“A superb relaxing hotel.”

What else can we add to all the superlative reviews so far, except we agreed with all of them. Most guests we met have been going there twice a year ever since the hotel was opened.
A special mention must be said for the very personable hotel manager, Saviye Mutlu, who runs a very well organised operation. The tour operator, The Discerning Collection also deserved a mention for being so knowledgeable and helpful.
Well done to all those concerned.

Room Tip: Corner rooms especially but any room is nice.

We just returned from a 5 night stay after 5 nights in Istanbul. In retrospect we could have easily shaved 2 nights off of Istanbul and added them to Kalkan. The location in Kalkan was very good, although the hotel faces east, so late afternoon sun is lost (unless you get one of the few rooms at the end of the hotel on the water side - 403 being the best). The service and the food are what make this hotel shine. We ate there most nights and were never dissappointed. I can't say enough good things about the waiters that took care of us all day by the pool or during dinner or any other time. By the way, some reviewers have complained about not getting a sun bed near the pool, but we were much better off with our quite corner location on the lower deck with a nice breeze and the best view of all deck locations (the pool beds look over the pool and over the hotel). There were a few negatives which keep me from giving an excellent rating.
1. As noted Kalkan is extremely, if not entirely British. I would bet that my Husband and I were the only Americans in the town. If you are looking for a wonderful spa vacation, then Likya in Kalkan is the place to go, if you are looking to get a flavor of the Anatolian region of Turkey either go elsewhere or give yourself enough time for full day excursions out of town.
2. They nickel and dime a bit. Other than a couple of complementary bottles of water in the room you have to pay for all water, even with dinner. The mixed drinks are also over priced and not worth it based non how they are mixed.
3. We stayed in one of the Master deluxe suites (402) which was pretty with a very spacious outside area, but the shower consistently flooded the entire bathroom, the sliding door to the balcony was very difficult to operate and the view was perhaps not as good as other rooms. Also, the first night in the room we filled up the jacuzzi, but when we turned on the jets lots of black junk was extruded into the water, which turned us off from the experience. We spent our first night in 303 which was also a lovely room (with a much superior bathroom) and a wonderful view.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, would recommend the hotel and would turn if and when we are back in the are for a more extensive tour of the region.

Room Tip: Room 403 is the cream of the crop, but all the rooms are lovey with great views. If you want one of...

We stayed for 5 nights in Likya, and we had such a wonderful stay. We spent a week in Istanbul beforehand, so it was lovely to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city (amazing city by the way). The spa was incredible, we had about 8 treatments each! (bit addicted), the beach club was brilliant, the restaurant was superb and the service was excellent for our entire stay. Can't rave about the hotel enough.

In terms of location, Kalkan was more touristy than we expected, and a lot of ex-pats live out there. In fact we met more British people than any other nationality, and we robably wouldn't return just for that reason as it was a bit too touristy for us.

But the hotel was absolutely perfect, and if you're heading to Kalkan, Likya is the place to stay!

This hotel is fabulous in every respect. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We have just returned and have booked for 2013. It was the Likya's last week of the season and the hotel was quieter than normal. We were able to look at all the rooms and there was very few that we wouldn't be happy to stay in.
It's just great to relax and enjoy the tranquility of a hotel without the noise of screaming kids. We had one day of rain so spent our time in the spa which is so comfortable and has every feature you would expect.
We booked through Discerning Collection who are great travel agents.

Room Tip: All rooms are very comfortable. Top floor has extras such as larger sun terrace and jacuzzis!

When researching this holiday we asked for no children, no endless international buffets and to not have to get up at 6 am to bag a sunlounger. We got everything we asked for and much more. The hotel has a unique feel to it, having only a small number of rooms, it is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The room was very big and well furnished as was the huge terrace/balcony (first floor) with not only table and chairs but two sunloungers too.

As mentioned in so many previous reviews the level of customer service is incredibly good, every wish is catered for in a way that is often lacking in most good establishments in England, the manageress (sorry i never asked your name) Ibrahim and Muhammet all have a wonderful understated manner to make all guests feel welcome and valued and that nothing is too much trouble.

Breakfast was a small but very well formed, fresh figs some days others fresh fruit salad or cherries with a choice of yoghurts and honey, then a small selection of cheeses and meats, two hot choices such as a warm chorizo dish, or a hot pepper mix, boiled eggs, or to order poached, fried or scambled egges, omlettes or pancakes, all served with a good selection of breads which you can toast on the ultra hot griddle. Looking out over the bay at the boats going out with plenty of refills of coffee was always a good way to start the day.

The hotel is a good 15 - 20 mins walk from town but a pleasant walk though at night it can be dark in places and the road is uneven and needs care at night and flat shoes, a torch could be useful.

The food both at lunch and dinner was faultless, probably the best in Kalkan, always served on huge plates with a flourish, making each meal an event and a pleasurale occasion. small appetisers are served before both lunch and dinner which were very tasty, The food was very well presented and delicious and with the choice of lovely wines and the view from the terrrace accross the bay looking down to Kalkan it is highly recommeded. Try the chocolate cake for two, two hot gooey chocolate fondants, two dishes of ice cream all under a cloud of candy floss, a pudding lovers fantasy.

This is a hotel like no other we have been to, not only were the other guests all thoroughly nice people who in the main respected their fellow guests privacy but were happy to join in conversations round the bar in the evening giving a convivial atmosphere. This hotel was very hard to leave.

Room Tip: Roons on first floor have large balconys, rooms ending in 06 have dual aspect rooms and along with...

This hotel is in a great location, being so close to the centre of Kalkan and having the wonderful views of the bay! Unfortunately, we only stayed one night but I was impressed with the quality of our room and the friendliness of the staff.Breakfast was very good, included in the price.
