We had one of our best family holidays this year which was in part down to the location and friendliness of the Turks and partly due to the accommodation and reception we had from Levent and family (Villa owners).
The villa is very large with a great pool and offers a spectacular view of the mountains and is an ideal base to explore this part of Turkey. There are some lovely restaurants nearby, notably Sibel's four seasons cafe and restaurant and also the Rivera park restaurant which offers dining in a tree house! There is also a small shop within walking distance for basic supplies.
The house is well laid out with two downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom on the same level as the pool. The kitchen, air conditioned lounge and a further bedroom is on the 1st floor with access to the patio where we often had breakfast and coffee looking out across the valley and coast. The lounge is comfortable with plenty of space to relax and large patio doors providing plenty of sun and a fresh breeze. 2 further en-suite bedrooms upstairs are large and have another terrace with table and chairs and an area for drying towels & clothes. We kept the shutters down on this floor to keep the rooms from becoming too hot.
Most rooms have ceiling fans and we were also given floor standing fans to help keep temperatures comfortable although it was still hot some nights. The pool was used almost every day and is a good size to allow both exercise and play and the garden is large and developing with small trees and plants. The majority of the garden is still waiting for grass to come through and will be lovely when established. That said the children enjoyed the space and had fun with the local animals; kittens, wild tortoises and lovely dragon flies. The noise form the cicadas became comforting and their uncanny ability to stop and start in unison is still a mystery!
The kitchen has the basic essentials and allowed simple meals to be pulled together easily. The addition of a microwave, dishwasher and toaster would have made things easier but we managed well enough without. Because of the time of year we went there were times when the water pressure was low which meant we had to time our showers around peak use which wasn’t always convenient but only a minor issue.
Levent and family were really welcoming and provided all the information and support we needed during our stay, even putting us in contact with local friends when they were away. We were their first guests and they were very keen to learn what they could improve to make future guests stay even more enjoyable. I have no doubt the minor issues we had will be fixed and can thoroughly recommend the location for fantastic views, great climate and easy access to some beautiful beaches.
