“It could be worse!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We arrived early hours in the morning as was shown to a lovely room in the main building thankfully as the rooms outside the main building were very dark and dated
Waking up the next morning and going to explore as you do we found we was in the middle of no where and the only way to do anything outside the complex resulted in a bus or taxi ride
The food was repetitive but you can order a take away that deliver to the hotel free of charge the menus are in reception
The bus to beach is a bit rickety but it gets you there not that there's much to do down there
The staff was lovely and couldn't do enough for you
We laughed from the moment we got there
So for a cheap little get away you can't go wrong here

Room Tip: Ask to be in main building

Well where to begin.... The Belkon experience is certainly not one that we will forget in a hurry.... The hotel is out of the way, you are not able to walk anywhere...we were the only English speaking guests at the hotel, the majority are arrogant rude Russian guests... Certainly not middle class people !!! The dining experience was like feeding time at the zoo... A fight over food! No air conditioning in the main lounge/ lobby area so we had to sit in pools of sweat for the majority of the last day! Rooms were very grubby and tired. Pool area is way too small for the amount of guests and only one bar in the whole hotel open!! Not a 4 star and not for the English!!!!!!!!!!!! Good riddance Belkon. All though the English speaking reception guy was our saving grace !!!!!!!!

I'm just staying in Belkon Hotel in Belek, first the rooms are in a very bad condition second the toilets, oh my God ...., then the whole All Inclusiv concept it's a joke, you have breakfast, lunch and dinner and that's it, nothing between the meals, the drinks at the bar are very bad, coke, fanta and sprite must be made by powder and it is full of rusian people. The rusian people are fighting the whole time for food, so I have the impression that it is always a fight to get something to eat and they are very noisy to. I thing that this hotel is something for poor rusian people. They said they have a beach too but this is also a joke, nothing there to drink or eat. No W-Lan.

how this hotel qualify as a 3.5/4* resort is anyone's guess!

day 1/room 1 - Mould in the bathroom, no aircon, no fridge
moved to room 2 - even more mould, no aircon
Hotel suggested sending someone to "paint over it", which they did,
night 3 - ceiling coving in bathroom falls down, almost hitting my 4 year old daughter
moved to the "inner building", wasps on the balcony, they sent a "crew" to remove, who beat the nest with a stick, needless to say, the nest fell on the floor, crew ran away, so now, we have no aircon and no access to outside air. Awesome in this hot humid weather.

Food - if you like fried chicken and burgers, you'll be fine, as its served twice a day, every day - if you dont, well, umm, i guess you'll dislike them even more by the time you leave, chances are, if you do like them, you'll also dislike it by the time this ordeal is over.

the water slides are given their daily dose of water for 2 hours in the morning, at which point they are then turned off, and this is the only fun for the kids as their is no entertainment or animation team, save for a very mediocre mini-disco at night time.

Fancy a trip to the beech - best hold on, the bus has no sides, so any sudden swerves could see you out rolling on the road

Yay, only 7 more days to go.....

a bit of further info, we booked through "youtravel.com" which appears to be part of a bigger group, who have a whole load of websites with a call centre in India. they rate the hotel as 4star on their system, but when you try find it now, they have removed the hotel completely (see image of google search) and heres the link to the hotel
http://www.youtravel.com/24/Turkey/4/Antalya/15/Belek/Belcon-Hotel-%7C-Club-Complex/

and even as of now, they will not acknowledge there is an issue, but they have removed the hotel.

Needless to say, we will not be using this company, ever again and will endeavor to see any of the other "brands" they own and avoid them as well.

According to companies house, there are 8 businesses registered at 50 Park Street, London W1K 2JJ, so if you are booking a holiday and read this, please do your research and lets try and make companies that allow this sort of thing be held responsible. At the end of the day, the company we book our holidays through is our only benchmark for the hotel. They are the ones we pay our money to and in any other business, you would have to take responsibility, but here, "travel agents" just seem to be exempt.

