regular chicken soup for me and kids... bit didn't find. In summary I didn't get any extra weight and would rank the food as 4 out of 5.
Room: the room is clean and maintained well. Better to have pool view or sea view in the higher floors. sea side and land side are very dark. Low floors have noise. We stayed at 2 floor
Cleaning is really good and everyone gets a couple of swans decorating of the towels :-)
There is a shuttle service from the hotel to the city center at 9:30 back at 14:00 that worth to take. Glad we visited the city twice!
Entertainment is OK. Saw better but anyway good to have this at the evening. The kids liked it too.
Games: we played tennis but you need to reserve the cort.
For additional payment we played bowling and some other machine games.
My hubby took hamam and massage which was good.
People: the tourist 80% from Germany, the rest are different: Switzerland, Russia, England, Finland, Israel, Belgium. .. The staff speaks mainly Germany and Russian, also English. The service is good, the waiters run and try to provide you what you need sometimes they don't understand but I think it is the best service I ever saw and with full occupied hotel it is hard to please everyone. I was pleased anyway. To summarize good hotel and good vacation!

Have just arrived home after a week stay at the Delphin Palace and although we had a nice time (only due to the friends we went with, nothing the hotel offered) we won't be going back! The hotel is lovely and clean as are the pool areas and rooms, we paid for ultra inclusive not quite sure what this was? Maybe the ultra meant you actually got the drink you ordered?? Turkish staff (even tho apparently if they have a uk flag on their badge they speak English) THEY DONT!!! In any hotel I've ever stayed in the staff know the difference between white or black coffee and vodka and coke or vodka and tonic!! They just stare blankly at you then bring you whatever they think you've said which is normally wrong or they just don't bring your order!!! If your German then you'll love it because that seems to be the main language. Now to the food in the restaurants looks nicer than it is!!! My son who's 10 is not a fussy eater but found it hard to find anything to have every night, think this is the first all inclusive I've lost weight. The pool area is lovely and very clean pools are freezing.....most hotels in Turkey seem to have water slides, which the delphin does screams health and safety, there is a lifeguard but not quite sure what he did? There should be a lifeguard at the top making sure children go one at a time and one at the bottom to ensure children swim away from bottom of slide, this was proved when the water stopped for some reason on one slide my son was on, then water came on again so fast behind him he caught up with another child and smashed his chin!! Spoke to the lifeguard guess what he didn't speak English! A manager came to the pool and spoke to us and said they would look into in, they locked the slides up and re opened and hour later, no one looked at the slides in that time?? They just didn't care! Restaurant at pool again nothing very appealing to eat!!! Every day there was a donar cart, jacket potato cart, pizza and pasta this was or main diet.... Someone on here mentioned not much for kids to do, quite true unless they like kids club (which mine don't) the entertainment staff walk round the pool asking if you want to do games I understand rifle shooting is not for kids I think throwing hoops over poles or balls into buckets is for kids not for just adults our kids wanted to play one and asked the staff eagerly and where just looked at and told NO our kids watched the entertainment staff walk and let another kid from another family have a go, guess what it was a German family!!! Only good things, transfer from airport only 20 mins, beds comfy, clean.
