“Lots of Charm With a Great Host!”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

The manager, Mustafa, makes this place. Very warm, welcoming and easy-going, ready to help meet any of your needs without hovering. As for the place itself, Hadrianus Hotel has a definite charm, makes you feel as if your staying at Grandma’s house: old and creaky with antiquated art deco furnishings. It has its quirks, to say the least. Some things don’t work right, but that’s part of the charm. The draw for us was the enchanting garden and it turned out to be all that was expected and more. Plenty of place to lounge any way you like; swing, lounge chairs, sofas, tables, lots of shade provided by a multitude and variety of fruit trees with grape vines stretched across them and constant birdsong. Great to start and end days relaxing there. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. We got the “deluxe” room with Jacuzzi, which was small with a large bathroom. Jacuzzi worked fine, as did wi-fi. Clearly not everyone would think this was worth the money considering more modern options for the same or less. However, if you appreciate historic architecture and a sense of grandeur past, and value a enchanting outdoor retreat in a busy city, then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: With a room away from the street, we heard absolutely no noise. Not sure about the ones on the stree...

Once a quiet port town, Antalya is now a sprawling city of more than a million people. Driving into town from the west, we couldn't believe what we'd read about Antalya's charming old town (Kaleici) or this lovely hotel - but it was all true. Mustafa, a friendly and helpful staff member, took our bags and ushered us into a large, comfortable, beautiful old room with traditional furnishings overlooking a quiet, verdant courtyard. We felt at home instantly and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including the excellent breakfast across the street at the Hadrianus's sister hotel, the White Garden. In fact, we liked it all so much that we changed our itinerary and returned to Antalya & the Hadrianus after a trip to Konya. The second time, our room was smaller but still quiet, tastefully furnished, and overlooking the courtyard.

Room Tip: Ask for a room over the central courtyard.

We spent a fortnight in Turkey in May and Hadrianus Hotel is our favourite and most memorable out of all the accommodation we experienced during our trip. For the price, it was exceptional. We loved our bedroom - it was a huge, cosy upstairs room, and had big windows opening out onto the garden. The hotel garden is beautiful - lovely to relax in with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. Our hosts were great and generous with time and advice, helping us understand maps, public transport ... etc. Breakfast was awesome, too: an excellent array of fruits and yoghurt, tomatoes, cucumber, various types of cheese and cold meats, olives, as well as some hot food and breads and spreads. We can't say enough good things about Hotel Hadrianus or Antalya in general. It was perfect, and we were genuinely sad to say goodbye.

Room Tip: We had a large upstairs bedroom which overlooked the garden. The walls were thick, so it was quiet a...

We recently spent 9 days at the Hadrianus. Our experience was completely enjoyable. The hotel is well situated in old town, the rooms are clean and well appointed, the breakfast is fresh, tasty with a variety of choices. Above all the management and staff are friendly, helpful and eagerly look for opportunities for assist guests.

The double room was a decent size, but the bathroom was very spacious with a full length spa bath and plenty of room. This hotel is located centrally in Kilicasili (The Old Town), Antalya. It is centrally located with only a short walk to the nearby Clock Tower, the old harbour and a bazaar that everything you may find in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. We stayed a week because we were so happy with the price and service provided.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a local map, some streets get a lot of getting used to navigating. But still...

We booked a room at the Hadrianus and when we arrived were taken just around the corner to the Whte Garden hotel. We were told all hotels owned by same person - the fact is the room wasnt exactly what we booked but it was great, it had a separate bedroom and large kitchen/lounge room with fridge and airconditioning. It had lots of windows for natural light with views into the courtyard and also out onto the street. Our breakfast was taken at the White garden and it was very very good, lots of good fresh fruit, good breads etc. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. There is a small pool (not big enough for swimming but ok for a dip). The location inside the old city as stated by other reveiwers is excellent, it's a great place to be. If i was coming back to Antalya i would book to stay at the White Garden again.

Room Tip: You may need to be flexible with what you book and what you end up with.

Antalya is a huge city, but the old town is defiantly the place to be, built along the shores around the harbour the old winding cobbled streets look like they have barely changed over the centuries. The Hadrianus is based right in the centre of it, a couple of minutes from the harbour.

Its part of the Secret hotel/Pansion so your accommodation will be within the Hadrianus but breakfast and pool access will be across the street which is no problem at all. The accommodation we had was a small room in its own little building, with fireplace and twin beds, basic but very charming. Nice garden kept in great condition by the very pleasant staff.
Breakfast was of good quality, fantastic feta cheese!