Ok so I am not normally one to write this stuff and this review is an honest and open as I can be. Let's start with the staff most are ok however the guy at the main pool bar is about as rude as you can get the younger staff are the better. Now the food bland cold very limited in choice and is so repetitive it's untrue if want a decent meal go into town there are some good places to eat.
The rooms were ok if a little shabby the Aircon worked well the tv only had two channels in English but hey if you go on holiday to watch tv stay at home.
The evening entertainment was all in Russian and awful so poor you had to laugh if nothing else it made you smile. This hotel caters for the Russians but I can understand that as they outnumber the Brits 50-1 and I guess they have to play to the majority. The bus to the beach is ok it's about a two mile ride and can get full so be waiting outside for it and on your return. The beach itself is ok a little pebbles sunbeds are provided and there is food and drinks at the hotels bar on the beach. The water is clean the sea is warm and there are payable water sports available. Would I go back yes to turkey to the belkon no there are better hotels but I am not complaining we had a great holiday meet so nice people went on fantastic day trips booked last moment and only paid £700 for ten days bargain realy.

Room Tip: We had 606 in the gardens it's at the back and away from any noise

What a dirty pile of absolute poo. Run by rude and unhelpful people who have no concept of the holiday business or how to deal with people. Bottom shelf establishment that can only be described as evil. It will make you feel that you are poor.

Well for a start, never ever book a holiday through Ice Lolly. They look cheap but by the time you get yourself on the phone, they've totted up a load of extras. They offered us a better room at the hotel with a jacuzzi and a plazma TV which we never got despite parting with the money. She spelt my name wrong and never asked for the correct spelling, so we had to pay £100 to change the name even though it was her fault. They kept saying they would ring back but never did. Anyway this hotel. It's in Belek. There is nothing around the hotel at all so don't go if you're expecting an evening stroll. T
There's no entertainment (well they had two men playing guitar and singing on two of the nights but not exactly good...) unless you stay up for their disco which starts at 11pm and is like an empty rave.
Everyone is Russian - it's catered entirely for Russians and the general impression we got is that the staff don't like English.
The room was two single beds even though we paid for a twin - we kept pushing the beds together and then the cleaner would push them back each day. Take the hint?!
Speaking of the cleaners - ugh - on one of the days it was too warm so we spent the afternoon in our room. We hung the 'do not disturb' sign on the door and the cleaner knocked on THREE TIMES and then some blokes knocked on to fix our phone which we didn't even know was broken. They don't get them signs at all. It was highly frustrating.
Food was fine. Pool was nice. Bar was good for Pepsi but if you want an alcoholic spirit that isn't 90% water then you'll need to go and buy one.
Shuttle bus to the beach is a death trap, an open tractor type vehicle with no seatbelts - make a deal with God and hope there's no emergency breaking.
Now to the beach. What an absolute joke the Belkon section of the beach is. Shameful. Each section of the beach is split into all-inclusive hotels, there was the Verda hotel which had it's own restaurant, bar and dinner areas with lots of lovely sunbeds with mattresses (which we sneaked in to). Other other hotels had bits of bars and seating areas etc. And then there was the Belkon section. The beds were naff with manky mattresses, and the all-inclusive area was absolutely the most embarrassing thing I've experienced on this holiday. It was on the bar of a filthy scummy little building. A vending machine that serviced orange juice and rotten milk (I know because my partner poured it into a coffee and it was off), and a water machine. Everyone else had Pepsi and alcohol and all kinds of drinks available and all we had was this. We took a stroll to the restaurant assuming we would be able to eat somewhere on the beach, but they first turned us away before saying we could stay for 15 Euros each. At this point we left. How embarrassing. It's like this hotel was the hotel for the cheap and scummy. Never again!!!
The rooms had wooden grates on the windows which were once openable, but they have gone round and welded all the metal latches shut so that you can't open them. This made the room unacceptably dark. No rail in the wardrobe. Nights could be a little chilly and the sheets were rough as a badgers bottom and very thin. AC didn't work. No TV remote. The manager seemed to flit between rude and pleasant. The man at the little shop in the main hotel was the loveliest little fellow ever. The young fellow in charge of entertaining the kids (the one with short hair) is a latcher - he will ignore you one minute and then not leave you alone the next. We made some friends with one of the only other English people there, and this entertainment guy kept sitting with them at dinner and he doesn't speak a word of English so it was quite amusing. He could be friendly and then like I said he ignores you for a day. He also seems to attach himself to a few women. Don't bother taking Lira, take Euros.
If you manage to get this hotel very cheap then it's fine, but we felt conned thanks to IceLolly.com.

Anyway we won't be returning.

Room Tip: We should have done what everyone else said and requested a room in the main hotel. Although the gar...
